young man is learning the reality of restoring old stuff
it's not all about the money

I have been seriously procrastinating working on that rv toilet so I went down to the basement
and finally, after all this time, pulled the pump assembly off the hot tub.
I do believe I found the problem.
ordered a set of two of each rubber washers for ten bucks.
could have fixed it with a tube of silicone but not when a simple part is available

maybe I'll get lucky and get the hot tub working again

well off I go to stick my face in the toilet. First part is loosening the bad connection.
Second is unbolting from floor. Really hope there is no step three other than new connectors.
But I have plenty of pex tubing to start from scratch if need be. I know I have one section I want to replace.
It works great but looks really sketchy.
I already removed the bidet seat and put that in basement.

consider that he last 100K to bit coin transactions and that there is an underground highway from coast to coast that we should go down to save ourselves
Bitcoin is also based upon dubious promises and believing them. Caveat investor.

tangible assets - items with intrinsic value that can touch and exchange - don’t have those issues, but they are sometimes difficult to transport and/or engage in transactions at a distance.

but a box of nails is always worth a box of nails, regardless of the number behind the “$” sign (or €\£\¥\etc sign) printed on the tag on the box.

Leave the signs up. There’s more hunting seasons than just deer.

Wait until he starts dealing with the reality of new stuff and comes up against “Right To Repair” issues, especially since he is cutting his teeth on JD…

Good morning! Low of 24°, heading towards 44°, sunny, but windy with 35-40 mph gusts. Some clouds this afternoon, but no precipitation in the 7 day forecast.

Built the new address post, recruited the GS to dig the hole for me this afternoon. Too much trouble to hook up the PHD for one hole..... I have a Donk! (Who remembers what a "Donk" is?). Pics once installed.....

Gave up on doing anything else in the shop.... just too cold. Fired up the propane heater, but couldn't get the chill off----(me, not the shop). Will attempt again today, but might just wait until the temps moderate this week.

Everyone have a great day!

Morning all, 51 going to 52 and raining, was warm enough last night the bugs were out!

Might go to HF to get a new floor jack for the truck. My little one is no where big enough to reach it, no less lift it.

Got some more lights out front with newly acquired power cords. I must have enough power cords to wire up the block :)

tests came back, these are simpler tests but don't show anything obvious.
More tests to come if I can get the specialist to accept me.

Be well,

68°F and .23 inches rain.

I did get my electric system tweaked. Also added in 2 small MeanWell chargers to run from the generator. Other than basis on/off test unable to confirm if they work as desired as the battery voltage was too high by the time I finished. Did not get triggered to run overnight. Oh well, not a bad thing.

Probably watch some football.

Ground still too soggy for mowing.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

I saw on the news here a report that some overly self-important people who were supposed to fly to Dubai for a conference on why it would never snow again (unless everyone except them gave up all their modern conveniences and most necessities) could not get their private jets unfrozen from the tarmac…
I have seen this pic

Have no idea is it true or just trolling

My first flight delayed for 1 hour
Planned was 1 hour layover in FRA.

Not a chance to save anything
System rebooked me for flight at 20:40

Now I am siting at airport, trying to figure out what to do with 3 hours and that 10 € food coupon 😁
3 hours is a bit short to go to city. Germans have really neat Xmas markets, would love to visit one.
But I guess I will turn to reading of TBN instead 😁

Never care about signs keeping respectable people of the land, but I do understand why some landowners post their land.
I have gut feeling next year Mrs. will have signs etc.

Good Afternoon Helo,
3 hours is a bit short to go to city. Germans have really neat Xmas markets, would love to visit one.

Would love to go to Frankfurt with you ! I could show all the Germans how terrible my German is !

Actually my Lithuanian friends complemented me on my German while on vacation with them ! 😁

Raining, raw and cold here ! Did a bunch of Christmas cards for Kathleen after church, and now just watching some football with my feet up !

Don, nice clean out of the machine shed !

Hope all have a relaxing day ! 🙏

Good Afternoon Thomas,

I don’t have any signs on our property, not really a fan of them, but can also understand why some landowners have to do it ! I have an agreement with a few of my neighbors, that they can traverse through our property, and they let me do the same ! It’s a nice arrangement, that gives me some serious hiking territory!

Have a good day watching some football Thomas ! 🙏

Good Morning!!!!. 57F @ 11:00AM. More clouds than sun. High 64F. Winds SE at 10 to 20 mph.
Windy, chilly day yesterday, pretty much hung out inside. Only 0.02" of rain from all those clouds. Might pick up another half inch on Wednesday, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Found a couple unused 4' LED lights out in the office trailer, so I'll get those hung today to light up the welding and work benches. More surface mining needed out there, too.

Not sure what the rest of the day will bring.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend...

So far, success! Got the address sign installed,

IMG_1252.jpeg

Then started on the deck frame prepping for being repurposed.

IMG_1253.jpeg

Still need to add a couple of braces and some cross blocking.
The weather is supposed to cooperate this week with sun and temps up into the 50's. I'm hoping to get started on adding to the existing back deck.

Almost time to call it quits for the day......

When we had trouble with a contiguous lot owner trespassing, I decided to have some fun. In addition to all the traditional signs, I added in a couple like “Please Do Not Feed the Ducks” and ”Falling Rock Zone” among others…

34F on/off rain snow combo, one weather station 1"-3" another saying 4"-6" only thing for sure has to be dealt with. :(

Wagtail , wondering what kind of wood you guys burn in the winter ?
Do you use the Waddle tree wood ?
What is considered hard wood down their ?
Wattle tree wood rarely grows thick enough to use for heating firewood.
Mostly we use certain types of eucalypt for firewood, "ironbark" being the best. Also certain pine trees, like a "she-oak".
Other than 'non-native' hardwoods that you'd be familiar with, most eucalypt trees are considered a hardwood, including the Blackwood trees on my property.
