59F with a light shower @ 21:00, headed down to 53F for the overnight low.

Hopper feeder and two tube feeders refilled, also two suet feeders.

Checked and topped off hydraulic fluid in the Kubota, was about a quart low. Also checked engine oil.

Noticed when I parked it this evening that there was a fitting on the diverter valve that was twisted loose and dripping, will need to tighten that before I run it again tomorrow.

Grapple moved into the shop for welding.

Put Light Material Bucket on and worked on compost piles, scraping off and burying the weeds plus some debris I dumped up there recently:

IMG_2554 copy.jpg

Also consolidated two rock piles into one and cleaned up the area with the box blade in preparation for more compost and soil screening.

Ended up getting chased in by sprinkles.

Had a chip chop sandwich The Woman fixed me then grabbed a fuel can and headed off to get diesel for the van and the Kubota.

That turned out well: price of diesel dropped 50 cents per gallon here in the past 24 hours.

Woman was successful on Her outing: in addition to Goodwill they stopped by TSC and She got some flowers and a couple of tomato plants.

Swung by Autozone after getting fuel since I was down that way and checked to make sure that I had purchased the rear pads on the Sprinter there. Yup, back in 2013 ... but they didn't have the Gold pads I had originally purchased in stock.

Guy said he could have them there by tomorrow morning. Told him that would be fine.

That saves about $55 ... (y)

Stopped by the local creamery on the way back and picked The Woman up a pint of butter pecan and got myself a large peanut butter hot fudge malt ...

Hope everyone had a great Monday ... (y)

Kilroy- One of my favorite Parables. Thanks for sharing. For Me it was (as a Psych attendant) some crazy old head case confined to a (now non-padded) seclusion room with only a bed pan, sheet, and mattress; and Me assigned to keep him in there for his "sins" He did not use the bed pan, :poop: was everywhere especially his mattress, and he with his battery ram :poop: mattress tried to make a break for it. He was not successful. I can relate to the bird. I took a shower in the patient shower room (cleaner than the staff's) which freaked out my staff peers and to make it even better I changed my clothes into hospital garb to finish my shift and no one took my "keys."

I understand - I did 25 years in law enforcement in NJ.

Morning all! 40 going to a sunny 62 today.
Was quite busy yesterday. Got the blower off the tractor at the apartment house and put the mower on. Went to my sisters and used her little Kioti to spread half a truck load of loam in her yard. Then headed out to the garage to dig out the tiller and get it ready for next week. Some how over the winter the filler neck on the gas tank cracked and popped off! Hopefully found a replacement online that will be delivered today or tomorrow.
Neck is sore again this morning. Guess I did a bit much. Will take it easier today. Going shopping with another sister for a new mower for her yard.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

Buckeye, I have mostly Bosch power tools. Good reliable tools. I sold all my Stihl tools after my shoulder surgery in 2018. Started buying Ryobi. I have several of the Expand-It tools. No failures yet. Tiller, Trimmer, Blower, edge trimmer, pole saw, Brush Cutter and Hedge Trimmer. I also have a Ryobi 16" chainsaw that uses same 40 volt battery. Model # ZRRY40530.

Coffee is brewing. 47° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 70° with sunny skies. Got tire on JD yesterday. Did get some grass trimming around buildings. Did not get any weed killer down because of wind. Neighbor sold some paver bricks that were on 7 pallets. I loaded 4 of them on buyers trailer with tractor. 3 more pallets to load later this week. More trimming today.
First Oriole this year.

good morning all
early doc appt at dermatologist, then dentist appt for new crown later today.
Expensive and unpleasant for sure.

51 going up to high 60's in clouds today

ron, glad you had a tractor to load all those bricks.

Kilroy, I'm guessing in retirement you said "how far away from here can we get?"....having spent many years working/driving all through NJ.
Although NW NJ was always a favorite area, up in the mountains and away from the traffic and urban bad air.
My late wife was a charge nurse at main hospital in Trenton. Did mostly ER and ICU. 20 years of doing that wore her out..."nothing like a good shooting or stabbing
to make the night go by".

I'm always amazed Jay survived his profession. Being surrounded by crazy people has a toll on you.

Local dealers here starting to get inventory back on lots. I see a few Grand L's at Kubota dealer, but mostly smaller tractors.
Nice MX5400 with cab showcased. We just don't have enough real agriculture in this area to support larger equipment.

have a great day guys.

Dad on the tractor again yesterday, said he pulled a tree out.
Bought a rather cheap game cam on Amazon for my VA lot. It arrived as 2 in a box, so I got 2, I was expecting 1. Not sure if Amazon made a mistake or if that is how they were sold as a box of 2. But I thought it came with SD card and batteries but didn’t, must have been a different one I looked at.

Had a slo-mo day yesterday, but did a dump run and hike to the river.

Exactly.

a good friend’s wife was head ER nurse at UMDNJ for a number of years - she and your wife could trade stories and horrify everyone around them. I learnedvery early that, when responding to an ER on an LE matter when all hell is breaking loose, showing up with a big box of DD Munchkins and a Box O’ Joe goes a LOOOOONG way toward cooperation with the ER staff.

bribery works 😁

I knew we were acclimating to our new residency when, about three years ago, a lone ambulance siren on the state road over the ridge 1/4 mile away woke us up in the middle of the night. . .

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

57.6F, going to low 80s.

YAY! NEW TOY!

That I don’t know how to run…. But at least I didn’t break anything or hurt anyone.

and I even managed to get two small stumps out!

Raking is HARD.

I think i will paint the track levers red and green, as well as the visible portions of the frame near the idlers and drive motors, until I get the hang of operating in a 360° machine.

I also think I will try the controls in backhoe mode today, since I don’t have and muscle memory yet for ISO, just to see what is easier for me.

I may even get Mrs. to at least try driving it back and forth a bit later today, after pulling more stumps…

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe productive blessed day!

Yes raking and scraping require coordination between changing elevation with one hand and moving the bucket in with other hand.
Be sure to use the blade to protect from tipping when pulling, lifting hard especially with the boom extended
