Two_bit I know 90% of what I save will not get used, but no one can tell me how to make keep/save decisions
And nobody should try to tell someone else what to keep. Speaking for myself, it's aggravating when I keep something a long time, finally throw it away, then need it two days later.

When you live alone, these things tend to get put off until you realise "where did this mess come from?"
Sometimes I find it's better to just not turn on any more lights than absolutely necessary.

New place for Happy Hour a pleasant surprise. Not new physically as we had frequented pre pandemic but under different management. Initially thought it might be unappealing fiscally as the companion restaurant attempts to be somewhat high end. HAppy Hour prices actually quite reasonable and the offerings appealing. We’ll be returning next week.

Poured first cup of coffee. 51° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 78° with mostly sunny skies. Did a little house cleaning yesterday and stayed out of the smoke filled air outside. Air equality alert should be lifted today. Neighbor needs a couple of digital deadbolts installed today. Then go to Sam's Club and pickup new glasses.
Yesterdays sunrise was one of the reddest I have seen. Thought the black spots were a dirty camera lens. Nope they are Sunspots on the sun.

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

61.9F going to upper 80s.

Administrative running around went well, 00% gas for chainsaws. The price on the pre-mix has gotten completely ridiculous, now I will be mixing 50:1 and 32:1 myself from now on. The trip to woodlot with dogs was much quieter than the day before, although Harry was still interested in the scent there was no maniacal urgency. I fired up the sawmill for the first time in about 3 months and it started on the second pull.

today will be a morning of milling logs before it gets too hot, so I can build the porch on the new building. 10Wx8D so it will be fairly easy. I intend to mix up a borax solution and spray all the lumber before assembly and stain/paint, to prevent carpenter bees and post beetles from having a field day.

i hope everyone has a happy healthy safe blessed day!

good morning all
a warm sunny smoky day here, going to work in garage

I can vouch for Ken's falling trees in the woods, while I was there, there was a loud CRACK
and a crunch. Thankful it wasn't on top of us, we could not tell where it landed. More firewood.
Ken found it later. Not sure we heard this one or a neighbor's tree coming down at same time.
Thankfully Ken was able to fix his mower, no help from me.
But we sweat together in solidarity... ;)

I hope today is less humid than yesterday. This hot and sticky stuff is what I hoped I'd left in NC...
we have had so much rain that it will probably take a few days to settle down. Half my veggie garden is covered in mold.
I've been soaking everything in neem oil.
today I think I have to do a little snipping out there, clear out some leaves to let more air in.
Strawberries turned into a jungle of totally non producing plants, just lots of leaves. Not doing that again...
almost considering yanking them all out and putting something else in there, maybe flowers.

Ken's home in the woods is really pretty. look how green everything is here

69 and some ground fog, going to 91.

Prayers said for your family, Buppies.

Ken, hope your backyard isn't too bad off.

Scott beautiful cabinets. Bet they smell great.

Ron, sunspots! Wow.

Took a nice hike before the smoke got too bad yesterday. Surprised how many folks out on such a hot day. Grilled some brats for lunch and took a much needed nap, then fixed the fan. It did great last night.
