TBS,
Just take a look at the NE, RI is planning a big wind farm off the coast, and now the GREEN people are at odds with each other ! One side sees the wind as our saviour, and the other side sees the death knoll to the whales and off shore fishing ! Should be interesting as to whom wins this one !!

All have a good evening !
Little different...when solar panels introduce in our area green groups all jump on board even city and towns, now their high cost disposing panels etc. from long use damages etc. groups city towns now pointing the finger at one another about the cost etc. guess someone didn't do their home work...like the say...they eat there own. ;)

Scott(vt) Glad you got your F150 waxed, want todo mine?

Scott, I bought two similar O-ring kits from HF...nice kits, but only once have I found one of the O-rings in the kits fit my application, most recently to stop the leak on my water hose nozzle. But I'm hopeful next time.

Somehow the people who scream at us here in America seem to have no problem with China opening two new coal -fired generating plants every week…
Good Morning Guys,
62 to start going to 72 or so. Raining on and off with a bit of a breeze ! Certainly not the best of days. No hurry to get up from the kitchen table !

mostly_gas, sure would be glad to but the commute may kill me ! And not sure the right arm will hold up for another wax job right away !

wngsprd, yeah I know what you mean, I think they load these kits up with the more common sizes, which may or may not be the one that you need !

Kilroy_JC, exactly, lets see Greta Thunberg go scream over in China a President Xi !;)

All have a blessed and safe day !

Good Morning!!!! 68F @ 6L30AM. Abundant sunshine. High 93F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

I was able to get the plumber that installed the new jet pump out first thing yesterday morning, and he pulled out the broken elbow and temporarily capped the line it fed. That let me restore water pressure, but not the lost water. The controller for the deep well pump is supposed to cycle every five minutes, but it stopped doing that sometime last year. I've been punching the reset button whenever I think to do so, but at this rate the tanks will be a long time filling since, at this time of year, the water table is way down and the pump doesn't take long before it empties the bore and overspeeds, at which point the controller shuts it off.

So I've decided to up the pace of my move south, prioritizing high value assets like tools and motorcycles for the first loads so if there is another wildfire here, at least my personal property will survive.

Yesterday's town run got me some fresh groceries and a visit with my friend that runs the motorcycle shop, and an invite to join him today while the van is getting the replacement windshield. He's interested in some body parts off the parts Vanagon in the driveway, and I'm happy to see it put to good use. So likely we'll be seeing more of him in the near future.

My appointment is for 7:30 this morning, so I'd better get moving.

TGIF gang!

Good morning. Low of 59°, heading up to 83°. Mostly sunny, 50% chance of a thunderstorm. We have been on the wrong side of the "chances"......the last 2 days looked like we we're going to get dumped on, but not a drop.

Buppies, hang in there. Hope the docs are able to get a treatment plan together. Prayers sent.

Drew, good luck at the RV dealer.

Did a little more fine tuning of the addition estimate, forming a game plan, and organizing the materials logistics.

Maybe I'll get to finish the couple of beds and get them mulched. But... I first need to make a run into the 'big city' to get the wifey's cell phone battery replaced. By the time I get back.... might just take a nap....

Everyone have a great day!

I am drooling over a truck I saw yesterday, at rv dealer, traded in and PO traded up to a dually and a bigger fifth wheel trailer.
He actually used this for a truck camper I think.
46,000 one owner miles
guy was ocd, jacked his truck up in the winter to take the weight off the suspension. Hyper maintained it.
this was his baby. Front trailer hitch, first I've ever seen. What a great way to put a boat in the water on a
boat ramp.
6.0 diesel. No DEF. Needs to be "bulletproofed" for about 5 grand. It ran great...tight truck, big turning radius,
would pull a lot. Nice leather bucket seat Lariat interior, older style. 2006
25 grand. Someone is going to get a very nice truck.
if anyone needs a farm truck, in today's world this seems like decent value. PM me and I'll give you contact info.

I just did not fall in love with that rv. It had all the right parts but I thought it looked and felt cheap inside.
Big but insubstantial. Perhaps I need to find a much older much better built one that someone took amazing care of.

688°F and .24 inches rain.

Not sure how I spent so much money at Costco. The only meat I got was 2 bags of frozen chicken. Didn’t even have rotisserie chicken ready when I got there and I didn’t go back before checkout.

Pretty much an inside day today getting ready for tomorrow. Will be hosting the lunch meeting of the retired military guys. Besides getting food prepped for tomorrow, the house needs some attention.

