There are some serious fires in Hawaii on Maui and big island. As far I can tell it is isolated to the north side of the big island but on Maui it is very bad with people jumping in the ocean. Hope that David is safe

Yes I also saw this on the news, the news media is making it sound really very bad ! Hopefully they are over hyping it as they sometimes do !

Took the Model A out to our local Wednesday nite car cruise ! My almost 94 yo car with some of those new models !

84F and sunny @ 14:15, calling for a high of 82F today so we've easily beaten that. HI 85F, DP 59F, HU 48%, AQI 61.

More rain due in tonight into tomorrow ... just as the standing water/puddles out back have disappeared ...

Was a very good day here yesterday.

Ran down to the hardware store yesterday before The Woman left for Cleveland Hopkins yesterday and picked up a new tail piece of the sink. PVC this time, hopefully won't rot out. Got it trimmed to length and assembled but still need to tighten it up and eliminate any leaks.

Got the 4 Kentucky Field Pumpkins stuck in the ground.

Got another half dozen runners pinned down in pots.

Fired up the weed burner torch and made more holes for additional strawberry plants.

Harvested around a half dozen tomatoes that were ripe.

Have some Hungarian Wax Peppers which were almost ripe, probably should pick those today:

There will be no shortage of rhubarb, even new plants seem to be doing very well ...

Made myself a couple of BLT's for dinner as The Woman wasn't back yet. Delicious.

Need to get back on mowing today, back and west side of house. Front probably ready as well.

Will be moving into doing further landscaping and transplanting in the coming days ... now that garden planting is all done.

Good (Thursday) morning. Overnight Low of 7.6C and it's presently 14.3C, overcast and calm.

Yesterday's town trip(s) were successful with a nice turn-out for the memorial service. The afternoon paddock transfer went without a hitch.

So, this arvo will mean some 'tractor fun' chain-harrowing Paddock #3 + a Z-turn mulching. I have an evening supper/meeting starting around 1730.

That's about it, take care all.

Got lawn in the back and on the west side of house all mowed this afternoon.

Deer starting to hit the hosta in the beds pretty good. Seems like it always starts to happen about this time of year.

So I put up double wire fence around west and northwest planting beds using 40 lb test monofilament.

Grilled some burgers on the Weber with some of that shagbark hickory. Those plus a big salad with lots of tomatoes from the garden were very tasty …

Kick back on the couch, maybe catch something on Prime later … along with a big piece of that sheet cake and big glass of milk …

Taking pebbles to vet today, she was in carrier in back seat. We got ice cream at Chick-fil-A, so I put a dab on cup lid and slid it in her carrier.
She ignored it. Think she was mad at us.

I was just back there closing up the fence … and there 5 of them back there - 3 does and 2 fawns - grazing on the lawn. Probably looking for grubs.

I was on the Cub … probably got within 30’ of the closest one.

From what I can tell the monofilament fence is keeping them out of the garden (knock on wood)

Just hoping that continues …

67°F and cloudy this morning, and only got up to 78° here today. Rains rolled in mid-morning, about four hours earlier than predicted. Just rain, though for us. All of the severe stuff stayed well south. Still raining off and on at 21:40 as I type this.

Hope David and his crew are OK. I have a couple of friends on the big island and Maui. Not heard from them either yet.

I have one of those DeWalt right angle adapters that I use to get holes and fasteners into unwieldy places. Been a very handy tool over the years. I do admire that hand crank version, though.

Good evening all. 82ºF for the start, overcast, breezy. wind new 20 mph at times, and guts over 30 mph, Sky cleared off, then clouded back up late, rain in 2 waves .2 inch in first wave. High temp was 106ºF, low temp when rain came through, 69ºF. Men's meeting o start day, then bike ride, wind was rough. Did get nap in after lunch.
Ron good to hear coop coming along as well as cleanup of tree trimming. Nice sunrise.
Ron that is a big cherry tree.
Buppies you are up early. Hope you get rain, prayers sent.
Drew hope PT and school board both went well.

Many fluorescent tube light bulbs like T5's etc, about to be discontinued in 2 weeks. If you have fixtures you might want to buy a couple of spares.

Now I'm trying to figure out the best available barn lighting, and if someone has had their lights for over 3 years to attest for longevity?

It was a rough start here this morning ! On the way to my dentist I was waiting in a line of cars at a stop light and young girl and boy friend drove into the back of my truck ! Was a few minutes late for the dentist appointment but not too bad. Then the dentist while attempting to get the temporary crown off, his hand slipped and smashed my lower lip ! Blood all over ! This was all before 9 am !

So 60's to start and going to 76 with on and off rain !

Glad you didn't get banged up worse. Hope your dentist gave you a card for a free ice cream cone.

Don, the trailers will sell lightning fast. Keep them until last so you can use them to disperse all the other items. They bring money! Smart buyers will look at the condition of the wood, and the tires.

Poured Frist cup of coffee. 59° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 78° with scattered thunder showers. Got last of the chicken coop trim up yesterday. DTE (power company) came to finish trimming Maple away from power line. Took awhile to convince them that saw dust from chainsaw was not going to hurt fish in pond. It floats and filter system will collect it. I was beat when I completed the days work outside. Drank plenty of water. Grocery shopping today. Then mostly conserve energy rest of the day.

David was last on TBN yesterday at 4:24 am.

71 outside this AM, may touch 80 today. Rain expected this afternoon.

Got another tick off last night. Wonder if the uptick (no pun there) is due to the grass not being lower or the dog coming into the house more. Usually I get one or two a year. This is averaging one a day.

Roofer coming by at 9AM. Bringing donuts too. He feels bad for putting us off the last few times. All we need is a decent estimate. I need to get the man lift operating again. Dead batteries. Darn things are expensive.

ZTR is still on schedule for pickup tomorrow. I should have rented a trailer and hauled it back myself. That's one thing I don't have is a trailer for hauling the equipment. Cannot see spending money on something that will be not be used frequently. And it will sit in the weather with no garage yet. Maybe one day on the garage. That might be the next project. LOL.

Hope all are having a good day. Be safe. The morning news from Hawaii is shockingly bad. Seems the whole planet is on fire.

My estranged second wife lives in Lahaina. Not good at all....
SIL in Oahu says the destruction is awful on nearby island.
Hope David is ok. He's way up top...

finished building the e bike, installed the larger front light after having to splice and solder the wires; too thin to
use connectors. Ran the security cable through both wheels and wrapped it so bike can't be lifted out of carrier.
There's a built in lock on the carrier also.

if it keeps raining, we will never stop mowing...
