Oh my Helo. Our schools have some counselors, if there are none available, I would recommend finding one thru social services. Very traumatic. I have trouble conversing with my teenagers too. Wife is ambassador. Prayers for the families involved.
Thanks man ! And all others too !

As I am using to say - here we have brilliant medicine, you just need someone you can call in case of necessity. :) My wife is with paramedics, for sure she have some strings to pull. Right now it seems like it will be not needed. Kid is holding much better that I thought she will.

Like that "ambassador" :) Its like about us. :)
Oldest daughter now is 19, I would say that teenage madness has passed. We are talking again, directly, without ambassador :)
She just started to study medical engineering. Saturday morning she was at our place and were asking for help to explain better how to calculate efficiency of electrical motors. "Ambassador" were looking at us, not understanding a word and was like - are you studying the right thing ? Daughter was - yeah, that's really cool, like that.
She understood everything right, just messed up with terms like "nominal efficiency" and "actual efficiency". There was more, but she has got the concept right, just some terms has made confusion.
I like those things too, for sure she is not adopted :)

For me it was rather intense nigh, but now I am up, feeling rather well. It must have been some kind of virus kids brought from school. Just cold cant rise body temperature that high. IMHO

During night have got few inches of snow. But as today is "energy recovery day" I will ask my employee to plow my driveway.
Yesterday was "no pants day", I mean today is better to leave that cabrio-tractor alone. :)

That's about it.
Have a nice Thursday !

Coffee has been poured. 26° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 36 with mostly sunny skies. Tractor was deliver as promised. Seller wanted to know how come my tractor of the same age had much brighter paint than his. It had always kept in his barn. Told him I waxed mine. His comment Really. Going to be a ongoing project to add some features that my original tractor has on it. Horn, cup holder, steering wheel knob, hydraulic valve and heavy duty 3 ph top link bracket. Of course a wax job when it warms up enough. Today will be spent finding and ordering parts for the above projects.

Drew, I have tried the 2x lens extender on a couple of pictures. It works very good. Does require a tripod for good pictures. I will be using it for some bird pictures in my back field. Hope to get some photos of birds that do not come to my feeders. They fly away before I can get close enough with 600mm lens camera.

Mostly, yes MMM will be put on new tractor. FEL will be stored in barn.

Buppies, Turf tires do work very well in the snow. New tractor has Beet Juice loaded tires. I will be putting them on my old tractor. Do not need loaded tires to mow grass.

Everyone stay well and safe.

Good Morning All.

good morning all
27 going up to high 40's in sunshine today, should be a nice day

had a wonderful dinner with family last night, all four siblings together, we continue to be grateful
we are still all here. Had a nice home made lasagna dinner. Was particularly nice to see my sister from CA
who I don't see very much.

no plans for today.

Ron, I misunderstood the new tractor, thought a neighbor was getting it, you are always helping your neighbors but
it's going to be your number two. An excellent new project for you.

ok, my brain appears to be working now, Ron you will be mowing with the new to you Kubota using a mid mount mower. You have a nice place for it, and for sure those big
turf tires will give you a soft ride.

Bridgestone used to make some very expensive turf tires named Pillow tires. Good name for a comfy tire I guess.
My very first tractor came with well worn turf tires. It was my first tractor and I wanted to play in the dirt so of course I wanted ag tires
And boy did I get them, wonderful BKT lug tires that were silly big for the tractor BUT, they were the equivalent size as the turf tires and fit the wide rims.
I loved that tractor. 23hp Mitsubishi diesel was smoothest diesel engine I've ever owned. When I left for NC I had ten grand invested in this tractor, and it was in
beautiful shape. 1000 hours. It would not fit on shipper's truck so at last minute I gave it to my church. I had a new cab Kubota so I thought I'd be fine. What a mistake.
Sure learned the more the merrier.

Sad ending to this story though I hope someone has fixed it back up. No one took care of it at church, became a non runner, and sold for 600 bucks. That Land Pride mower was almost new....and we all know they aren't cheap. I was utterly appalled at their waste of my donation and it has created a rift that remains to this day, as no one apologized for the terrible stewardship and the waste of an asset. And to make this worse, the only person who could have prevented this, who owned a tractor, who was a mechanic of sorts, and knew how well I took care of things, he apparently did nothing to prevent this. And we would sit side by side at church year after year.
And he hasn't volunteered any explanations either. I'm trying to compartmentalize my feelings and put it behind me.
Folks screw up. But don't cover it up, don't be dishonest.
hard for me to get sour taste out of my mouth. Probably because I had restored that tractor so carefully.

only tractor I owned with an unhappy ending.
all the rest have put nothing but smiles on my face and I hope they are all happy in NC. Where they will be used
on real farms. I'm told the landscaper who bought my big Massey absolutely loves it, my old neighbor sees new owner at local
beanery occasionally. He uses it in business and also on his own farm.

