Lost like a Costco run is in the cards for this morning. I hope the membership police do not have the checkouts backed up. They even made it on the local news here. After that, might start on the lights unless something else pops up.
What are they doing to back up the checkout lines?
Oh, I just read where the self service line is asking to see the pictured ID Costco card because non-members are using them. The regular check out lane always required you to show them. That should not back up lines.??

Good Morning!!!! 66F @ 5:00AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 96F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.
An Excessive Heat Watch starts Friday, lasting through Monday, for highs in the 100s. It cools off down into the mid to upper 90s for the rest of the 10-day. Typical summer weather for around here.

Ever heard of YouTube?🤣 When you publish videos, you can control the audience if the material isn't kid friendly.

FWIW, on my ancient Garmin Zumo, it lets me set a preferred speed for freeways. I set it for 65 MPH, and always end up being late at the end of the day by an hour or so. Partly because of gas stops, partly because an average of 65 MPH is pretty hard to maintain. If you're using Google Maps, some versions have a speed limit feature that will display the speed limit, and color it red if you're going faster than that. It's not clear if the app will adjust arrival time based on the current speed, though.

What do you use? My buddy's dog in Lompoc freaks out on every rocket launch, and fireworks are hard on it, too...

Got an email from RAM tech support with a phone number to call for the phone charging pad problem. Called it, but the tech couldn't help, and promised to escalate the issue. Said to expect a reply in two or three days.

Put together an Amazon order for oil and filters for the van, and was surprised how difficult it is to figure out the right Mopar part numbers. Mopar has a shopping site, and you can filter results by make and model, but the tool ignores the filter. Drilling down my category is no better, and you still end up checking each result to see if it fits your vehicle. Makes me wonder if the folks that write this software even checked their work. I did find a ProMaster forum with some helpful people, but I still have my fingers crossed I ordered the right parts.

Got a neighbor to come down after dinner to give me a hand unloading the bike from the van. I set up a wooden plank next to the motorcycle ramp and felt pretty much in control of the bike, but it was impossible to see where the wheels were going, so it was definitely a two person job. A wider ramp would help, as would adding sides to the ramp to keep the wheels on it. Still need a winch to get the bike up the ramp, and I think that would help coming down, too. Or maybe just use a trailer, but that's no good if I have to drop the van off for service. Or the bumper hitch carrier, which will be a little lower on the ProMaster than the Ford, so that's a little bit of help.

Happy Hump Day!!!
Not only have I heard of YouTube, YouTube has heard of me… I have had YT tell me I engage in “wrong think” so I would rather find something else to post in…

We have some prescription Cbd pills from the vet, but generally it is just a matter of sitting on the sofa while she burrows behind my back and shakes, poor pupper…

Dennis- Thanks for sharing your rainbow; nice capture.

Bruce- I am an insulin-dependent diabetic (4 injections/day). For a diabetic any # <7.00 is considered healthy. Many diabetics would die to have my A1C numbers and do. Actually my previous PCP thought my #’s were a little too low for my age, etc.

RonJH- Thanks for sharing your hummingbird picture. I am envious. This has been a bad year for hummingbirds around here. Their #’s seem much lower than what was once the norm. I am wondering about whether or not those Canadian wildfire smoke plumes affected the migration patterns this year? I did however find a possible perch site that is accessible.

Drew- I wish you safe travels.

Buppies- I am sorry to read that your disrupted, non-restful sleep continues. It’s hard to really function well with impaired sleep patterns. Hang in there; my + thoughts and prayers for good night’s sleep.

Kilroy- I am glad to read that you enjoyed the concert, but sorry to read about Harry and “senior dog” and the anticipated fireworks. During wood burning season Boyo would steal kindling and firewood and chew it up leaving our living room looking like I had operated a chainsaw there. Thankfully that chewing behavior did not carryover to furniture. I/We still have a couple of “security” pieces of kindling and firewood in the living room.

Don- I would function very poorly in your daily high temperatures; enjoy your swim.

