You should have posted here, we could use another drain plug thread :)

As I was laying under the car, rounding it off, the thought did cross my mind.
And I ripped my rubber glove, and when I did pull the plug the pan wasn’t over enough and a bunch of oil got on the floor and my hand and made a real mess, probably the messiest oil change I’ve ever gone. 150k on the Subaru.
I think another wheel bearing is going, it’s starting to make that sound again.

Bird Happy Birthday I know more about what you are dealing with than you can imagine keep a strong support staff around you prayers sent

   / Good morning!!!! #163,724
Dennis, you reminded me of the previous oil change I did on the truck....
I usually leave the bolt and crush washer sitting right next to the drain pan.... except that one time, it rolled into some dirt. I took it over to the bench, took off the washer, and cleaned them both.
Then proceeded to take only the bolt back to the truck, and install it. Then fill the engine with 6qts of syn oil.

Then, when I saw that minuscule oil drip..... yep realized exactly what was happening. It was some quick hand movements and putting a washer on one handed.... fortunately only lost a few ounces, but did make a mess....

No shop time today.... just didn't feel up to it. Wind kicked up a bit, I think that played a part.... Spent the day making a few phone calls --- especially one to the Ortho center about scheduling the second opinion.

That didn't go too good.... the doc that my surgeon referred me to no longer accepts my insurance.... they told me they kicked the referral back to the surgeon. Wonder when anybody was going to tell me?

This is just getting ridiculous for sure! They don't know how stubborn I am, nor how I expect things to be handled effectively..... If they are expecting me to give up and go away ---- they have another thing coming.....

Enough of a rant...
I hope everyone has a nice evening!

Don I think I asked the question poorly. Can you talk with wife in Spanish and use the Spanish you have already covered in app correctly.
She can, I can't, she is years ahead of me. She has been taking numerous neighborhood Spanish classes and is about 60 units ahead in the app. We are starting to substitute words/phrases as we talk. It's hard to pick up the verbal words but if there is closed caption I do a lot better.

Went to till the garden and the gas tiller would not continue running. Time to go battery power with an EGO tiller attachment.

Hang in there LS.

Bird, Happy Birthday!!!

Good evening all. 29ºF for the start, partly cloudy, light breeze. Light to moderate wind, mostly clear sky, and high temp was 60ºF. Putter in morning , then trip to Fort Wort to retrieve my fish finder. They said it needed updating, from their description sounds like OS needed refreshing. Wife cam along so had lunch at Applebees, gas up at Costco 2.99/gal., 2 weeks ago gas was 2.65/gal :( Did get bike ride in, Trek needed some TLC, should be ok in morning.
Buppies good to hear you and wife are home safe.
Ron good to hear groceries good. Sorry about shingles shot side effects. I have heard turf tire better for for snow, but never converted 1700 due to cost of new rims and front tires/wheels.

Good morning, the temperature now is 26 and the high will be 19°F. Wind W 16 gusting to 25 mph. Snow. Snowing right now. The weather guessers said 2-5cm which is a cats whisker under 2". So far there is 3" on the railing and there is another 5 hours left in this cloud according to the radar. No doubt about it, I WILL be plowing in the morning.

I didn't expect to be up this early and wide awake. I will go back to bed in a hour or so for a couple more.

Have a safe day all

   / Good morning!!!! #163,733
Coffee is brewing. 25° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 29° with afternoon snow. Yesterday was mostly conserve energy. Did clean up drive and walkway to be sure snow forecast for today is easier to clean up. Neighbor came over with his 9 month old daughter. Sassy had a great time. Today is going to be another conserve energy day.
Caught this moon picture in the evening in a very short break in the clouds. There was a contest run by one of the radio station in Detroit. To guess how many minutes of sun light we would have during the month of February. My guess was not enough.
Took this moon picture in the evening during break in clouds. Never got a chance take a better picture. Before it went back behind the clouds.

Good Morning All.

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

20.5F right now, allegedly going up into mid 50’s. Pobwbly will drop another degree or two first though.

