Good morning, the low is 20 and the high to 25°F. Wind NNW 9 mph. Snow.

I know what I am doing for about 3 or so hours today. Block heater turned on already. Weatherman forecasted for about 4" and we certainly got that and more. :)

We up here in CAnuckistan are not allowed to defend our property using deadly force, we are supposed to call the cops (25 miles away) and let them handle it.
So about 20 years ago I had a tennant that asked me if she could have a (one, un, ein) dog. After I got back from up north in the fall, there were 6 Rottweilers here.
Word got around that I was breeding Rotties and training them. I never shot down that theory. It is an outright lie. In fact I told her when I got home that I okayed 1 dog, not 6, so she had a choice keep one and get rid of the rest and she had 30 days to do so or I would get rid of them on day 31. She whined and cried and got rid of 5 dogs. With 6 dogs she needed a kennel license, which she didn't have and didn't intend to get.

When we first moved in here, one of the neighbours who was a bit loopy spread it around that we were mafia hit men in hiding. lol I was driving around in a 1985 Dodge 3/4 ton truck. She can R.I.P. she died about 10 years ago.

Have a safe day all

44 outside this AM, heading to lower 50's.

Not much on the agenda today. Making arrangements to deal with in-laws and SIL.

Pretty stressful w/e. No relief in sight.

Hope all have a great day and a good start to the work week.

39 going to 58. Hoping for sunshine. Stayed damp all day yesterday.

Saw the son and family off after a nice breakfast and pour overs for everyone. Quiet now.

Found videos and photos of two thru-hikers that passed through the 11,000 acre wildfire area, now that the AT is reopened. Looks in much better shape than I thought. Also read the forest service preliminary report. Seems the wind pushed the fire so fast it only had time to burn off the leaves and ground clutter in that area. Hoping most trees will likely survive. Will ultimately make for a much healthier forest.

Never care about signs keeping respectable people of the land, but I do understand why some landowners post their land.
I have gut feeling next year Mrs. will have signs etc.
I always thought the signs were to give you legal recourse against the NON-respectable people.
Good Afternoon Thomas,

I don’t have any signs on our property, not really a fan of them, but can also understand why some landowners have to do it ! I have an agreement with a few of my neighbors, that they can traverse through our property, and they let me do the same ! It’s a nice arrangement, that gives me some serious hiking territory!

Have a good day watching some football Thomas ! 🙏
Signs can be a big pain, especially if the law states you are supposed to post them like:
How do I legally post property in Vermont?
Signs must:
  1. Be placed at all corners of your property (or the portion you wish to post) and spaced 400 feet or less apart along or near boundaries,
With many acres of land that requires a lot signs and sign maintenance.
Consequently my land in Vermont is not posted.
But (thankfully) in Mississippi the trespassing law is different. One must have permission to roam others land, thus posting is not required.

Good Morning Guys,
Ct, 34 to start going to 48 ! Sunny skies for a change, hopefully get some outside time today !

Ron, sorry you have to deal with unwarranted charges on the phone ! One of my most unfavorite things to do ! Just wasted time IMO ! Good luck finding a real person to talk to !

LS, nice job on deck construction!

Phil, beautiful job on the bowl ! BTW, I received the live center while I was on vacation, seems to be good quality! Have not done too much with the lathe yet, although I did bring it up out of the basement and started to wire wheel it and clean up for paint ! Talk about a long range project ! 😁

For all the guys on this thread, I’m using Phil for some lathe advice, since he is our resident wood lathe expert ! I am in the process of very slowly building two sculptured rockers for my grand daughters out of black walnut, and needed some wood lathe advice !

Here is a picture of the rocker that I will be building !

Hope all have a blessed and safe day ! 🙏

Good Morning!!!! 48F @ 5:00AM. Areas of dense morning fog. Sunny. High 66F. Winds light and variable.

Got a couple LED fixtures hung up yesterday, but didn't seem to put out as much light as I expected. Much better than nothing at all, though.

Got a little bit better organized in the garage, and I think I'm all set for some Vanagon work. At least the sun will be out today.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a good start.

Good Morning
44° outside, probably the high for the upcoming week. At least the sun is out. Yesterday’s drizzle added up to about .6”.

It was a lazy, energy conserving day. Spent a good bit of it inside with Zoe, some time in the shop, and met one of the guys buying the Bonanza that flew up from FL to actually see it. He was very favorably impressed. Apparently my description of “perfect” was understated.
We had a late dinner and called it day.

Going back to meet this morning to hopefully wrap things up. Not a lot else planned.

Ugh, Monday. Back to work day. Ordered a drag harrow for the gravel driveways. Areas around the house and barns is 3/4 rock. I have been dragging chainlink fence around for 20 yrs. Finally bought a purpose built tool. TS wanted $200 more (with $99 delivery - even to the local store) than Amazon. Arrives Tuesday.
Need to do some inventory and reorder work after orders are filled today. Then about 1 hr tractor time smoothing the field for mowing next year. Ground prep work will pay off when the mowing starts up. Spent 1.5 hrs filling and smoothing the widows place down the road yesterday. Her late husband and helper make piles of limbs and logs everywhere  Makes mowing impossible. I cut a bunch of logs and limbs up and made one big pile and smoothed off a pile of dirt and badly rutted pathway so next yrs mowing would go easier. No charge - It will forever save me time and aggravation.
Asked for the help to stop making piles everywhere. That place needs a full clean up. Piles of discarded chit and vehicles looks like moonshiners live there. :sneaky:
Looked at a dead tree next to the house that needs to be removed.
Hope you all have a great week.

my kingdom for a 7.50 plumbing adapter
if the installer had used this in the beginning...
decided not to go pex, just will double clamp all hose fittings.
got some grey latex caulk and now to put it back together.

hard to believe they charge seven bucks for a 99 cent fitting
unlike the other it threaded back nicely

In North Carolina, a stripe of purple paint, at least 8 inches high, the bottom of which is at least three feet above the ground but less than 5 feet above the ground, is legally considered a “No Trespassing/Posted” sign and addresses the need to post/place expensive signs over large perimeters.