Lou- Good luck with the contractor. I have had “Big” Bear and what appears to be a yearling male as regular visitors to the bird feeders. Usually the “Big Guy” comes first and some time later “Junior” shows up. I was wondering about “Momma Sow” and whether or not there was a yearling female and this morning for the first time that I have seen them they both showed up at the feeders together. They both discovered that they do not like cayenne treated suet/peanut meal cakes. They both were frothing at the muzzle when the dog scared them off.

PopG- This Costco policing appears to be a national event. I heard it on the news last night.

A humid, overcast/cloudy 63ºF for this morning's low temperature. These conditions continue with 68ºF the current temperature with a 67ºF dew point. I expect these conditions to continue through the day with and afternoon high temperature in the mid70ºF's some diurnal popup showers an a decent chance for some T-storm activity; the atmospheric dynamics are supportive.

My Wife sees her PCP this afternoon………. We’ll see. The last time Peg saw her PCP she ended up in the hospital with life threatening red blood cell anemia.

Since my Dad was hit hard (for a month) with Shingles, I've been interested in getting the vaccine. While I was still working, my health insurance was not covering it, and at $300, I put it off - three years ago. Now that I'm retired, on Medicare and with a Medicare Advantage plan, they sent me emails and my Dr suggested it. It's a two part process, second one is given after two months.

I got the first jab yesterday morning. Free - zero $, nadda. The side effects really didn't hit me until later in the day. Drove around shopping, and went to the granddaughter's last softball game. I've got a very sore arm at the injection area, generally a "beat-up" feeling. Not terrible, but definitely hit me pretty hard. Storms overnight, so the scaredy-pup dog had me up from 2am til 5:30 with his pacing and panting. Finally settled down and we both slept in until 9am. I'm still feeling beat-up, but it's a little better. Looks like I won't get much done today, either.

Better than getting the virus, I'm hoping...

On a different subject, the shop is progressing (well it was...) I now have lights in the 10 foot section. I used 15,000 lumen LED's and it's plenty bright. The bulb holders have pull cord switches, so I can turn some off, if needed. You can't really tell on the pic, but the far end of the shop has a 12'6" ceiling for the much anticipated car lift. That area will also get the same lights.

this is a first
in and set up and online by noon
Lehigh Gorge campground in the Poconos
easy drive up though hit some heavy rain at one point

spot is huge, in the middle of dark woods (fine with me) and next to one after another of what looks like giant personal party pavilions around me. It's like who can have more geegaws out there.
Keeping in mind...for a kid, this is paradise, and there's good wifi here so they can be online too if it rains out. Or looks grey and damp like it is here now.

flipped electric hot water heater on, and fifteen minutes later it was too hot to touch. Even ran the a/c a little to get moisture out of here, damp rv in a damp woods in a damp.......

did not bother to hook up septic hose, no need when just me.
I'll dump the tank after the next stop, and before I get to Ron's home day after tomorrow.

best part here is the internet. 16/9 best I've seen in a campground yet. If I can figure out how to get my smart tv to stream, I might watch a movie later. Can't do that on my Mifi, gobbles up all my minutes. Verizon is stingy on their best plan, dumbs down in a hurry.

need to go out and go for a walk, I'll look out for bears...

This is the good weather just before the terrible heat to come I'm sure. 50º AM and 85º by 1-2 pm then back down at 4pm and repeat. It will creep up to 100º by the weekend and that will be the daily for 90 days or so...glad we avoided the extreme heat for this long.
Going to finish discing the neighbors 5 acres sometime today. Going to look at another neighbors 10 acre piece. Wish they hadn't all waited so long to call. The stuff is super dry. There is a danger of fire and the dust is bad.

I like the first pic, with just the van/rv. The second one makes it look a little crowded, for me anyway... I did a bunch of camping, in my youth, but it lost its appeal when the campground got more crowded and noisy than the "big city" I was trying to escape. Enjoy.
