Need lots of coffee today. Did not sleep well. 67° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 81° with midday thunderstorms. Got .1" of rain. Lots of thunderstorms around yesterday. All of the went north or south of my place. Working on putting new metal roof on chicken coup.

Sorry to hear you’re not sleeping well. I’ve had days and nights mixed up due to the heat. It’s too hot to do much outside so my naps during the day have increased. Makes it hard to go to bed at 10pm.

59 in Cedarville Michigan going up to 81 today
plans for today are to take the boat out, should be fun.
internet now working better, no idea why dysfunctional yesterday

feels good knowing I don't have to get up and drive for next five days.
tonight is fireworks night here, so we will plan to sit out with chairs near the water and watch.
On the 4th there will be a town parade I'm told is wonderful.
all good.

brother's very nice home here was built in 30's by wife's parents ,he has been coming up here for 50+ years. Wound up rebuilding the small house, which is all natural wood paneled inside. He also bought the small house across the street, which he uses as a guest house. Everything is modest and nicely taken care of

time to heat up the neck wrap and get ready for a day of bouncing on the water. I'll wear my soft collar and that should help. My neck is one of the reasons I gave the boat to my brother, I took it out on the Albermarle in NC and realized normal bouncing of boat not so good on me any more. Water around here is calm, should be fine.

brother told me one day this week we will take ferry to Mackinac Island to look around.

I found it interesting that in coming up the main highway headed North from Detroit, there were far more American cars on the road than normal. No surprise considering local manufacturing and sentiments.

Morning all!
Raining again with lots more in the forecast!

Not much going on around here with all the dampness.
Trying to keep busy in the woodshop and do outside maintenance as able.
Hummingbird loves to ride out the rain sitting on my tractor mobile.(sorry for cell phone pic)

Wife and I are holding steady as far as health goes.
We have one of my sisters visiting for a few days so that should be fun for a while.
Other than that same old same old!

We got back from a road trip to Maine Saturday. We left Tuesday at 7am planning to make it to Deer Isle in one day. Google says you can make it in 10.5 hours. We got in at 7:30 pm in the rain. As I backed down the driveway I felt the rear wheel sink into the mud. Shoot stuck. An hour later I got her out. Set up camp in the rain and dark. Still raining Wednesday afternoon. We headed to the hotel. Yep my wife was right there is something to be said for a hot shower and clean sheets. We brought the new dinghy and 4 kayaks up to get ready for vacation. We got a short kayak paddle in between the rain showers. I picked up a half a bag of trash off the beach, screwed down a stair tread that had come loose and weed whacked the driveway. I got in a wet walk in the woods. We decided to take two days to drive home. I decided to try route 2 over to Vermont. The stretch through New Hampshire and Vermont is really scenic. I bet it is really something with a little less smoke. Saturday there was quite a bit of traffic but the worst of it was coming towards us. We were glad to get home. The grass is thick and green and needs to be mowed.

Outside chores done E muffin time.
Plans for today...trim two steep banks and stream edges,afternoon depends on t storms pop up for more trimming here and there.

73 going to 93. Caught a trace of rain from the edge of a t-storm around midnight.

Even though hot, the air was clean and sunset beautiful yesterday.

One son and wife and dogs are still here visiting and we're having a blast.

struck out trying to find a dog chew toy shaped like a cherry for Sassy.
Since i'm bringing Ron a small cherry pie, I figured I should give some to Sassy also. So she's getting her own version of plastic pie on Thursday from Amazon. We will all have pie together on Friday.
