Frits, skiing here on the Big Island. Yup, it happens, but not every year. No lifts or any infrastructure. I believe most popular is the pickup truck lift. A group skis and 1 member is at end point with pickup and drive them back up. Snowboarding more popular as it’s closer to surfing. Every now and then a story of someone ending up in a lava field with less than pretty results.
People also truck snow down for their kids or sometimes that pickup bed becomes a large beer cooler.

Not me or Soph, left all our stuff on the mainland years ago.

those lions look like they need to get a job...;)
Good Afternoon Frits,
The lion pictures are great ! Thanks !

I was on St. Croix back in 1970, on vacation with my parents ! I rented a Honda 175 motorcycle, and rode into town, the group that was standing around in the down town area didnt look too friendly, so I got out of there pretty quick ! A couple of months later, we read how some golfers were killed on one of the golf courses there !
I guess things have returned to normal a few years after that, probably realizing that with out tourists the economy would suffer immensely !

Drew, thanks for the humor ! :)

I gave up on the toilet plumbing. Only way to do it properly unless I am a genuine midget
is to pull the toilet out since it is literally jammed in a corner. Problem is it was custom installed, too big for space,
wood behind toilet cut out to fit, nice job caulking, almost looks oem. But I got my big ceramic toilet.
I just don't want to tear that out unless I have to; i.e. something is leaking and no choice.

needed to fill water tank up at least half way, about 25 gallons. first two stops on trip may have turned water off before I get there.
I usually only carry about 5 gallons of water, enough to flush the toilet and wash my hands. No sense hauling extra weight around.

when I was all done replacing the leaking hose with pex, used my handy portable air pump and put as close to 20 psi in bladder as possible.
the slightest touch shot pressure up to 40 (rated 120) because it was so small, so I had to fiddle with pump, let out, pump, let out, let out. Stop.

I would really like to partition off that area so no water can run over on the electric wires. Just seems like sloppy work the way it is.
There is a ground bus right on the floor with exposed wiring. I suppose I should be grateful it's not a hot bus...

might go out in a little bit and do a little waxing, on a sunny afternoon, very pretty out
