Mostly, alert was she used the credit card, so I knew she was on her way out.

Nice day today.
Good breakfast.
Got some tree limbs trimmed this afternoon, some young trees cut out of forsythias. Sprayed black and orange bugs inside and outside of the south side of barn.
Snagglepuss curled up in my hoodie
Grilled burgers for supper.
Printed my history spreadsheet on 16 pages, 2wide landscape, 8 down. Not sure how I’ll mount it, maybe find big piece cardboard. Have dad’s line of genealogy on 12 sheets on trifold poster board, 2 wide portrait, 3 down in 2 columns.
Finally got upstairs thermostat to connect to network. Had to pull battery to erase it first, before it finally connected.

wo bit, and other Texans, is there a place along the Texas shore you would recommend visiting/staying at?
this would be early October.

if I can get oceanside I will try.

lot of rv campgrounds in that area, not a lot of state parks I could find
It has been a long time since we have done any RVing on the coast. There is a RV park on Galveston Island and I saw something recently about a nice RV place near Crystal Beach. Both on the blue line on the attached map. We also have stayed at a individually owned park in Galveston that was nice, reasonable and close in. Dont remember the name and not sure it's still there.

Let me think a little.

My brother just posted pics of my grandfathers place, new owner bulldozed it all, it’s all gone. The house dad was born in 100 years ago, was almost 200 years old.
Very sorry to read about this.

Trend up over 6%?
Yes, I think it will given time. Since the early 80's there was a lot of talk about fees being too low. They have always been negotiatable. After the splits that 6% dwindles down a lot. Now this could create an opportunity to negotitate up.

Drinking cup of hot coffee. 30° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 40° with some breaks in clouds for sun. Birthday party yesterday was fun watching all the kids play with new toys. Did my usual walks with Sassy. No plans for today. Some NASCAR on TV in afternoon.
Yesterdays sunrise.

Buckeye, sorry to hear GF place leveled. Same happened with my Dads place. It was zoned commercial. It was going to happen after it sold.

Prayers and best wishes for everyone.

Good Morning All.

good morning all
no idea why I'm up early on a Sunday morning
surprisingly warm outside now, about 50 but cooling trend for coming week.
At least this warm weather woke up the Spring flowers.

Dennis, when my family found out that zoning allowed the buyer of our farm to tear down our 1720 stone colonial home, keep the foundation,
and then build a garage there, well we were shocked. They built a garish 12,000 sf home there instead with winding staircases like Tara.
and then they wondered why they couldn't sell it. 70 percent of our farm went into permanent land preservation, best deal we could work out.
one builder offered a million more to level the place and put in fifty houses. We figured our grandfather would roll over in his grave if that happened.
So we worked out a deal where builder could put ten two million dollar homes back in deep woods where no one could see them at all, and the farm fields were preserved. All the neighbors came to the contiguous landowner meetings and were 100 percent in favor of it.

just have to look at Riptides to see what is involved in bringing back old buildings. And Frits with his giant beams.
Easier for many to just pay the demo man.

all those memories though.

hope to have a quiet day, "dhobi" to do
enjoy your day

Morning all!
43 and raining with a high of 51 for the day. Looks like a seasonable week ahead with temps in the 40's. At least no more rain after today.
Nothing much planned or done since last post. Will go out for Sunday visit to one of my sisters this morning.
Might try some yard work if things start to dry out this week. Need to contact the guy with the old tractor and see what's going on with that?
I still have a weird feeling in my chest and a cough lingering from that flu bug but it's not bad enough for any meds. Seems to be getting better.
Did some work in the woodshop rearranging things for easier clean ups. Was also able to make a few smaller projects. One larger project I did got 4 wows from my wife! She usually likes them but doesn't show that much emotion. Guess I did ok on that one. I will attach a pic.
Time for another coffee.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!
Spalted Maple and Walnut candy dish. 10 high x 6 round.

Phil, that's gorgeous.
when did you start turning wood?
looks like your skills are going up quickly and that includes finishing
I'm envious of your skills with wood, love the smell of sawdust

yes, that gets 4 wows (y)

Happy St. Patricks Day, the low this morning is 31 and going to a high of 32°f. Wind WSW 9 gusting to 17 mph. 40% chance of snow or rain.

I did absolutely nothing yesterday. No cleanup from tree felling and I am not going to do anything today either. Monday through Thursday are supposed to be below freezing, so maybe I will get a round tuit then.

The screen door project is on hold until warmer weather, so is the oil tank project.

Have a safe day all

Drew, only TX shore camping we did was South Padre Island. Some great camping. But 300 miles south of San Antonio. Corpus Cristi. May be a better choice. 150 miles.
that would be dropping down further and coming up the Texas coast longer.
might be nice
and they have an aquarium there, plus the USS Lexington carrier, Lady Lex
what a history that ship has
good idea

I look at the national/state parks first
some of them are in the best spots
