I had to chuckle at this
I get hundreds of invites to educational conferences, this is typical

Start planning now for the 2023–2024 school year, and join us for the People of Color Conference and NAIS Annual Conference!
St. Louis is home to the blues, cultural attractions, a rich civil rights history, and an exciting culinary scene. And it’s the perfect destination to learn, engage, and reflect

After what Paul/PJS told us, these folks are more likely to get mugged downtown, they want exciting dining?
they sure might get it

Sun has been out for a bit, warmed up to a humid 82.
Fed the birds, chased the neighbors cat away from my birdfeeders.
We don't have a leash law for cats in this township.
if the owner lets the cat run free, it knows exactly where the birds are,
and I watched it crouch down and stalk toward them from thirty feet away.
Might as well have been a lion going after an antelope.

no, I am not feeding these birds deluxe bird seed with nuts and berries
so that they taste better for my local cat.
need to chat with owner.
Visit Beautiful St Louis!

Come for the food and music!
Stay for your autopsy!

Five tornadoes confirmed in Northern Ohio last night, still have 136,000+ without power.

Still cloudy here, despite WeatherBug claiming we have partly cloudy skies.

Just finished off the Tuna Helper.

Got about 2/3rd’s of underside of the Cub deck cleaned off.

Pretty good amount caked up on it but I got before it got so bad that the blades were hitting it.

Blades seem in decent shape, probably still swap them out for the new ones though.

Likely go refill hopper and tube feeders and finish up the Cub tomorrow.

Within a couple of hours of needing to check and adjust the valves if needed (@ 500 hours)

Have a good evening all …

Successful trip for IPhone battery replacement. Took longer than previously for my phone.... 2 hours. Guess they were busy.

So, while waiting for the phone, went over to the Habitat for Humanity restore shop. There were big packs of new insulation ..... except they were marked at $90 a pack. Told the manager that the price was almost double what Home Depot sells it for. He basically just shrugged his shoulders and walked away.....I like supporting charity, but that's ridiculous!

Going to head back tomorrow for a couple other things, so I'll show the price from HD to see if they will at least match the price..... it's not like they actually purchased it for stock.... it was "donated"......

Needless to say, didn't get to do the mulch.....

Storm moved really close ---- but as usual, no rain here. Hope the chances are better tomorrow.....

ERCOT is asking everyone to conserve energy from 3pm to 10pm because of the extreme heat (103˚) and forecasted low wind-power generation. Seems like they would have learned their lesson and not depend on Mother Nature to help out when they need her most.
Hope the Tesla owners plug in after 10pm.
Many people I'm asking down here, say their A/C runs from 2-9pm continuous, and that the house gets higher than the set temp on the thermostat. Mine is set at 78F, and we are holding at 80F at 6:30pm. 109F high today, 106F now.

74 high of 96 strong storms maybe big cool down coming. You are right mostly

Waiting for schedule on skin cancer removal kidneys do not look good off metforman lots new doctors to see

Prayers for all our Country hope rswyan did not wash away
Prayers Buppies. Prayers for comfort for you and your wife...and for your medical team to make the right decisions.

Good Morning! Very hot, very dry. For specifics I'd have to look at the weather and that's just depressing so all you get this morning is a general weather report.
Costco run did not happen yesterday, my knee was acting up and I could not put weight on it, had to resort to the three wheeled walker. Feeling better today, but it will be an easy day, don't need to crash before my knee operation in November. It was feeling so good on the 3 mile hike I was thinking of postponing surgery, not now.
I need to get to the estate house to get it ready but it will have to wait.

Prayers Buppies.

Edit: Looked at weather 77˚ heading to 103˚, it will be in the hundreds for 7 hours today, no rain for the last 8 weeks grass is crisp, except in irrigated yards. My one day of irrigation watering was yesterday and I did take advantage of it. Neighbors trees are dying, he does not water enough. There was one lady in the neighborhood (not on my street) who died in January. Her daughter came from Australia took a few things from the house turned off all utilities and left. The yard and all trees are dead, the vines on the house are brown and it really looks haunted. We figure it must be a reverse mortgage house. The HOA might have to step in to get it to community standards.
Here is the world's most boring video I just took, no talking, only grass crunching. Last 10 seconds is the crunchiest.

My mom's a/c is acting up again. I had replaced the relay, and it was working. There might be a problem with her operation of it. Her close up sight is so bad.

Today marks 22 years with my beautiful bride. I would say "I do" all over again in a heartbeat. She keeps me in line too.

Prayers for our team, for rain down here, for our country, for peace in Ukraine.

77°F and hazy this morning, got up to 100° here today. That's just hot by any account. Humidity was brutal, too. AC units at work just couldn't keep up this week. Fortunately, everyone there understood, and were having a pretty good time with the jokes about it. Knowing today was the last day of this heat wave probably helped. Skies started rumbling quite loudly around 5pm. Not much rain, but the little pop-up thunderstorms brought with them much cooler air. Highs this weekend will only be in the low to mid 80s. I'm OK with that.

Long week at work. Lots of personnel issues. One guy took his frustrations out on a machine today, and earned an early start to his weekend.

We are, indeed, all thinking about you, Buppies. You got this one, too.

Happy Anniversary, Mr. & Mrs. _in_Tex.

Good evening, gents.

PJ, been thinking of getting one of those hoists myself.
They are really quite handy. They had a couple of them at the last place I worked, used to lift heaving tooling on and off the CNC tube bending machines. Amazing how you can easily lift a 1500 lb hardened steel tool with just a few pulls on a chain. This one lifted the front end of the ztr mower like it wasn't even there.

Amazon.com

Wish now I'd bought one years ago.
