The heart monitor the Dr. wants me to wear for 2 weeks arrived today at 13:30 hrs. Activated it at 13:45 hrs. Called the supplier up , let them know I got it and it is working. I also told them I would NOT be wearing it at night. I will take the battery out when i take it off and put in a fresh battery in the morning after I get up. That is as good as it is gonna get.
I'm about halfway through my 2 week period with this newer monitor, it went on in the office and stays on for the two weeks should be coming off the 11th but may get removed the 10th when I go in for an echo cardiogram (again). Have to wonder what's going on after wearing a monitor for a month that required a new patch weekly to this thing that just stays on for 2 weeks, wondering what they are expecting to see with this one compared to the old one.

65 outside, heading to mid 80's. Hit and miss showers next few days.

Day jobs, lawyers, grass cutting, more grass cutting and pick up sticks on the agenda. Need to check pool out too. No longer green, just cloudy. A shock treatment or two and it should be fine. While I was working on water I cleaned up the koi-less pond a little. Have not seen the little turtles for about a week now.

Hope all have a great day, be safe.

good morning, 66 going to 85 warmer today

Fire alarms went off yesterday evening with the tree coupled together saying carbon monoxide alarm. Would not reset. Had fire department check with portable one and found nothing. Removed batteries and tested some more. Could be dirt on the sensor?

Today the pond inspection team will be here to look at neighbors pond. Not sure how that will go over. Will stay out of the way as much as possible.

One the Milwaukee 12 volt batteries failed. Not that old. Is that normal to fail after a year or two?

Good morning! A warm 80˚F before sunrise heading to the mid 90s with clouds and S winds.

All yards need mowing and then I need to put some garage stuff in the attic and while there change out the AC filters. Busy hot day. May have to take several dips in the pool while mowing.

Boy, you guys are gonna get sick of me chiming in. Normally I'm happy to get my fix of outside projects from you all from the confines of my windowless office space.

If you'd like to take the cheap route, I've heard very good things about Windows Defender and Virus Total to scan downloads. Both are free installs.

I prefer Malwarebytes, at 45 dollars a year. It's not a bank-breaking price and offers good service that won't eat up resources.

The answer to your bloatware question is a lot. Expect to spend at least a day stripping unneeded programs out.

Best of luck and happy computing! Back to the windowless cave go I.

Something fell into pond with a huge splash last night have to investigate this morning
Well, I hope it was something interesting!!

90F today, headed to 100F for about the rest of the week.

I'm having problems with our pasture irrigation I cannot figure out. Something is weird and different this year. I turned on a 1" sprinkler near the pond yesterday, and it ran about 20 minutes before losing pressure. Gauge said only 10psi. But a short distance away, pressure is 34psi. I had a terrible time getting air purged from the system this year-- some hose bibs would wooosh out compressed air when I opened them, others would draw in a vacuum when I opened them. Need to consult a witch doctor and throw salt over my shoulder, I think!

This guy showed up on a trail cam yesterday ... everyone have a great day !!!

Morning all, 67 going to 87 and sunny.
Got the fallen tree bucked and stacked.
Did some watering.

My father tried to escape the hospital, tore off his collar and started going crazy about people stealing his things. Then he fell and was put back in bed.
He goes in for surgery this morning, hopefully they have calmed him down.
My brother is working on setting up a trip to go back to see what he can do.

M7040 - my niece just went to Vietnam and had a great time. Sounds like a fun trip, love being in Japan.
I have M12 batteries that are about 10-12 years old and work fine, still under warranty?

Forgot to take my medicine last night, a bot rough this morning.

Maybe get out the hedge trimmer today, bushes are loving this weather.

Be well,

Milking insurance perhaps
Would be nice, they came up with me being in afib more then 40% of the time on the old monitor, made a medication change and after a couple of weeks went with this monitor and scheduled an echo cardiogram again it has been a while since the last one.

On bloatware.....

My primary laptop had a Windows failure I could not get around. I ended up getting a new one. I am saddened by the constant intrusive updates, ads, feeds and general overall marketing that Windows now presses down to the "personal computer".

