Good Morning!!!! 75F @ 5:45AM. Sunny. High 103F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.
Oh man, I hate stumps. Even with the big hoe on the
M62, I still hate 'em. Got a tree that needs to come down at the new place, and that stump'll just stay in place. Glad you were able to help your neighbor, Ron.
Thanks for the compliments on the Commando, folks. I sometimes wonder where that bike ended up, or if it's still even on the road. It had all the fixes done for known issues, and I put 40K miles on it before I sold it. But the one I wish I hadn't sold was my first one, a 1970 Commando Fastback in lemon yellow I got from an ex-dealer up in Marin County, CA. I put a lot of miles on that one, too, with very few issues. It did shear a lay shaft in the transmission once, though, but that was an easy repair, once I got it home. And I don't remember how that happened. So long ago...
How come every time I go to fix a PVC pipe the can of glue is dried out? That happened again yesterday. Thought I had it covered until the other set of primer/glue cans turned out to be for ABS, not PVC. So off to the local hardware. The smallest can he had was over six bux, and I realized I also needed pipe thread dope. He was even prouder of that one at twelve bux. Good thing money grows on trees in the back yard. Anyway, got the new water softener valve installed and plumbed yesterday, and that was it. The union I need to take apart to fix the leak on the water tank needs a bigger pipe wrench than I have up here, so it'll have to wait until the next trip. After all that screwing around, it was 1PM, over 100F, and time for lunch.
Ended up cleaning the lime deposits out of the toilets up here with rotten stone and red 3M Scotchbrite, what fun. But at least I was inside with the A/C on.
Been trying to find a GMRS two way radio that would interface via Bluetooth to the comms in the new motorcycle helmet, and think I found one. Their sales department wasn't very helpful with their answers to my questions, but a gal that was working in tech support yesterday was. I'll get one on order when I know I'll be back south to take delivery; don't want to eat into the 30-day return period waiting to get back south if it's delivered up here.
Think I'll swap out the solar panel up on the gate opener this morning before it gets too hot. Or maybe change the coolant in the Kubota side-by-side and put antifreeze in it again instead of the tap water that its got now? No shortage of things to do here...
Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend...
