good morning, 79 going to 92 today no rain. grass is browning up

Will wait for cooler weather or early mornings to continue fencing project. Slept in this morning so will see about tomorrow. Unrolling the used fence roll that is about 5 ft diameter will be the next challenge. One arm will not suffice so need a plan.

Going up to the produce grower to stock up on vegetables this morning.

yes there are many opinions on changing transmission oil and flushing. On sons Acura the service manual only calls for draining the pan and refilling and never dropping the pan. On the sprinter it says to drop pan change filter and drain converter every 60 K. Mine has over 190K now and I am inclined to go with the Acura model for now. Last dropped pan was at 160K. Mostly the drained oil looks like new essentially. Using 4 quarts every 10 K is pretty cheap insurance
The last time I consciously thought about changing my automatic trans fluid was with my second car, a 1970 AMC Ambassador Wagon. Every car after that was in a computer, either at AAMCO, a service station, or a dealer.

I should probably do the gearbox on my tractor...

The Uluru rock in Aus is the largest rock in the world with nearest town being Alice Spring central Australia.
A new laser show and 1100 drones has created a unique experience to learn about the original inhabitants and their culture.
spectacular desert show above Uluru

Although you might think that Uluru and the vast outback skies need no adornment, a new experience in Australia's Central Desert might make you reconsider. A world-first Indigenous tourism experience called Wintjiri Wuru has opened at Uluru that tells a chapter of the Mala ancestral story using lasers, light projection technology and 1,100 drones in a blend of ancient and new. Most importantly, it was carefully created in collaboration with Anangu elders to make sure their story was told in the right way. It took five years, and the result is spectacular.

We're going to have an early supper of meatloaf done in the smoker along with some corn on the cob and baked mac and cheese with bacon.
Unfortunately, no desert....... Might just have to have a bowl of IC.
Better hide those leftovers. ;)

Dennis, always enjoy seeing pics of your Dad and his place. If OK to ask, what’s the future for his place? You seem to really like it there.

I really don’t know. Most of the family will probably want to sell, I’d like to keep it in the family.
I was thinking about that this week.
A lot of work keeping it up.
I would love to live there, but wife doesn’t want to. I had almost convinced her a few years ago.

Back home from my short vacation to the farm.
Kitty purring on my lap. Should have seen both cats try to get my strawberries earlier.
Dad was out mowing today. I have some good drone video of him mowing I’ll post someday. My brother sent me drone video of me mowing.

warmer here at home 93° than 87° at the farm.

My video recorder at dads stopped working. Think I’ll just upgrade to some IP cameras with SD card.
I also forgot to turn on a game cam there the previous trip

Didn’t take a pic, but there are multiflora roses at the farm growing at least 30 ft up into trees. They are all in bloom, so are pretty.

Another cement hauler overturned, yet again, couple turns away from the house.

Happened around 3 am, road shut down till 4 pm, opened just as I was coming thru.

Good (Saturday) early evening. The overnight Low was 5C and it's presently 12.2C (coming down from 16C). It's clear and calm.

A beautiful day spent in a cow pasture (with associated 'landmines') manning the gate to keep the cattle/sheep separated and let the endurance riders through. As it turned out, the sheep had buggered off to parts unknown and the cattle weren't interested in going into the other pasture, so I just left the gate open and stood watch. I did have a companion so a good day's 'local' conversation ensued.

The last rider (80km course) came through at 1400 (YAY!). All gates shut and home by 1430... re-started the wood-heater and I'll soon get tucked into a couple of glasses of red wine.

That's about it, take care all.

Waiting for cup of coffee to cool. 61° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 86° with mix of sun and clouds. Conserve Energy Day did not happen yesterday. Removed blades on chipper and sharpened. Also changed shear bolt on PTO shaft. Need to move JD mower. But it would not start. 18 year old battery finally gave up. Drove down to JD dealer and picked up a new one. By the time I got done it was in upper 80's. But humidity was way down. So did some trimming around out buildings. Today I have a nurse coming out to see if I am doing alright. Part of my insurance plan. Sometime during the day I plan to wash house windows.
Squirrels are having a feast eating Maple Tree Helicopters (seed pods).