My fun with Amazon continued. 3rd attempt and again UPS refused item due to improper shipping label. Ground vs 2nd Day Air. Item has lithium battery. This time I was told to keep or dispose of the item. I’ll wait a few and see how reflected in account.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Morning all, 71 going up to 82 and rain.
Got 2 more panels up. Was wondering why I was struggling to move them, until I found out the fire rated 5/8 sheets are double the weight of regular sheet rock at about 70 pounds.

Just back from taking wife to Dr.

Buppies - I hope they can get you past all this soon.

New M18 hammer drill has shipped.

I have a SodaSteam that failed under warranty. They asked for pictures, and a new one showed up a few days later. So between Acme tools and SodaStream, two companies that have stood behind their product.

I have a bunch of furring strips and another panel or two to put up. And need to do boiler autofill this weekend before heating season starts. So I will be busy the next few days. But three panels up so far, only need two more to get the mini split in and to hook the wires up and drill holes through the wall and......

Be well,

same storm tore up some campgrounds s/e of Pittsburgh:
I looked at it on the map and think the Jellystone Campground in Mill Run PA was affected
makes one think twice about asking for lots of shade and parking under trees.

STORM DAMAGE | Lots of damage in Springfield Twp., Fayette Co. This is in Mill Run. So far, Fayette Co. Emergency management says a trailer rolled with a family inside, a tree fell on tent with mom & child in it, & a tree fell on camper w person inside

75F, cloudy, and very moist @ 13:45, calling for a high of 76F for the day.

LWS reports that we got a total of 5.4" of rain between the downpours Wednesday and the early hours of Thursday morning.

Left the ground totally saturated of course, even the high ground which normally drains and dries out fairly quick.

So yesterday afternoon I went over to the barn and hooked up the core aerator on the Cub and got the front yard and all down around the house aerated.

That was somewhat miserable, as the temperature hit 89.4F for the high with very high dew point and humidity. Could pretty much drink the air.

Woman made Tuna Helper for dinner, a favorite of mine.

Then late last night the promised storms out of Michigan arrived. Was supposed to be pretty bad but I don't think we got it as some other places in Northeast Ohio.

Several Tornado Warnings, Dangerous Thunderstorm Alerts, and High Wind Warnings. Reports of 95 mph straight-line winds. Wind here didn't seem too bad, not seeing much in the way of tree limbs and branches down so it looks like we dodged that bullet.

Picked up another 0.32" of rain in that event last night ...

It will take several days for things to dry up here before mowing can start again.

Think I'll use the brief respite today to go over and get the Cub and bring it over here to the house and jack it up and clean off the underside of the deck. Might even change out the old blades for the new ones, which should get us through the fall leaf season.

Other than that probably do some organizing of equipment manuals inside.

Plus whatever else comes up.

Hope everyone is having a Good Friday ... (y)

Yeah, but if I am carrying something, I'd like to use it.

There must be some math involved in this scenario with the weed whacker cause I find myself in the middle of no where with no supplies and less energy. After all these years you would have thought I'd have figured it out.

At least if I pass out, the wife can see me with the binoculars. She of course would think I was just being lazy. LOL.
The math balances, since, if you cut outbound, you walk past what you cut already on the way back, not using the trimmer…

But if I cut a quarter of the half on both sides of the fence, I can return to the point of origin to refuel and reload. Then I can approach the uncut area from a different direction and I should have the results I need.

The problem is - Heat, fries the brain and I get lazy in hopping the fence.

Or something like that...LOL.

You must have neighbors you actually like if you are trimming the outside of the fence 😂🤣😂🤣

I had to chuckle at this
I get hundreds of invites to educational conferences, this is typical

Start planning now for the 2023–2024 school year, and join us for the People of Color Conference and NAIS Annual Conference!
St. Louis is home to the blues, cultural attractions, a rich civil rights history, and an exciting culinary scene. And it’s the perfect destination to learn, engage, and reflect

After what Paul/PJS told us, these folks are more likely to get mugged downtown, they want exciting dining?
they sure might get it

Sun has been out for a bit, warmed up to a humid 82.
Fed the birds, chased the neighbors cat away from my birdfeeders.
We don't have a leash law for cats in this township.
if the owner lets the cat run free, it knows exactly where the birds are,
and I watched it crouch down and stalk toward them from thirty feet away.
Might as well have been a lion going after an antelope.

no, I am not feeding these birds deluxe bird seed with nuts and berries
so that they taste better for my local cat.
need to chat with owner.
