66°F and .1 inch rain with Hurricane Calvin enroute.

Guys lost at H&F. Not too painful, just frustrating, the gals always having better cards. The surimi crab curry was excellent.

Something of a social experiment. Sophie said not to mention the new TV but wait and see if they may comment. John did mention that without Dish music no longer available he missed not reading about whatever is playing Just had Apple Music on the HomePods. So while he did look, apparently it didn’t register. Now we will likely wait to see how long before mentioned.

Today I get to learn something new, now to replace belt on the BX mid mount mower.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Popgadget, do you advertise in trade journals or do your orders come from word of mouth only?

Word of mouth. I have a pretty good following in music cities like Nashville and Austin. More interest than I can get parts for, there is always work in the queue. I won’t take an order unless I have what I need to fulfill it.

87° with a few clouds. Vehicle said 100° earlier.
Good breakfast at the pizza place. They only do breakfast on the weekends and it’s always busy
Stopped by church building and did some work. Computer update took awhile.
Son mowed front yard. Maybe I’ll do the field.

Jack has made it possible to buy a large track of land near Lompoc for conservation. Nice to see someone using their money for public good.
Nice that at some point they'll offer public access to that land. Beaches in that area are privately held and zealously guarded, even to the point of not allowing beach access for surfers or boaters. Wonder how they'll obtain access by road in such an environment.

OASTAL ACCESS

The public can access the coast via Jalama Road, which passes through the middle of the Preserve, and visit the beach at the Jalama County Beach Park for surfing, fishing, beach walks, and camping.

During the acquisition of the property in 2017, The Nature Conservancy transferred 36 acres to the county park, doubling the size of the park and increasing coastal public access.

POINT CONCEPTION LIGHTHOUSE

The Point Conception Lighthouse is owned by the U.S. military, and only authorized personnel are permitted—despite what you might see on hiking trail apps. We ask the public to please respect all posted signs and not trespass.

Yes, I've visited Jalama beach many times, even stayed in a cabin there for a weekend. Just beautiful!

But all of the beaches east of there, all the way to Gaviota State Beach, are privately held. The Hollister Ranch Road that runs along the coast west from Gaviota is gated a mile west of Gaviota and there's a guarded kiosk to keep out the riff raff.