Made it through another work week, system still occasionally wonky, but real jobs are trickling in. Unfortunately, some of the issues that affected the training system may have leaked into the production system, although far fewer and far between-er, but it is something to stay on top of. Modern Technology is WONDERFUL (especially when it works…).

Took the dog up the woodlot Thursday - happy puppy. Depending on how the day goes, she may go up this afternoon before lousy weather moves in the next several days so we can stave off Doggie Depression.

I picked up two 1” black pipe nipples and need to trim them down to 2-5/8“ long. I am going to use them as spacers to keep the ends of the lower Fergie-type arms to the outboard of the Case Eagle mounting shafts for better triangulation and stability of implements. I don’t really have any provision for easily mounting chains or bars, so I will try this first and see how it helps. I also recent ly realized that the bars I bought are not exactly symmetrical end-to-end, and of course I flipped one, so this is also a good time to correct that without Mrs finding out!

and now to catch up on three days of missed posts!

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe blessed day!

Good evening all. 34ºF for the start, overcast, light breeze, about 1 inch snow on ground and .8 inch in rain gauge. Light wind, some clearing of sky in afternoon, and high temp was 44ºF. 10 day outlook is on cool side with rain and 2 more snow chances. Men's Meeting canceled due to last night road closures in subdivision. revived fire in insert after ash cleaning. Puttered good chunk of day, did ride on stationary bike. Mexican for dinner tonight :)
Scaredy easy to conserve energy in winter, especially on poor weather days. Bike took the worst of the fall, I did get a raspberry on right knee.
Ron so you still have 4 items to find.
Dennis hope painting went well. I knew It was possibly gone when after hitting post button got msg down for maintenance :(
Kilroy glad HVAC did not run last night.
Drew hope you can get away with no heavy coat. At end of trip to Jamaica, return to STL 4ºF and winds 25 gusting to 35, I regretted no heavy coat.
Kilroy good to hear scoring and training more better. Management has no one to blame then themselves. Hope mushrooms are good. Scooter (stepdaughter's dog we dogsit on occasion) same way especially in bad winter weather.
Mike good to hear firewood got processed.
Bill hope seat time fun. Hope you enjoyed conserving energy today.
Buppies glad you got some quality time with wife on here birthday. Hope travel is/was uneventful. prayer sent.
Billy hope taxes go well. Bet target practice fun.
Paul sorry for problems with Verizon, have to wonder what they are doing to your account. Good to hear TV project finished.
Drew you on computer browser or phone app?
Dave hope you are ready for dusting.
Ken hope you are getting more endurance, and son doing better.
James hope you got your errands done before the brunt of storm hit.
Paul the problem with coax is it is probably older so not made for highr speeds, and all cable lose speed over the years. My guess is the coax will not have high throughput.
Jim Hope you did not need generator. Glad mystery truck found out. Hope barn construction continues.
Don glad you got some rain. Do you have any way to know how much Spanish you are learning on the app?
Larry(atomicsloth) Welcome to GM thread. Live close to river?
Dennis I agree , they should ask before cutting ends off.
Ted hope you get some snow. Hope the attorney went well and you can get some sanity in insurance/disability process.
Dennis glad you got a reprieve on ceiling.
David hope you archived your goal Glad beers with friend was good. Hope car works out for you.
Dennis may get more light from fixtures. Painted ceiling at work, they jokes about needing sun glasses after fresh paint applied.
Ken hope you get neighbor gets the message.
Drew snow is always so pretty, but ugly to drive in :(
Alan no but have seen some shows that dealt with the subject.
Thomas hope snow control goes well. Hope day closely resembles your plan.
Dennis nice progress on ceiling. Hope you can get away with paint close to fan.
Frits hope you find plenty of deductions. Good luck find the Mac you want. Nice pics
David glad racking is all up.
Doug who would pay anything for that mower?
David I guess you must need the surgery with the last exchange like that.
Doug I wonder who would pay for mower like 2nd pic.
Drew sorry about power lost.
Randy(wag) most of putting away is complete.
prayer for all, especially Jay/Peg, Kyle /Daughter, /mom's breathing, /learning new job, /friends upcoming new baby, /son's migraines, Bird /aging issues, Ron /broken arm and heart, Billy /mom hypertension & congestive heart failure, David(moss) /remodel, /divorce, Buppies /new skin cancer spot and treatment, /elbow healing, /wife knee healing, Thomas /gout, Phil /reflux, /wife's voice, Frits /veteran son with mental issues, Ken /dad possible dementia, /uncle's surgery, Steppenwolfe /son-auto immune disorder, Grev /wife's eye, Ted /knee recovery, /retirement & disability red tape, /family issues, /wife feeling bad, Lou /eye issues, Doug and wife/health issues, / hand nerve and surgery, /fall and recovery, / wife headaches and heart eval, / David(sadamo)/Sophie's new eye surgery recovery, Chris /neighbor's granddaughter and Covid issues, Scaredy/shoulder dislocation, /marriage not doing well, / friend stop drinking, Paul/ wife's healing from back surgery, Dennis /retirement, /neighbor issues, /land development, / brother "alligallyitus" and back in hospital, Drew /foot heel issues, /friend's wife cancer diagnosis and recovery, mike /wife's surgery, Scotty, /back pain, Frits /daughter recovery from surgery, Helogabals /second opinion, /wife's friend situation, Mark /wife colon surgery, Fatjay /father broken hip, Ukraine war, and Country.
Forgot the mushrooms in the fridge, yesterday morning before clocking in I went right to the lunchroom and put them I. The backseat of the vehicle. Made a5 -egg omelet with spinach, onion, feta and mushroom for dinner. Mrs approved👍.