Morning all!
55 out and that is the high for the day. Nice!
First visit to PT was Thursday. They can help with the muscle ache but nothing they can do for the arthritis. They want me to go to a pain specialist.
Pretty sore now after the evaluation test!

Next up was a stop at the pulmonary doc to pick up my sleep study test kit. Did that last night. Will turn it back in today. I hope they step it up a bit as I really need my CPAP supplies! Dam Medicare!

Rained hard yesterday and more on schedule for today. I hope so as we really need it here. Was a very dry spring and things are really stunted around here.

Not much planned for the weekend. Think I will lay low and enjoy retired life!
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly…)

52.3F, going into mid 80s, should be sunny all day, no precip yesterday. So time to go up to thenwooodlot and move out the last couple trees and clear some underbrush, and, depending on how late that goes, maybe try hooking up the two-disc to the tractor and turning some furrows? Or else some more pathnclearing, depending on how well (or not) the ground has dried. I don’t want to try plowing the first time if it is too soft, especially since the ground is not flat level.

after shed delivery yesterday, I boiled up some eggs.

TEN DOZEN EGGS. Currently on ice in a cooler, because starting tomorrow night we are supposed to get several days of wet weather, so that will be good for pickling and canning. I still have 90+ eggs on the table, so there will likely be some more boiling when the canning is done.

I have to dig out my tap&die aaet so I can figure out the size of the bolts I need to mount a grille guard on the front of the canopy - I called Kubota but no specification is listed? Strange…

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe blessed day!

Good Morning
64 with a high of 70 today under clear skies. A lot nicer than yesterdays 93.
Yesterday kept me moving throughout the day, started with cleaning out the residual hay on the hay shed floor to get ready for a hay delivery which showed up as I was finishing up. Hitched the dump trailer to the Kubota and took it down the road to get mulch. Here is the view out the back window as they loaded it.

Never did get to the airport to finish the little plane, that’s on todays agenda after mulching.

Zoe found a snapping turtle while we were on a walk, here she is at a respectful distance.

Sure is getting dry and crunchy out there, we sure need some rain.

Looks like the next section of fence to be replaced will only be about 100 feet, should be a walk in the park.

Not much need for mowing here. The lawn at the farm has turned brown. I may do some spot mowing next week. The front lawn at the the house has stopped growing the back lawn may need a trim next week. So with time on my hands I decided to haul some logs up to my neighbor. My wife said there was a 50 percent chance of a shower. I figured if I was out on the tractor it had to increase the chance of rain. No such luck. Not a drop at the farm. A few sprinkles at the house. I moved 2 trailers of logs. I was feeling pretty pounded by the end. Pretty sad. 3 hours in the heat and I was done.

Our niece just got a puppy. Saint bernard newfoundland mix. May get up to 170 lbs. She is single and works full time. What was she thinking?

Hope you are all enjoying sunny days.

Chris

this company makes a number of receiver hitch bumpers that might help on the rv

headed down to hardware store when they open at 8 to get some small stainless screws to install
supplementary LED turn signals on rv.

During the 50's and 60's here my father would drive down to the town's only hardware store, every Sat morning, corner of Main and Bridge Streets, and
buy something, anything, pack of cheap cigars, just to say hi and keep touch with old friends and neighbors there, owners lived down from our farm. Then off he would go to the drug store across the street, where he would go through the same routine with the store owner there. Every Saturday morning without fail. Hardware store always had a Burpee seed assortment. Always something to plant.
Our local Ace hardware store sold out to a New England chain.

Chris, you'd better get some XL sized dog bones when you go visit.

56F now and reach the high for today, light rain falling now showers on/off during the day.
Outside chores done E muffin time.
No setting on the deck last evening for mother nature gave everything much needed good long soaking.

Plans for today...haven't decided yet.

Enjoy your day all.

Good morning! 68˚F heading to only the upper 80s, partly cloudy, Southerly breeze. Best chance of rain is Sunday afternoon.

My tractor fan gets delivered here today but my first chance to use it will be during the predicted rains tomorrow.

Popgadget, that mulch looks well aged almost compost. At what point would you call it compost? We would call it compost as soon as it supported plant growth instead of a ground cover (mulch) preventing weeds.

I’m up early editing video.
Gotta head out soon for breakfast, video still uploading.
Tonight is the church’s pig roast. The chance of afternoon storm keeps decreasing. We need rain
