Good morning, the low temp is -11and going to a high of 14°F. Wind NW 4 mph. Sunny.
One more night of single digit temps and then we will warm up to just below freezing.

A town/dump run is in the cards for today. I may plow out this place, I haven't decided yet.

Have a safe day all

Good Morning
It’s 44 and sunny now, but that’s the high for the day.

Yesterday was a relatively quiet day, no fires to put out. Spent some time in front of a computer, cleaned up some in the shop, getting ready to build some speakers, material is trickling in, Baltic Birch is on the shelf.
It’s really starting to look like a snowless winter, one where I just stored the snow blade inside for the cold weather without it ever pushing snow.
Still have to make it through March to be sure.

Not much planned for today, going to play music tonight, so I’ll have to figure out what to throw away into the crockpot. RNG’s beef might not be a bad idea if there is something in the freezer.

:eek:RNG, are you saying that you gotta pay tax on the 'relief payments'? I will just bet that the payments come in at about 40-50% LESS than what the materials will cost to rebuild. They've got you coming and going.

+1 on that, Ted. I take it a step farther and pass on buying a used vehicle if I know the PO has been using a K&N filter. The PO of the new-to-me red bike didn't disclose, and I'm dreading what I'll find when I pull the top end apart to replace leaking push rod seals.
Haven't seen many in quite a few years but for many years the oiled foam air cleaners were the hot item for good filtration.
I remember when Mt. Saint Helen popped her cork the Amsoil foam air cleaners that could be washed out and reoiled were the best to have with all the ash in the air plugging paper filters in just a few thousand miles or less for a while.
I see that Amsoil doesn't offer them any more, Uni-filter for off road seems to be the only player left except for small engine prefilters.
The desert racers used to use them frequently of course those engines didn't have that long a life span anyways.

And Good Morning to all today;
When I got up at 5:30 we were still at 31°F it has dropped to 25° now heading downwards all day to a forecast low of -5°F
followed by a high tomorrow of 18°F. We ended up with about 4" of snow and sleet followed by rain all last night which
has left about 2-3 inches of something white on the ground. I'm going to head out in a bit to see what I can do with it.
Don't know if I'll use a blade or just spread a bunch of sand on top of the mess.
Everyone stay safe and get well.
Fun Fun Fun NOT

Who doesn't remember getting your first oiled filter and putting the marveled mystery oil on it?
I always thought the big problem with the oiled filters was that people let them run dry in which case they were just a large object filter.

I always thought the big problem with the oiled filters was that people let them run dry in which case they were just a large object filter.

The filer oil is very tacky, even more so than bar and chain oil. Other oils seriously reduce its ability to filter.

Good morning, 39 going to 59 today some wind and overnight as well.

Never hooked up the snowplows this year and looks like no snow this season but can still happen.

Going to town to pick up a prescription this morning. The appointment I could get for my shoulder is in mid March. Cancelled an earlier appointment with a much bigger group that could see me same day. Turned out to be with a PA not the doctor and then got a bill for no show.
With older age comes some of these problems and I don't like it. But overall I am doing well I am reminding myself.

the "better" Fram filter that has not come in looks like it has thicker media and comes pre-oiled.
They talk about better filtration, but no one wants to talk specs, like microns, how that changes over time, etc.

I put the basic paper one in for now, and when this one comes in, will swap it out and use other as spare.
Or in case Mt Helens pops off again if I drive West........ ;)

3 freezies and one basal cell biopsy this morning. About normal.

Drew good luck with skin cancer always close to us never ending I’m sorry to say. Skin cancer travels throughout one’s skin and can appear in areas that have never seen the light of day.

Good morning! 30° now, predicted high is 39° or so. Big change from yesterday’s 71°!

We have had some snow this winter, but maybe 1” was the most we had at any one time. And that was gone in days. But March has had some big snows in the past, so not time to put the snow blower away yet.

Many race bikes run K&N filters with seemingly no major damage or significant wear. These modern engines last much better. But I chose the UNI 2 stage foam filters for mine.

Oxygen regulator stopped regulating on my torch set this week. Found a broken seal ring. Local welding supply place stopped selling rebuild kits due to liability. But I walked out with a new Victor regulator for $80. So I was able to finish a project.

Not sure what I will get into today…..always something

Everyone stay safe out there!

63°F and 3.03 inches rain.

Off to Hilo this morning. A bit of grocery shopping and errands. Stop by the PO on way home.

Not sure what I’ll get into when we get home. Will be weather dependent I’m sure.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

30F here as well and mostly cloudy @ 10:45, heading up to 34F maybe for the high.

Tried the Apple Crisp before I went to bed, was very tasty ... (y)

Woman was up when I got up, announced She was sick and was going back to bed. She thinks it might be the flu apparently ... :(

So I'll be tending to Her needs today, assuming She has any ... other than "Get away and just leave me alone ..."

Late last night I got the excess glue scraped off the piece that split that I glued back together, still a little more sanding/clean up to do on it though.

Agenda for the rest of the day:

Refill hopper and tube feeders, probably refill deer feeder and a suet feeder while I'm at it.

Clear off table top for woodworking bench and hit it again, this time with the random orbital sander.

Once that's done I'll swap out the the plunge base on the router for the fixed base and figure out the offset from the outside edge of the base to the centerline.

After that's done I need to lay out and mark the grid for the dovetail grooves for the MicroJig clamps. There will be 9 slots that run the length of the table and 17 slots that run the depth/width.

Following that will need get the Swanson saw guide set up so I can run the router along it.

After that I can start routing slots.

Amazon due in today with 2 1/2 OD tubing and the flush trim router bit.

Interestingly, the vacuum hose and adapters aren't due in until tomorrow. They were shipped out of Twinsburg, OH yesterday (I assume from an Amazon warehouse) - which is about 25 miles from where I live - and sent to somewhere in Illinois. They are being delivered via USPS ... which seems to just nuts to me but what do I know ...

Hope everyone is having a great Friday ... (y)

I know I appreciated my wife bringing me coffee. I don’t usually drink coffee unless I’m sick or a sore throat.

My son might have gotten the job as a remote data analyst for a company in Denver. He sent back answers to a written interview form, I expected it to be a prescreening, but today they sent email saying they wanted to hire and HR will be sending him an offer. They mentioned hourly rate, so not sure if it will be full time, but the rate was good.

I’m a little better, still coughing but not as bad.
