Kilroy, putting that apple in with the pork sounds wonderful. Have to remember that.
a little natural sweetness
Also adds a little body to the sauce. 😁👍

for TxDon that pork is not attractive.
I'm thinking his lookalike probably is nicely seasoned and very good too.

sure does look melt in your mouth.
that's what I call meat candy.

Frits, you looked very fit when I saw you. (unlike me)
I think when you set your mind to something, you get it done.
Like Don does.

time to get moving, bring in empty trash cans, get in ice cold car and go downtown looking for lights.
let there be lights.

One of the things I always enjoyed with a pork roast was throwing in some quartered potatoes and letting them roast in the pan drippings. It was always a debate in my family as to whether it was better to turn them and let the, get browned on all sides, or not turn them and let the bottom get super-crunchy…

Good Morning.
29° with a high of 45° (figured I’d use the degree symbol on the iPad)
Rain this afternoon.

Yesterday’s breakfast was good, conversation was interesting, as usual.
My friend taught Constitutional History at the college level after he retired as a lawyer, so he is fairly knowledgeable. We have similar political leanings, so the conversation isn’t as “spirited” as it could be.

Got my wife and her alpaca wares loaded into-

After that chased down details for the sale of my friend’s plane. Had an interesting visit at the space that he rents to a Fiskars repair shop. Interesting cars, but way behind in technology from what I can see.

Got a full pork Tenderloin ready to go into the smoker this afternoon. It should be a nice test of the new FireBoard Drive controller. I postponed the hydraulic oil change until the 17 gallon drain pan I ordered arrives.

IMG_2294.jpg

This should make it a lot easier, and at less than 7” tall it will work for all my other machinery and vehicles. Just periodically pump it out into pails to take to get burned in the waste oil heater in another buddy’s shop.

All the talk of soup creep made me chuckle. This is a 20qt pot cooling off in the garage. Turkey based starting with the Thanksgiving carcass and bits from carving the 22lb beast.

Today I have a few more things to chase down for the airplane sale, have to help my wife figure out the best way. To set up display racks for the second market she is doing this weekend, actually our youngest son will man that show while she is at the other one.

Then I’ll fire up the smoker and think about what sides I’m gonna make for dinner.

Morning, 27 going up to 49 and some sun, rain later
Got Christmas tree last night, trimmed the lower branches and ready for wife to decorate.
More tests today, bloodwork etc.
Maybe get some yardwork done if I get some time before it rains.

I boil the turkey bones with some spices etc. and make a few 2-cups servings of stock for cooking.

Wish they had earlier appointments for blood work, 10:15 splits the morning too much.

Be well,

Good Morning Guys,
Ct, 31 to start going to Wow 49 !:)

TxDon, excellent post on what needs to be done on to stay at home ! We went through all of this with my parents a few years back. We were there 2 or 3 times per week shuttling food for them and then of course the doctor visits also, those were extra trips on a regular basis ! It was a lot of work on my wife and myself, but they wanted to die at home, and we wanted to make that happen for them !

Kyle, while working as a modelmaker for Pitney Bowes, we had a 3 axis and 5 axis Maho machining center. So I vaguely remember some of the G codes and programing ! Also the machine zero and part zero etc,,, I did do a few interesting jobs on the 3 axis, mostly polycarbonate or aluminum, so easy machining !

Two of the grands are here, so very busy, and all of a sudden the kitchen sink not draining correctly, Bill, so need to pull that all apart sometime today !:unsure:

A picture of story time last night with Nana !

Hope all have a blessed and safe day !

Kilroy, no question, super crunchy every time

over a hundred bucks for led lights, whoa, got two extras for neighbor, she can pick what color she wants

now out to put old fashioned (but LED) colored bulbs around a 12 foot tree outside near the garage, with a nice pole
I have with a hook on the end of it.
round and round and round I go
this one's for the neighbor's kids

You got me thinking I need to kick start the wishing well lights today (y) I leave them up year round. It eliminates a lot of fiddling with putting them up and taking them down. LED strip lighting is barely visible in the off season.

What are the larvae feasting upon that enables hatching all through the winter?
They came in during September and October because Junior couldn't be bothered closing the windows when it got cooler out.
They seem to congregate in the litter trays for the cats. I get into the bathroom and hose them down first thing in the morning and a couple of times a day, too. You might say that I kill them on sight.
I get more with the spray than by swatting. Spraying them just stops them from flying and then I swat them, sometimes. With the spray it only takes them about 5 minutes to die.

nice to be able to use the outside outlet on rv for xmas lights
went to put lights on the larger of these two evergreens, both of which I planted several years ago.
Big one now too big for me, happy to settle for smaller one

really want to wash rv today after turning water back on.
will see if I have the energy.

did get the big wood and plastic blocks out and relevelled the rv about four inches above the gravel so
metal rams would not be extended so far all winter
might work on the toilet later this weekend, too much other stuff competing for attention.

had to get rid of an old friend today
last time for being so close
so intimate
so caring
but he's worn out and lost all his zip-per.
my pea green brown leather collared ancient LL Bean duck barn coat finally bit the dust.
Zipper finally failed. didn't care the sleeves were frayed, coat was seriously stained, looked truly ratty,
it's the one I always wore when I knew I was going to get dirty.
one tough coat, probably got 15 years out of it, including true farm time.
Good zipper would cost a third of a new coat around here.

almost bought a Carharrt replacement. Their 110 barn coat is on sale for 90 at TSC.
I just wish the label was extra. I don't like to wear labels or advertise.
So I found a well rated clone on Amazon for ten bucks less with a similar little square
logo but no name, just a little design.
I understand if you buy a Gucci, and I never have, you want the G to show.
But Carrhart?
You want to know I wear Hanes too?..................

I'm out decorating that tree this morning and my broken coat is hanging open without a zipper
and underneath is my broken fleece zipper sweater, with a broken zipper.
I must be hard on zippers. So everything is open but thankfully not cold as I was working pretty hard at it
and having a little ventilation was a plus.
But I laughed at myself and thought I was looking like a bum and go buy a new coat.
which I did. Old one was a better coat, I doubt its replacement will last as long.
But then, neither will I...

battery pack low
report to charging station
ok

Ok - I was worried that some rodents had hidden access and die from poison, then fester in dark corners…

Drew you can spray your exposed chrome sections of the rams with some fluid film for extra protection.
