Good morning! Low of 50°, heading to a high of 78°. Sunny and a few high clouds.
That's going to change tomorrow, high winds return with gusts to 60 mph.
Thursday and Friday supposed to be nice, then very good chances for rain and T-storms for the weekend.

Fritz, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! (Belated)

Ken, congrats to your son for his achievement!

RNG, sorry to hear about the van..... wanna make a bet it's something simple / stupid.... like one sensor wire....

The trip to Colorado was successfully completed. Broken track bar fixed. Truck up and running.
The Jeep problem was the front driveshaft double cardan joint. It's so loose, it was 'flopping' around creating a really nasty sound. Took it off and brought it home to rebuild. I may actually have a new one in the shop from my old Jeep.... have to dig it out and compare.

The scenery was absolutely gorgeous..... lush green valleys, snow still up on the mountains, multi colored rock for accents...... just beautiful.

Got back at the planters yesterday, they are all set to go plant wise, need to hook them up to the drip line. Probably get that done today.
A couple of pics:

Drew, my goal of creating a desert oasis is getting close..... the birds sure like it so far......

Still need to get to the walkway in the courtyard, the rest of the smaller plantings to border the walkway, and the 'finish' ground covering. Still haven't decided if it will be deco stone or mulch.

Everyone have a great day!

Good morning! 66˚F heading to the 80s chance of rain like the last few days that were missing us. Looks like Spike and Kyle, south of me, got some rain though.

Chain saw would not start yesterday, it's becoming more and more unreliable, may have to get a new one or a battery (EGO)one. When I was putting fuel in it the gas was running out the other side and I couldn't see where it was coming out.
I just used a sawzall.

Today we will be doing FireWise closer to the homes to reduce the fire load by taking out the cedars damaged by the ice storm.

Kilroy, When my tractor did not fit in the barn I raised the header board and added a window on the top that opened and gave me more clearance. Have fun working the new toy, and don't flip it, it looks good all nice and shinny.
txdon, Only 0.01" here yesterday. Just missed me. Rains coming in from the S now (10am). Could be a soaker and high chances this week. Hope some makes it up your way.

65F and sunny @ 11:00, heading up to around 69F for the high. I bet we beat that.

Prepping for appointment later this afternoon with accountant for tax returns.

Then probably spend the rest of the afternoon working outside, making hay while the sun shines so to speak ... ;)

Hope everyone has a good Tuesday ... (y)

clearly both companies have discontinued live person customer service locally, do it all by phone or online I guess.

As much as I avoided it, I have to admit that dealing with Verizon via online chat worked out pretty well, and at the end of it, you can print out the transcript. Lord only knows what the native language of the person on the other end of the keyboard is, but it’s of no consequence.

we'll have to push the thing out of the way

RNG, you now can claim to own the most reliable car and least reliable car

good trip to dermatologist, scrape and burn, a freezie or three and out I went.

now to deal with Comcast and Verizon online
frustrating experience going to Verizon store in Doylestown.
Oh we don't deal with that, we just do cellular.
really?

want to get new Internet with Verizon, who also has my cell coverage, and discontinue with Comcast altogether.

I went the other direction. Kept Comcast/Xfinity and dumped AT&T. Xfinity Mobile has been very good for me. Not sure what they have for on the road internet other than Hot Spot.
You will not have any problems when you visit my place. Lots of OTA channels for TV. Good hook up to WiFi.

I want to stay at Ron’s campground.

Years ago I worked a project in MI where I drove right by Ron’s house all the time, only I didn’t know it. 6 miles from his house. It’s a really nice area, I enjoyed driving some of the back roads around some of the many little lakes.

67°F and .10 inches rain.

Unexpected drop in by friends yesterday afternoon cut into my productivity, but it was really nice just to catch up.

Decision time on the flail repair
IMG_1015.JPG

Now don’t ask how that happened. My answer would just be a guess. The original lift pin came out and lost a couple years ago and replaced, but the replacement wore in the holes until this happened almost suddenly. I say suddenly because flail was mounted and unmounted numerous times and no red flags. In fact, it was only mounted for 2 rounds of mowing this time. Guessing some sort of metal fatigue. One choice is to fix that area and use a bolt in lift pin. My welding skills not there yet. The more likely choice would be the upper set of holes, but that would require shortening the PTO shaft about 4 inches. Leaning that direction but don’t want any unexpected downside.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

63° little chilly eating lunch on the porch.
Few sprinkles this morning, rain gauge says 0.

Wasted morning watching YouTube, and contemplating how to solve the world’s problems.
And sorting thru people wanting to make comments on my Facebook picture site. I weed out the scammers first, trying to make their garbage posts.
Don’t think I have enough wood scraps for BH dolly. Wheels came yesterday, but I ordered lag bolts last night. Wheels came with 1” long 5/16” bolts, too short for wood.
Think I hear a few raindrops hitting again. Then sun tries to come out.
