Good Morning!
God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

53.9F, going to low 80s, sunny day forecasted.

put together two levels of scaffold, just to try out, fairly easy to handle. Stopped at local welding shop and dropped off a box of lag bolts and one of the safety bar eyes and said “make me a bunch of these ( lag bolt with a ring of 1/2”-I.D. Steel tube welded to the head). These get screwed into the wall and the hooks on the end of the stabilizer arms drop into them, but I want to leave them in the walls so they do not need to be reinstalled I. The future, and there won’t be holes in the walls that need to be dealt with. Those should be ready next week.

puttered around the house for a bit, then we took both dogs up to the woodlot, Harry stayed on-leash because he is not all that great about returning when called under the best of circumstances…

veggies got watered, the sprinklers had to be opened up and cleaned due to silt blocking the jets.

finished off the day with early sushi dinner and then Mrs & I saw Debbie Gibson concert at the PAC. Fun show, great performances.

today‘s itinerary is to head up to the woodlot and have Mrs plant some rows of beets, radishes, maybe some corn, maybe some other herbs. I will be working on clearing a path on the other side of the stream, in anticipation of running irrigation from the upper part of the property to where it is actually needed.

i hope everyone has a happy healthy safe blessed day!

55 and foggy going to 84. Finally got some rain...almost 2/10s of an inch from the edge of a t-storm. We'll take it.

Now ground is at least moist enough to mow and a few other things.

Ron, so neat to see 2 frogs sitting together.

Bef, nice that your dad got to ride in the parade. You were almost NBA? 😁

Neighbor across the road is separating some cattle this morning...how loud those cows can sing. He was out just at dawn, so my guess is he's loading some to take to Madison to the auction this morning. Hope they are fat from the clover hay he cut from my field last month.

I was refilling hummingbird feeders this morning and 4 landed on one of them before I could finish hanging it. Felt pretty cool when one flew under my armpit to take a short cut to the feeder.

Good Morning
63 and going to 73 today with a nice breeze.
We got 3/8” of rain yesterday as front passed through. High rain rate was 1” per hour. Confirmed tornado not too far away.

Yesterday’s trip was uneventful, made it back before the worst of the weather came through. Back in time for lunch with the usual crew.
After lunch helped son with a little clearing project making a spot in the woods for a playhouse for my grandson. Put the loader on the tractor and moved the cleared brush to the pile and pushed the pile back. Got the wife loaded up for todays farmers market, loaded some more grain into the bins, collected the trash and recycling totes from the street, watched Zoe race around, and decided it was time for some dinner before the boys showed up to play music.

This morning I’ll start with pulling the recording from last night and checking it out. After that I don’t have a real plan. Might do a bit more on the clearing project, a friend wants some help setting up a VFD for his newly acquired lathe, so I’ll likely go there.

Rained last night but not a lot in the rain gauge. After more than a month without any rain we will take what we get. One nice thing about it being dry is that I can use the zero turn for everything. I wouldn't want to get near the wet spots with the zero turn in a normal year but it cuts great and it is fast.

Technology has been on my mind lately. A couple of weeks ago my wife got a new phone and Verizon talked her into trying 5G internet. Not that great for us. The connection drops pretty often then it takes a while to re-initialize. Hard to say if it is better than the DSL we had which seemed to get slower and slower. When the 5G works we can both do everything we want to do. Sooner of later the fiber company will finish setting up the fiber network but it will be twice as expensive as the Verizon 5G.

Yesterday I got an Asus PA248qv 24" monitor to replace the failing Dell 24. I'm not that demanding but it is sharp and bright and it was around $200. I need to mess around with the setup although they say it should be close out of the box. the color is definitely different from the dell. The screen is slightly larger than the dell but over all monitor smaller. I may get another one for the second system.

My wife told me there is some kind of malware that can affect iphones and that I should do the update. I hate updates. It seems like I always lose features I use. I guess I will have to give in and get a new desktop too so it will be compatible with my phone and Apple wants me to upgrade icloud (and pay) so I can do backups and store stuff. sigh.

Hope the weather is nice where you are.

Chris

BEF, great pic of your dad! You looked about a foot taller than your defender. At 5' 10", I could barely jump up and touch the net.

Great pic of the toads Ron, hope you are doing well.

Many great pics y'all.

Mostly, if you could find a vacuum oven, and put your monitor in it for a while maybe it could help?

We had "Feels Like" temps of 112F late yesterday. I put the Traverse A/C job on hold, and took my wifey on a date to get cheeseburgers at the restaurant my daughter works for. We gave her a good tip. I told her good job and to keep smiling for her customers. The wait staff has "helpers" to help them take food out to tables and refill drinks.

Son has gotten bit by the fishing bug again. He's been going out to the pond for about a week with regularity. On Wednesday night, he was stumped and told me he guessed there weren't many fish left in the pond. On Thursday, he landed 3 whoppers, and his string broke for 3 more. I told him to lighten the drag and play them some more to tire them out. But some whoppers will just whip their head and snap the 12lb line. Our pond's record for bass is 8lbs. Maybe I'll get him some spider wire.

It seems Home Depot and Lowes don't sell TSP trisodium phosphate anymore. Website says "Out of Stock". And there's one company that labels TSP in big bold letters but underneath is says "substitute". I saw TSP available on Amazon but not cheap. Another misguided rule IMO, similar to having DEF on over 25hp tractors....

I hope you all have a blessed day. Prayers for our team.
