48 going to 64. Never got the rain that kept threatening yesterday.

Yep, Kilroy, you need a nap.

Stayed busy yesterday doing some reorganizing in the tool shed and barn, and installing some new tool hangers, but still got a maintenance hike in at 5pm. Helped my wife plant her new flowers...looking good. Needed to go back in the woods to change batteries and card in a trail cam...have been avoiding that area because Larry comes out nearly everyday...the name my wife gave to a turkey that seems to wander all over our fields feeding. He had a couple of hens, but they've gone to nest.

Good Morning

my appt with the lawyer went reasonably well yesterday (Mon). so much to think about, but I FINALLY feel like I was being heard by somebody (other than friends, family) who can make a difference in my circumstances. this is just the start, but there is a direction now, and for that I am grateful. I paid the retainer, and my lawyer will now be contacting my (estranged) wife's lawyer this week to see if her / their verbal buy-out proposal and details, can be put to writing. then we can respond. Everything feels like a loose end, and yet I had that gut-wrenching feeling that things were moving towards a final resolution. I'm still sad, confused, and numb about all of this, but I now have a lawyer that understands and will cut to the chase. A LOT to sort out, much to clarify, and most of the "dirt" to stay under the rug (my choice). Praying that I am making the right decisions. Mud slinging won't help matters, though i have a lot of notes in the event that details are needed. Lawyer believes that this can be resolved without going to Court first, and that would be the goal. My head is spinning with thoughts, responses, and details.

Managed to have a nice visit with my grandson (14 mos) and his parents, after my appointment. Dinner was good.

Thomas bear came by yesterday silent attack on bird feeder again. This time from different direction. Birds were really mad when we got back from lunch

Glad to hear you are getting some rudder response in a confused sea.

I don’t have bird feeders (other than ones I use in the chicken coop 😁) but I have pondered a way of making them bear resistant/bear-proof.

basically, you need two trees/poles, fasten one end about 15-20 feet up, run the line through a clothesline pulley on the second pole (or even use two pulleys). Fasten your feeders every couple feet along the line, then raise them up. If it is too much weight, maybe some 3/16 steel cable and a boat winch.

just a thought….

Good morning, 41 going to 50 with light rain expected.

Did not sleep well and had to get up with cramp in legs so got up early and walked Cody before daylight.

Going to last appointment for PT this morning. Dr yesterday explained what I can do and not do to avoid further injuries to rotator cuff.
Then going over to get booster number 3 for covid. That coupled with having had the virus should hopefully create good antibodies and protection for the virus.

Scaredy, glad you are getting expert help to sort it out!!

Kilroy, this is a historic picture of Bechtel's early construction work using excavators.

Good stuff! When I was a wee lad, there were still a couple of rail-mounted Bucyrus cranes/draglines in use on the railroads in NJ.

in fact , not far from our woodlot, there is this old crane that has been sitting there since we first came here 9 years ago… I should drive by and see if I can iden what exactly it is…

Good morning, the low temp is 40 and the high to 48°F. Wind SE 5 gusting to 10 mph. 70% chance of rain.

An unscheduled trip to town is in the cards for today, to replay my lottery ticket and re-torque my wheel nuts.

The hoe is not going on today. From Saturday onwards the highs will be in the 60s. The hoe will go on then.

Energy conservation day other than the town run.

check, it is good that you've found someone to help you with your nightmare.

Have a safe day all

Morning, 47 going up to 53 and light rain.
Spring is back.

We had a neighbors dog in MA that used to break into our basement and come upstairs to sleep in my room. Knowing those neighbors I could not blame him.

Still no building activity next door, wonder if the land buy deal is still in play. Not holding my breath though.

This weekend we hope the weather is good for brewfest at Washington's Crossing park. Last year it was mudfest. Big group of us go with rides back/forth so none of the drinkers get behind the wheel.

Be well,

Talked to two of the kids in the last few days:

One quit after being harassed at work but at least she put in a complaint to HR before quitting and with no record of poor performance we will see where that goes. At least she will be paid for the two week notice she did not get and other benefits

The other is trying to not go on the trip to Slovenia to get a break from traveling but still stay on track for Stockholm and Paris trips.

Thank you for you comments. She is mild mannered and soft spoken with Danish accent but she can usually get what she wants based on her ability see what the other person is thinking and counter in such a way he or she is lead in the direction she wants
Wife always had the ability to "read' a room and get what was needed as for instance getting special ed services from schools for our adopted kids that other parents with pricey attorneys were not able to get.
Your Wife has a rare "gift" and appears to use it wisely. I wish that there were more gifted people like her.

Good morning! Low of 48°, heading for a high of 70°. Mostly cloudy now, good chances for showers / T-storms afternoon. Supposed to continue with good chances into tonight. I hope so.....

Got the planters installed, leveled, and got the planting holes augered in about 2' deep.

Today's agenda will be to mix up some amendments into the soil in the tractor bucket, then get them filled. Not sure if we'll get the trees planted today or not...... shooting for that goal, but might be unrealistic.....

Mostly, yes, I definitely have a problem getting my mind to adapt to the physical "new normal".

Time to get started moving..... slowly....

Everyone have a great day!

0.11" of drizzle recorded overnight into this morning it was a foggy, misty, drizzly until midmorning when periods of varying degrees of filtered sunshine started mixing in. This morning's low temperature was 37ºF and it is currently 48ºF. I expect this unsettled weather to continue for the remainder of the day with an afternoon high temperature ~52ºF and there is a chance for afternoon popup showers or maybe even a T-storm if the sun manages to get the existing dynamics "cooking."

I took this picture yesterday. A Common Grackle in a low light environment. I find them amusing I know anyone crowing corn would not agree.