Ron, like you, I'm a waxer. I found if I got a good coat of something slippery on that mower deck, the field grass would slide off pretty easily.
Besides, easy to do when brand new.
Though I must have used leaf blower on tractor before I took that pic, couldn't have been that clean after mowing

Good morning, we are at the high for today, 30°F. Wind S 16 mph. Snow, about an inch, on top of the inch we got on Sunday.

Furnace oil ordered and should be here today. That will make my tank almost full going into the new year. Perfect!

Jobs for today, plow driveway and see to the rest.

Have a safe day all

Seller that I bought tractor from was so happy that I bought it from him And would take good care of it. I always wonder how big things like boats and RV’s that have my personal touch have made it thru the years. I have heard from boat owners and Motorhome owners. They are still happy owners years later. Cars not so much. They were primarily transportation. Selling them was because I needed a new one.

Good morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

19.0F going to maybe 50, sunny day.

Stuffed the woodstove, downstairs HVAC came on at 6:15, made for a perfect alarm clock. Good 5” bed of coals, opened the air , added two logs, everything toasty again 😎👍

Poor Bailey has @n@l glands that fill up quite rapidly, and she started scooting again. We were able to get a vet appointment same day, so did a little bit of odds-n-ends errands while out. But it was generally an energy conservation day. Finished with a good sauna session.

Today mom needs to take some items to the local seamstress for alterations — she normally does it herself but denim is a little stiff for her to hand sew, so we will also probably do lunch out and hit some thrifts and see what treasures can be procured… and the final food pantry donation of eggs for the year will be dropped off— 15 dozen today, 72 dozen YTD. Our birds are quite productive!!!

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe blessed day!

Good Morning
27° and clear.

Yesterday, I got things rearranged in the shop for winter with the tractor at the door, didn’t put the snow plow on it yet, but that’s just a SSQA mount, so it’s a couple of minutes at most, even with connecting the hydraulic lines for the angle cylinder.
Took all the drain oil to my friends shop in 5 gallon pails. When he came out to help unload them, he noticed that the inspection sticker on the KubVan was expired. Fortunately his shop is an inspection station, and we pulled it right in an d got it inspected. Didn’t need anything. But that’s not surprising as it only drove 500 miles last year, and is parked in a climate controlled garage.
Did a few more chores when I got home, but then had to head out to the airport. Was windy, but pretty smooth ride overall. Had a nice dinner with copilot and my friend that picked us up at the airport, was back home and in bed by 11:30. Wife was asleep,Zoe was excited to see me….

Today starts with breakfast with the professor, it’s a wild card after that, with lots of possibilities. Not likely any of them will involve a couch.

Got back from Houston yesterday early enough to hit the leaves/pine needles with the backpack blower.

Trip was good and results exceeded expectations.

Yesterday was the last day for candidates to file for the March 2024 Primary elections.

The Houston Mayor/Council election produced a more conservative Council. They don’t run on Party ticket but the undertone is there.

As if I don’t have enough projects on my plate, I would like to expand the capabilities of our Case tractor, which only has a single hydro control for the three-point.

I put a thread over here:

if anyone wants to throw a pair of pennies in…

😁

Ain’t nowhere cheap no more…
I about added that also. But I expect waitress service to be higher than counter service. 5 guys does have a good burger and fries, I’ll go a couple times a year.
We went to a new “firebird” restaurant recently they had a very good, but expensive burger. That might be a once a year place.

That reminds me, I have the front snow blade for the BX, and tire chains. Maybe I should put them on. Blade is buried in the barn. But the L3940 has a heated cab.
Friend of mine left Sunday for a meeting in Houston. Only time I was there was back around 1981 when I went to help my oldest sister move from there back to Ohio. Dad and I took turns driving a small uhaul truck back. The truck still had the behind the seat gas tank, which was small, and we found out how small the first time we ran out of gas along an interstate. Then it seemed we filled up about every other exit.
I put rear remotes on the L5030. About $1200 at the time, not too hard as I got the factory ones that are made to bolt right on.

Good Morning all ~ 32 going to 75º today. We love our winter weather. Bundle up in the morning and shed layers between 9 and noon, then start putting them back on after 3 pm... if you can find where you left em, hung on a hook in the barn or tossed on the car roof in the garage. Maybe on the chair in the kitchen or office? Not a bad problem to have. No big plans today. Will finish a little work at home and go visit a friend whose wife is ill. Need to sweep the floor in the hobby shop where I've been making wire harnesses this year. Need to get back to the model airplane hobby this year. I love a good biplane or warbird
