Update on the neighbors pond issues: The state department of the environment will have jurisdiction going forward. A report is being prepared to lay out that this is a Trout stream subject to regulation and no changes allowed without engineering study and permit changes. Legal action will result if recommendations are not implemented
It's people like you that roil a lot of people on here that view most environmental regulations as something to rebel against.
Having grown up with no smog, clear skies and mostly pure water in northern Vermont I'm glad to see someone take a stand.
The right to destroy the environment stops when it is affecting someone else's environment.
kudos.
/edit
I wrote "mostly pure water" because one time a squirrel got in the well and died. Water was "sweet" until my Dad fished it out.

My daughter says "thank you for the birthday wishes". She is still fighting infection we believe. Has another dr appt Monday morning.

As of November 2022; The average rent for a one-bedroom apartment in Toronto costs $2,502each month, while a two-bedroom is $3,353 per month.
This is just crazy, these prices.
The amount of $$$ people have to make, to afford this.

Good Evening Bill,

I am constantly amazed at the number of really bad drivers out on the road ! I had a young girl come up to a 3 way intersection in which she had a Stop sign and she not only didnt stop, she didnt look if anyone was coming ! Fortunately I was far enough away that I didnt T bone her ! Dont know if it was her cell phone distracting her or the joint she was smoking !
Probably the latter. Happens all too often, just like alcohol did/does too.

84F and sunny in Northern Nevada today. Glad it is not 100F.

Kyle-- our neighbors have peacocks. Wow they can be loud!!

Been busy with camping, travel, chores, and picking up our new pup.

Our new little guy is Rigby -- here is a pix with he and his mom. This pix makes him look a bit chunky, not sure why. He has been "home" for 24 hours now and all is going well. More pix coming I am sure!

Everyone have a great day !!!!!
Great picture and I like the name. They sure are a lot of work when they are young, just like having a baby. Hope you and Billy have the energy reserves to keep up with them and keep them out of trouble and raise them up to be your constant companions.

I have a myriad of things I need to do today. Not sure which ones I want to tackle. I have to fix a flat on the SUV. I will have to put the spare (normal sized) on the front, and move the good front tire to the rear. This is to make sure I don't have a different diameter tire on the rear that can ruin the differential. Taking it in for new tires Monday morning, soonest appt I can get.

I took off the pressure washer's pump, and the engine is not running right. It is a Briggs Intek 190, and has been a good engine. But it is about 28 years old, so I can't gripe too much....but I can gripe about the parts costing so much more than a new engine. Too bad, I would fix it if the parts were not so high. Just a gasket set is like $60 plus. I believe it has a burned valve and maybe camshaft wear. That's just a guess.

I have a box of cat pump parts, I need to see what all is in there and if there are enough parts to make a good pump. Then I'll try to decide on what to do for an engine maybe. They have a Honda powered Ryobi down at the depot for $449. Just not in the cards right now, with the daughter's health bills looming.

Frits, I watched the highlights of the Trouping the Colors. A lot of pomp and ceremony.

Those of you with bears....I want me one of those Bearskin hats like the English soldiers wear.
Thomas, You think Boo would loan me some skin? I will wait until he pees you off enough. :)

BEF, so y'all had a parade? We had about 600 in my graduating class.

Have a blessed day team!

Thanks. He had his chance to stop the overflow and ruin the driveway pavement and eroding the property. It is now showing cracks in the pavement and deep scars from water flow erosion. All he had to do was lower the overflow pipe to allow it to carry more flow but he refused because having the water level up higher looked better. And that it is impacting me and costing me money was not his concern.

so when the countdown was ended, glitter put down the pipe came out very nicely
it took them almost ten hours to build that thing...

Good (Sunday) morning. Overnight Low was a balmy 8.4C and it's presently 10.4C. That'll pretty much be the High though as I'm in for a blustery day. Overcast too.

As per usual, I'm off to Church in about a half hour and then the rest of the day is His.

That's about it, take care all.

61°F and had clear skies this morning, got up to 93° today. Back to 80° now. Looking at possibly 100° tomorrow.

Got most of the mowing done today, with the exception of the pasture, which I'll mow tomorrow morning before it gets ridiculously hot. Wasn't bad out there today, as there was a bit of a nice breeze blowing.

Hope everyone is well.

Good evening, gents.

Ran to kubota dealer almost hour away this morning. Put a gallon of SUDT in tractor, still barely showing on the stick. Don’t see any leaks, not sure what’s up. Should have bought 2 gallons.
Mowed all afternoon into evening

Some of this real steep, went up and down in that area.
Hit a turkey nest, broke some eggs, still 5-6 eggs. Momma came back once, but left again when I got close.
But buzzards found them also, and she has no protection. Felt bad.

Good Evening All!

WOW, this is a very busy thread when one has been out of it for a little bit. Glad to see L4N is back up and running. Prayers for mostly and buppies and any others I missed as I was speed reading through the missed posts. Glad Don got moved in and is learning to love the swimming pool.

Hope everyone has a great evening and wakes up ready to hit the ground running in the morning!

Prayers for our Nation!

Poured first cup of coffee. 53° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 84° with mostly sunny skies. Did not mow grass yesterday. With the heat and no rain forecast for the next week. Thought grass would do better not being cut. Installed a float switch for garden pond pump. Going to neighbors for a Fathers Day party this afternoon.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY!

Prayers and best wishes for everyone.

Good Morning All.

Good morning and happy fathers day to all the fathers out there.
The low temperature is 48 and supposed to go to 73°F. Wind E 6 mph. A mix of sun and cloud.

If the wind swings around to out of the south, then I will turn the compost pile. If not then it isn't going anywhere. Just think, if I turn the compost pile then I will get dressed.

That is the only thing I have to do today.

Have a safe Fathers Day all

good morning all and Happy Father's day to you fathers.
warming up for sure, heat warning just posted for this week.
should be a nice day today, nothing planned but doing a little food shopping this morning.

on these really hot days, I try to get going early, so I can stay inside after lunch.

first cuke showed up yesterday, means I have to be on the watch. Cukes are hiders, like beans, same color
as greenery around them. Mine are growing vertically and the first ones of course are down at the bottom.
need to pick green beans again today. After three days picking I get enough for a good meal. I eat them raw off the plant
but they seem a little tough. Good old fiber I guess. I'm not an al dente person nor do I want them reduced to mush.

I need to stock up on green beans and then some tomatoes. Have to make a nice compensation package for Popgadget, need him
to install my rv hydraulic leveler. I'd likely screw up the bleeding part. Guess I should see if there is a youtube video.
four bolts and two hydraulic connections, what could go wrong?...

Buckeye, really nice mow job. Almost looks like a pretty quilt on the field.

still mulling over the gender reveal party last night. That part was fun, the human interaction was
complicated. Other family is a little rougher, I think every person there had multiple tattoos on their bodies, some covered with them.
I had never seen so many tattoos.
my sides's brother hates the new wife to be, thinks she has a bad reputation and bad for his brother. And....both brothers are becoming partners in family excavating business. This is not going to end well. Several ex's on other side hated each other, had to keep them in different areas.
nothing like a good family gathering...
half the guests had jacked up Ram trucks on giant tires. Of course they were all young males in their late twenties.
And I'm sure when they looked at my Volvo as I picked up my elderly MIL, they thought I was old and boring.
ok, if the shoe fits

need to find my sweat bands. Have a terrible time with sweat getting into eyes and burning while working outside.
maybe I'll work on the garage today, try to straighten things up in there.
