Looking, you were talking about getting your own diesel to transfer to your home heating oil tank. Idea for you look at the picture of my farm diesel tank located on a steel skid and tied down with chains and truck tie downs for the chains. That way I can pick it up with the forks on the tractor and put it on the trailer and go up to get off-road diesel a lot cheaper than delivered diesel. Around here those farm tanks come up on auction fairly often.

Ted, whim? LOL, only partially. My original planning was for the full 12 ft, but location of the support posts was dictated by the existing concrete and structure, less than 12 ft. I opted for smaller PV array, moving the top beam in. Also why array doesn’t extend to front requiring metal flashing. Figured the extra bracing wouldn’t hurt and made for interesting look at no cost.
Ahh, that 'splains it! It does look pretty cool.....

Slept in until 6:45 and it was WONDERFUL! Except that Harry Houdini Hound keep us up until almost 2AM you long in his crate, until Mrs finally had enough and took him on the couch with her…
And he went right to sleep.

Good to see Harry’s training of the Mrs is going well.

Good (Friday) morning. Overnight Low of 11.5C and it's presently 16.6C, overcast and fairly calm. there was 1mm of rain in the gauge at 0900.

Looks like it's going to be a repeat of yesterday, today. That's fine.

The 'Mad Horse Woman' came over (with her horse) to do some work on my exercise area [I've told her that she can at any time] and we had a nice conversation... it turns out that I had neglected to tell her that I refer to her on TBN as the "Mad Horse Woman" :D . I explained why and that it's said with affection.(y)

I'm off to Ross for a meeting tomorrow morning, so I may be 'reporting in' later. Ross = Eccles Cakes! YAY!

That's about it, take care all.

Well, the guessers got it wrong..... max wind gust was about 25 mph. And there were only a couple of 'em. Just strong 'breezes', maybe 15-20 mph.

Took advantage and got all the gravel spread. Got 90% of what I wanted to cover, covered. I'll order another 28 tons tomorrow. The remaining area only needs about 5 tons, but the balance will recoat the rest of the parking area.

The guessers are still predicting the high winds / red flag warning for tomorrow, along with the 'extreme' fire risk. And, supposedly windy now for Saturday.

Maybe they guessed wrong.... not like that ever happens.

Not legal here. ANY auxiliary tank must be bolted to the bed. The law calls them 'slip tanks'.
Besides, I need to score the pickup, first.

We got up to 75 today. Found out the A/C in the Dodge needs recharging and the garage I deal with cannot do it. Well, my windows open and I've got 4 of them. 4/60 A/C.

Got woken up early by chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp …………..chirp chirp chirp.
So I turned over, till wife did her version that was more annoying than the smoke detector.
Change battery, still chirped, another battery, still chirped. All new batteries dated 2025 and good on the tongue test.
Now my detectors are AC powered, battery backup, all levels of house tied together.
So checked 1st floor, battery dead on the tongue test, so new battery. Still chirping upstairs.
So checked basement, battery dead on tongue test, still chirping upstairs.
Went to garage where I have a brand new detector like the upstairs one. Instructions say, after replacing battery, perform a test. Ok, tested upstairs unit.
Chirp coming from down the hall. Carbon monoxide detector chirping. New batteries, still chirping. Same thing happened last week to downstairs one. Apparently both have expired and needs replaced.

Drove to Ohio with trailer. Installed new washing machine shutoff valves for dad, loaded my old husqvarna mower on trailer. Dad had really beat it up, the front grill was bent sideways and was against tire. I had to beat it with sledge to get tire to turn.
How he did this, I can only guess he doesn’t know.

Sitting outside, talking to dad when wife calls. Smoke detector chirping again. I had them get the new one from garage and swap. No more calls.

I probably shouldn’t, but showed dad where he dislodged a support post in the barn by hitting it with tractor bucket, last fall sometime. It’s only supporting end of a beam holding up the 2nd story where grain used to be stored.

My next project is to get a post under this beam. I don’t think it’s in danger of falling, the rest of the building is holding things together.
But, that’s for another trip.
