It seems Home Depot and Lowes don't sell TSP trisodium phosphate anymore. Website says "Out of Stock".
Have not heard this. Disappointing.

It's good to check up on the kids at work like that. I'm sure they appreciate it more than they let on.

Heavy dew this morning in East Texas. Fig tree leaves covered in water. Put off mowing early to let the grass dry out a little. We have had a lot of rain. No complaints but it does make it hard to keep up with mowing.

Looking for colder weather already. It will be awhile.

Hope everyone's day is good!

69F and sunny but hazy @ 11:00, heading up to around 75F for the day's high.

Got Kubota cooling system drained last night.

Also got a number of other things done:

Fan belt removed.

Upper and lower radiator hoses disconnected from radiator.

Hose clamps on bypass hose moved back and bypass hose loosened on thermostat housing.

Fan shroud unbolted (but not removed due to clearance issues)

Radiator unbolted (but not removed due to clearance issues)

It appears that the easiest way to replace the water pump is to just go ahead and remove the radiator ... since there is no easy way to get to the bolts that hold the fan and pulley onto the water pump.

The Workshop Manual is lacking in any detailed instructions for a specific procedure (Just "Remove fan and pulley")

Where things are currently at is that I need to loosen the clamp on the exhaust pipe at the muffler and then remove a bolt on a welded bracket on the exhaust pipe that holds it to the frame and then (hopefully) rotate the pipe out of the way to remove radiator and fan shroud.

Sprayed down the joint at the muffler last night with some 'Blaster and let it soak overnight.

Heading up shortly to see if I can get it loosened up and rotated out of the way.

From the looks of coolant (it was black), we'll be giving it a good flushing with some cooling system cleaner and then refill with distilled water and fresh antifreeze.

Hoses appear to be in decent shape, not going to do anything with them at this time.

Will need to run out and get some cooling system flush and possibly anti-freeze.

In other news, I discovered last night that the remainder of my order with Burgess has been cancelled due to being out of stock.

And apparently they are merging with Gurney's ($$$) ...

Hope everyone is having a great Saturday ... (y)

Good morning! Low of 48°, heading up to 79°. More wind forecast for today, gusts to 40 mph. Repeat for tomorrow.

We did get some mulching done yesterday. The wind was very strange..... really gusty, then super still... 10 minutes later, repeat of the same. Then it got cloudy and looked like a storm.... 10 drops later the wind was back. Then the sky was totally clear 15 minutes later... strange.

Today's agenda includes more mulching.....and turn on the drip irrigation. I have to admit, just taking our time, stopping frequently for breaks, and sitting back to see the progress, is really nice. I'm usually hitting projects at 90 mph.... I might like this new "pace"....

Kyle, nice that you had a good meal and "date" with the wifey. Did it feel strange having your daughter as a waitress? Nice size fish in the pond. Did you stock it?

Drew, have fun playing with the new PW. I hope my cheap HF one holds up better than yours did.... I don't use it too often.....

Buppies, sorry to hear about the pup going "on hold". Tough decision for sure. I hope it works out ok.

Dennis, your dad looks like he is enjoying the parade. It's fantastic that he still gets to participate. Is he going to any July 4th activities? ---you better ask now.....

David, sounds like you're bringing out the big guns to finish the painting...... Nice to hear the restaurant was able to reopen and the food was good.

Thomas, sorry to hear that date night was cut short. Did you get to finish?

Mostly, ---- "then nap and mow back yard, found 4 more balls. Wife and I made meat balls for dinner." -----
Darn, I'm gonna have to go out and see if I can find some out in the fields.... didn't know meatballs grew wild!
Do they taste different?
Sorry, couldn't resist again......

Time to get my bottom moving before the wind starts up.
Everyone have a great day!

LS, no we did not stock it. Bought the place in 2002 and the pond was possibly dug in 1980's

It is silted in, and I would like it cleaned out, but very costly to do it with machinery. But our pond holds water very well, and it is still almost full.

Here is our local rainfall for the last month. We are the lowest amount in the area. :( The drought monitor tab is on, and it shows NW of San Antonio to have the highest drought levels, despite them getting 2"-6" in the last month, so I'm skeptical about drought monitors from this day forward.

67°F and .43 inches of rain

Attempt to develop a new skill, painting with my Graco power roller. The videos make it look easy but reviews are all over the place. Guess we’ll find out shortly. Hoping it is a time saver. Only 16 walls to go.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Hello all, nice day but again no rain with 79 the high for today.

Worked some more on the fence cutting and splicing the slack top wire together to tighten it up. First sharpened the bolt cutter to take out some nicks and ground off on the stop to make it close tight. Old one made in Japan is likely better that the Chinese specials of today. Found a bunch of fence wire crimp sleeves and used those to crimp it together. The new fence tightener system looks nice but may as well use what I got.

Helped one of the kids with multiple issues to cope with it easier by using the Chinese chest system. Sort the issues into each imaginary drawer and pull out one at the time to deal with. Works every time.

Moved up the wood splitter to get ready to split more oversize wood pieces. One of the American Airlines carts is full of oversized pieces

Drew Magnum XR7 - powerful enough to do a great job and even greater mess if not careful. Had it since 2006, many gallons of paint. This whole house sprayed inside and out, the container outside, the cottage inside, the Studio in and out - all sprayed. One of my forays was all the structural lumber for the house before installation. I’ve painted a lot of ground and trees in the process
Ahhhhh, the wind.

had a fun time with old friend this morning, picked him up at his home in Doylestown and brought him back.
We built the PW and it worked fine. Same power as HF, just nicer packaging. I sudsed up half the rv and washed that, and while I didn't believe it
would work, using the soap nozzle on the PW apparently reduces backpressure enough that siphon from soap dispenser automatically turns off.
I was a true disbeliever, kept looking for a shut off but ok let's try it.
Used half the reservoir full, took off the soap nozzle, put on the 30 degree one with much smaller orifice, and sure enough, no suds came out.
I thought that was clever engineering.
So while it appears my foam gun will work on this unit, not sure it's needed.
But 1.2gpm is not a lot of water.
Did wash the rig off fine with clean water and then toweled the windows and the hood dry.

So that was a success. this is my friend with the Florida house that can't drive any more and he was home alone today.
so I plopped him down in a folding chair in the shade while I used the PW.
Now back home and only plans for afternoon are inside stuff

I'm going to have to either raise or lower my flag mount. Flag was back in the gutter again when I got home.
original mount painted over with about ten coats of paint, have been trying to avoid this.

Sat afternoon nap sounding like a great idea.
