Here's a couple pics of the gravel area. Still have to move the tires and a few lumber scraps, then I can mulch.

Good morning , going up to 74 and cloudy, rain later.
Got 1 sheet rock panel up since work ran late and early yesterday.
Going through hell at work right now.

Sad about Bill, don't think I ever met him though Drew.

Got the M18 hammer drill yesterday, it's going back today as the clutch isn't working.
This is a certified, refurbished, that was done by someone who obviously has no idea how a hammer/drill/driver works.

Be well,
Saw the hammer drill on sale yesterday at HD

Good morning! 79˚F before sunrise heading to 105˚ with heat index of 112˚, we are under a heat warning. No rain. Maybe a Costco run today, store runs and cooking the two pastimes in the extreme heat.

There was a fire in South Austin that started from a lithium battery that was charging.

"Division Chief Eddie Martinez with the Austin Fire Department (AFD) said a battery for a piece of lawn equipment caught fire while sitting on the deck outside charging. "It overheats, it starts heating, and it just heats up so much that it's running away, and its thermal heat causes it to catch on fire," he said."

"As for lithium-ion batteries, Chief Martinez says it is important to be extra cautious. He warns those who have them to not leave them constantly plugged in once fully charged. He adds do not keep them outside in a hot environment, but in a climate-controlled environment like inside. Also, inspect the batteries regularly."

"Make sure they don't have any damage, any bulging, any holes, any cracks in them, because that makes them susceptible to fire," he said."

Great reminder! Thanks Don!

There was a house fire in our neighborhood a few years ago started by a cell phone charging bank that was overloaded. Burned the house completely. Owner was awakened when part of the ceiling fell in on him in bed. Excaped with his life by sheer divine providence. All devices left plugged in, especially the cheap ones should be checked often for problems.

I stopped buying the cheap chargers but who really knows how good any of them are?

The cherry on the top was the jury summons I found in the mail pile...

And then there's the lady on FB Marketplace asking if the price is as stated in the swing set ad. The wording is "$1350 firm". Seems pretty clear to me...

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!
Good Afternoon RNG, thats unbelievable ! Cant make it more clear than that !
On the summons, Im with you on that, last time I called the night before I needed to show up, and lucky for me, they didnt need me ! :)
For sure. Those bags seem to be made out of plastic. Some have a layer of fiberglass, but none guaranteed more than 2200F coverage. I did notice one would refund or replace the bag if it failed. Great, what if it didn't save my barn or house?
Tinhack, Im with you on those bags, not sure I trust my house or barn on one !
Kubota sat idle for 6 days good thing I was paying attention.
Thomas, wow that could have presented some serious problems if you didnt see it !
Thomas, would be funny if nest came in orange...
Drew, thats an interesting take ! Good sense of humor my friend !:)

ERCOT is asking everyone to conserve energy from 3pm to 10pm because of the extreme heat (103˚) and forecasted low wind-power generation. Seems like they would have learned their lesson and not depend on Mother Nature to help out when they need her most.
Hope the Tesla owners plug in after 10pm.

I am sick and tired of what we have wasted on Wind and Solar in Texas.
Man ol man I could really express my feeling about our state and city how they spend dollars, but if I did good chance I'll be going to wood shed. ;)

Wasted most of the day on YouTube and TBN. And FB. Over 200 new people want to join my site since yesterday. I caught one person trying to submit spam message.
Did get water turned off on dripping kitchen faucet and pulled the valve out to see what kind it was. Took valve apart, put it back together, dripping worse. Ordered new valve on Amazon along with toilet flush handle to replace a broken one. Also ordered Mazda oil filter for next time.

Wife had a little meltdown over the leaking faucet, so I said let’s go to Lowe’s and eat out. Found replacement faucet valve (since now I knew what one to look for) and also got a toilet flush handle. Valve $40 at Lowe’s, $39 on Amazon.
Cancelled amazon order.
At dinner her salad came out with peanuts on it, had to send it back. I was done before her new one came out. Then they billed us for 2 salads. But eventually waitress saw that and brought corrected bill.
Got home and we had .45” rain while we were in town. None there.
Swapped kitchen faucet valve in a couple minutes since I was prepared. Then swapped toilet handle. It’s reverse threaded and I started by turning nut wrong way.
So ended the day slightly productive.

Good (Friday) morning. Overnight Low was another balmy 14C and it's presently 19C, partly cloudy with a steady breeze. 20% of some moisture coming from the sky but I'm not holding my breath for anything significant.

Yesterday was spent getting nothing done... and I'm fine with that. ;)

Today I'll head back over to Pyengana, then top up the ute with petrol for tomorrow's trip to Ross.

That's about it, take care all.

Good Evening Don,
At least you can see the humor in all of this insanity !!

TBS,
Just take a look at the NE, RI is planning a big wind farm off the coast, and now the GREEN people are at odds with each other ! One side sees the wind as our saviour, and the other side sees the death knoll to the whales and off shore fishing ! Should be interesting as to whom wins this one !!

All have a good evening !