I run various Linux/OpenOffice secondary laptops that really are clean of the annoying Windows experience. And if by some chance they pickup something bad, I can boot a complete O/S and usable environment from a USB stick, in a matter of minutes.

And...even Android phone updates from my servicing vendor are ending up like a MS Windows experience. Never fails that I have to deinstall games and programs after a "security" update.

It's all marketing and possible sales. It's out of control.

/rant off

Good Morning,
Ct, 58 to start going to 80 or so ! Another beautiful sunny day, with some afternoon clouds and humidity moving in.

Drew, we love Mahi Mahi , but yes a bit pricey ! When we were in Florida last month we ate a lot of grouper, really enjoyed that!

Yesterday I finished mowing the last 2 acres before we left for Ct. we are going back up next Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. Just till Friday afternoon, but can get the yard mowed again and refill the hummingbird feeders !

Ron beautiful picture today ! What a beautiful bird !

Lou, good luck with the new monitor along with Bill also ! I have worn those things before and can honestly say I didn’t like it ! 😒

Paul, nice job on the concrete work and water line with shut off !

Today will clean the pool this morning and add chemicals this afternoon!

Hope all have a good Tuesday! 🙏

good visit with my oncologist. The smartest of all my docs.
He looked at my last CT scan and asked if I knew I had a hiatal hernia.
no.... well you do, minor.
No one else caught that. His father is a doc and a good friend of mine, smart doctor family.
he thinks seasonal allergies kicked off a meniere's reaction as to why I was so sick.
maybe...
bottom line is they simply don't know. No change there.

tomorrow is a four hour nuclear cardiac stress test. Groan to the fourth power

I'd like to take a dip in one of your pools, Don have fun in yours.

....

Pricey is Chilian Sea Bass. Saw it day before yesterday at 34.99 a pound.

I usually cough at anything over 10 dollars a pound, meats included.

So I eat a lot of chicken and lettuce. LOL

good morning all
66 going to 86 today in sun and clouds, should be nice.
limiting myself to one cup of coffee, have 8am appt with oncologist and my BP always tops 160 in his office.
maybe white coat disease, likely me just being fat...
at least I get to confirm with him my cancer did not come back.

Costco run yesterday was successful, found some nice mahi mahi for 10 bucks a pound, that will be dinner one night.
also got their frozen lasagna and a few other items not found in supermarkets. Nice to try something different.
what a madhouse in there, no concept of lane control, came out to parking lot and folks honking at each other.
Glad to get out of there. And then my Costco card would not work at gas pump. Oh well.

maybe I will finally get to work on insulating the rv motor cover today. I have been procrastinating like mad with it.
new laptop shows up today, setting that up later will take a while. Bought a new mouse for it (don't like track pads at all), carry case
and a small surge protector. This way I can give the old case and mouse to my friend getting the laptop next.

biggest challenge in setting up pc is remembering program passwords.
I wonder how much bloatware comes with new pc...

Drew why do you need more than Windows provides? Never had a problem well except fighting with 3rd party Anti Virus software.

me too Rip, ten bucks a pound is my limit before I look elsewhere.
I buy salmon when it drops from 12 to 10; it was ten bucks at Costco for giant pieces yesterday.
ocean scallops were 18 dollars at Costco, good value actually.
and then my favorite seafood, which is like a great big scallop, is
Florida stone crab. They are stupidly expensive and only a special occasion dinner.
Need to have a good mustard or remoulade sauce for expensive crabs like that.

I forgot to take the donuts I got at Costco yesterday to doc's office this morning. Sigh.
But gave them to lawn guys who are out weedeating now and big smiles there.
donuts are just not on my diet. And I can't give them to Ken...

though I admit I crumpled when I saw the Costco six pack of apple turnovers.
shoulda, coulda, but didn't...they came home. After eating one and feeling mildly sugar highed, I wrapped the others
in freezer baggies and froze them.
I'll dole them out when I need some comfort food.