I had a brief visit with my 11 month old grandson, and his parents, the other day. I know that this is probably better suited for the family news thread, but the little extra joy that I have in my life right now is this little bundle ... and I wanted to share it here. ❤️

if it makes your morning good, then it certainly belongs in “Good Morning” 😁👍

   / Good morning!!!! #163,738
good morning all
46 degrees, high of the day; 1.36 inches from last storm

Check, not yet, a get to it. I have a very small house with the gen right outside the wall; bet if I leaned a big piece of plywood on two sides it would help.
I'm happy it starts reliably on fairly small propane tanks; 40 gal with 30 gal backup. Reminds me need to go out and take cover off and dry it off today, got wet last night
running while power out and raining. Am wondering if I left the cover on (worry about hot exhaust nearby) would that lower noise. Bet it would, though only heavy duty vinyl.
It's not the exhaust noise, but the engine itself. Happens to be at a resonant frequency that bothers my ears/tinnitus. Power was out for about an hour. If it wasn't 33 out, I would have waited a bit to turn on the gen.

lots to do today, starting out with long soak in hot shower. I travel with my Verizon Mifi so internet pretty reliable. Brother coming over at 2:30pm to take me to the garden
spot of the Garden State, the Trenton train station. Pretty grim place.
The only thing good that comes out of Trenton anymore is Taylor Ham (and Case’s Pork Roll, before I get flamed… Ford vs Chevy…). I used to refer to it as “Minas Morghul”.

And the REAL garden spot is Camden. . .

   / Good morning!!!! #163,739
the top/main floor has been cleaned up a little, but when you go down to the tracks, looks like it did 50 years ago. Glassed in waiting room downstairs, no heat, grimy, learned to stay upstairs until last minute.
I always preferred waiting out on the platform, so I could distance myself from the indigenous life-forms and have clear 360 views of my surroundings. . .

   / Good morning!!!! #163,740
Morning all, 30 going up to 43 and mostly cloudy.
Drove the kid around, did day job, too much rain for outside work.
Need to get hole cut to drag wire through tonight.

Scaredy - wishing you on the path to happier times
Drew - safe travels - Trenton stories, I have a few...Amazing how seats of governments are always crime ridden and poor.
Newark- another fun place- train station not too bad, just dirty. Interesting people......

Be well,
Beautiful Art Deco architecture in Newark Station. Too bad it is in Newark. . .
