Good Morning!!!! 72F here in Lompoc's Mission Hills subdivision.
Partly cloudy. High 73F. Winds NW at 10 to 15 mph.

Uneventful trip down south yesterday, and put the odometer over 1000 miles so it was OK to use the cruise control. Spring on accelerator pedal is pretty weak so it takes some effort to keep from mashing it down. That gets pretty old after seven hours of freeway.

I stopped on the way in for groceries, good thing because the cupboard was bare. New York strip, corn on the cob, and baked yam were most appreciated. The least I could do for a place to sleep...

Got a start on reroofing the garden shed this morning. First step was to get the vines off of it, then demolish what was left to make way for the new roof. That only took a few hours, now to decide how to make the new roof. Probably have enough materials to get the job three times over, so the bigger problem might be how to get rid of the excess. Maybe make a porch cover, too?

Hope you're enjoying the long weekend if you've got it!

75F cloudy on/off showers since 5pm.

Got steep banks and streams banks plus trim, had little get up and go left trim under spruces 1/4 of front field...that was soggy mud grass flying no fun.

About time to head for the deck with feet up and smooth cigar.

Enjoy your evening all.

best wishes for your daughter Riptides, hope better days ahead

went out for a nice dinner locally in Cedarville MI. First time I've ever had walleye.
It was yummy, thick, sweet, white flesh with a little lemon gosh it was good.
internet remains terrible, might be able to slip in a pic.

washed the rv today, worked up a good sweat, but now shiny again amidst all the other very shiny rvs here. And shiny trucks. Everything is spiffed up for the big weekend.
Have been salivating over the trucks.
Dark blue High Country 3500 Duramax right across the lane.
Ram is the top truck here, but interestingly I saw a lot of gas trucks.
A few Ford Ecoboosts, one F350 diesel dually. Just a lot of nice hardware to look at.

there are three high end diesel pushers here, but this place is so small, the smallest campground by far I've ever been in, that the really big stuff won't fit. But seven or eight guys with big fifth wheels and two big diesel pushers backed down that dead end peninsula and shoehorned themselves within six feet of the next person.
I bet some of their awnings could not come out.
I couldn't with mine, would hit a tree. But it's out enough.
weather has been lovely, not a cloud in the sky all day, light winds but I will likely pull the awning in later for the night.

with my proven backing prowess, maybe I'll skip renting the ones way out there...:)

fireworks start at 9:30
had some strong iced tea and I think I'll make it

Good evening. Very pleasant outside right now.

not sure how much rain we got yesterday, but the pond was down about 4’ from the overflow yesterday morning. This morning, it is running out the overflow. Barn flooded, driveway had major washout. Fixed that today with the box blade. It was too wet, it had to be done. Hydraulic top link made it much more efficient.

Everyone stay safe out there

being ever so careful to stay as far away from this gold plated fifth wheel as I could, I gently nudged that three foot tall wood post.
once I got set up, could not wash part of my rv because I didn't want any splatter on the guy next to me. I was as careful as I could be but I still dinked the plastic end of my wash pole on my neighbors wall of waxed burgundy twice. Like working in an ultra tight alleyway. But I did not get it wet.

have plenty of experience washing my Bertram with a flybridge in a marina with boats on both sides of you. The wind is not your friend.
I had to move the rv a third time to make sure my slide didn't get anywhere near his. So far I have heard zero noise from anyone.
Headed out around 9pm to listen for the "little stuff" going off here and there, the folks who always jump the gun. Or maybe have firecrackers.
Very dry here, local fire company probably on high alert.

these fireworks are set off on a barge I think and is all over the water.
I might walk out to end of dock but half the rv folks are likely to be there so happy to settle for my large front grass lawn with my comfy chair. The ones that that go up in the air should easily be seen.
I just won't see the reflections on the water.

oooo
aahhh

ooooo
aaahhhhhh

sound of crowd at fireworks display...

pic just won't load

People been shooting stuff off here the last hour. Just getting dusk.
My blood pressure shot up because I got email about owing $3k for my colonoscopy last month. The Dr is in network, but their facility isn’t they claim. I just filed an appeal.

I thought campgrounds frowned on washing at campsites. My camper is very dirty from just sitting, hasn’t been cleaned yet this year.
I better go in and check for leaks.

Small pond in front of my barn.
