Good morning!!!!

81F and cloudy @ 12:00, heading up to around 85F for the day's high. Calling for on and off rain showers this afternoon.

Did some needling scaling on the three 5 1/2' t-posts yesterday. Have those now ready for the phosphoric acid treatment then primer and topcoat. Already had the fourth one done and topcoated.

Those will be used to extend the arched trellis to a 3rd section.

While I was doing that I got a text from The Woman to come move the Water Buffalo so She could water around the small peach tree out front in order to weed around it. She said She discovered a bunny nest while She was doing that ...

Changed out the bag on the Japanese Beetle trap out front.

After finishing up on the t-posts I did a little mowing up at the compost wood lot. Decided to hold off on most of it until the rains came as it was pretty dusty. Might get that finished up later today, depending on the rain situation.

Collected up the Black & Decker string trimmer The Woman had left out front on my way back down to the house as the black clouds were rolling in, then ran the Cub over to the barn.

We ended up getting a real frog strangler for about 10 - 15 minutes which then turned into a lighter rain for the next 3- - 60 minutes. The heavy downpour must have been fairly localized as most LWS in the immediate weren't reporting much. Based on an empty 5 gallon bucket I had sitting out in the garden I'd say we got an inch or so. Ground drank it right up.

Decided to grab a shower and head up to Menards in Cuyahoga Falls to pick up those soaker hoses.

Stopped by Arthur Treacher's on the way and got a 3 piece fish dinner. Ate one piece in Menard's parking lot before going in and another after I came out before I headed for the barn. Finished it up when I got home.

Also picked up another hose nozzle and shorter Shepard's hook.

Too wet and too late to really do anything after that so I called it a day, spent evening watching nature shows and Nova on PBS. Was in the sack before midnight.

About to head over to a friend's and scope out his new cabbed tractor, going to be welding up a bracket for the diverter valve he's putting on it.

No real plans for the day at this point beyond that, probably spend some time working in the garden after I get back.

Hope everyone is having a Happy 4th of July ... (y)

OK, maybe not the best birthday, but perhaps things are getting better?

Final prep for our gathering this afternoon. Expecting pretty of good food. This will be our 15tf 4th celebration here. Missed a few during Covid.

Hope everyone one has a celebratory day.

that's coming along nicely Ken.
Nakashima has a new competitor... ;)
I would show it to his daughter, but I think she has enough to amuse herself (laugh at)
It's funny, but I drive past the workshop/artists colony there all the time, but have never stopped in.

Good morning! Low of 57°, heading towards 90°. Sunny, no rain chances until Saturday, only a 20% chance though.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! To NHBX, hope you have many more!

Dennis, good news for your son.

Scott! Sounds like you're having a blast with the grands! Good luck getting a chance to work in the shop!

Phil, nice lighthouse. Hope the maple does well. I gave up after attempting to grow 2x.... too dry, too hot, too cold here....

Drew, nice cache of veggies!

Ken, that slab will be a nice table for sure! The local sawmill sells live edge slabs.... you have about an $800+ slab there.

Started a project yesterday for the wifey.... window awnings. We have double hung windows and would like to open the window uppers at night when using the whole house fan. Then, no worries when it rains. A second benefit will be to block the bright and hot afternoon sun.

Made the wood frames from scrap from the back deck roof. Now the fun begins, cutting the metal roof parts to size from those scraps. Why didn't we do this when it was cool?

Break is over.... time to get back out there.
