69F and sunny but hazy @ 11:00, heading up to around 75F for the day's high.
Got Kubota cooling system drained last night.
Also got a number of other things done:
Fan belt removed.
Upper and lower radiator hoses disconnected from radiator.
Hose clamps on bypass hose moved back and bypass hose loosened on thermostat housing.
Fan shroud unbolted (but not removed due to clearance issues)
Radiator unbolted (but not removed due to clearance issues)
It appears that the easiest way to replace the water pump is to just go ahead and remove the radiator ... since there is no easy way to get to the bolts that hold the fan and pulley onto the water pump.
The Workshop Manual is lacking in any detailed instructions for a specific procedure (Just "Remove fan and pulley")
Where things are currently at is that I need to loosen the clamp on the exhaust pipe at the muffler and then remove a bolt on a welded bracket on the exhaust pipe that holds it to the frame and then (hopefully) rotate the pipe out of the way to remove radiator and fan shroud.
Sprayed down the joint at the muffler last night with some 'Blaster and let it soak overnight.
Heading up shortly to see if I can get it loosened up and rotated out of the way.
From the looks of coolant (it was black), we'll be giving it a good flushing with some cooling system cleaner and then refill with distilled water and fresh antifreeze.
Hoses appear to be in decent shape, not going to do anything with them at this time.
Will need to run out and get some cooling system flush and possibly anti-freeze.
In other news, I discovered last night that the remainder of my order with Burgess has been cancelled due to being out of stock.
And apparently they are merging with Gurney's ($$$) ...
Hope everyone is having a great Saturday ...
