Afternoon all!
34 with full sun and little wind! Absolutely gorgeous out there.
Next four days should be nice as well.
Hand specialist today confirms arthritis in my thumb has gotten much worse. Was told not much they can do to make it better. Surgery is possible but not recommended.
Going for a therapy session next week to see if I can learn how to do things without causing more damage.
Wife is feeling better and is able to squawk some. Only a few days on meds so we will wait and see for progress.
The last two storms were a complete heavy wet mess for us! Glad I modified the chains and got them put on last month. Wouldn't be able to go anywhere with this ice.
Nothing planned for projects. Might mess around in the woodshop as hands allow.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

I used Dicor Self-Leveling Lap Sealant on my RV's. Around items like vents in roof. I used EternaBond Roof Seal Tape. Then using Dicor around all edges of tape.
I do not do a very good job with caulking. Recently I purchase a battery operated caulk gun. Solve most of my problems with doing a good caulk job. I can control speed and it automatically backs off pressure on caulk tube whenever I release trigger. Ryobi Caulk Gun. I already had Ryobi battery tools. So it was a easy choice which one to buy.
I used that EternaBond roof seal tape on your reco on a place where two sections of galvanized roof fit together from one level of shelter to the lower level of shelter addition. Added it maybe 3 years ago, and still working great. On one spot where I messed up, I sprayed Flex seal over it and holding up well, too. (y)

RNG - We have Liberty Mutual - more expensive, but they have honored every claim, even reimbursed me for the rental rock slide damage in Switzerland.
I've been turned down for homeowner's insurance by all the big companies. I used to be with Liberty Mutual, but they declined to renew the policy several years ago. Most of my neighbors are in the same boat, and lots of companies are dropping coverage for their California clients.

Maybe it is time to sell and get out of Cali?

The area around Lompoc and North of there is very nice area and close to highway 1 which is very pretty. Love that drive north to Carmel. That drive is for people with lots of time on their hands. When we drove to SF we took highway 5 which is the direct route but not nearly as nice a drive. Got a speeding ticket 120 mph but he was nice and wrote it up as 90. He did not believe the old
Volvo would do 120. Little did he know

Kitchen ceiling painting done except………

Had a drywall repair I sanded down, wasn’t happy and put new coat of mud on it. Painted around it for now. I did remove ceiling fan shroud and painted under it. Knew it would bug me if I didn’t.

39° and sunny.

Hi there, just my thoughts on your patch. Being a forty year painting Contractor, I would suggest you seal that patch very well for the same sheen as the rest of the ceiling, unless you are using a flat paint! ☮️✌🏻

I'm afraid I haven't been keeping up with the posts on Tractorbynet lately. Txdon, I guess I was a little surprised to see you are trying to learn Spanish. Way back in the dark ages when I was 15 years old in school in Marlow, OK, we had a quite elderly white haired lady who taught both English AND Spanish and I think she was quite good at it. Anyway I tried to get some of my buddies to take Spanish with me and they all refused. So it was just me and 6 girls in the class. I still remember my text book was "El Camino Real". It was a quite enjoyable class. However, that summer we moved from Marlow, OK to Marrietta, OK and the school in Marrietta did not teach Spanish. You had to take 2 years for 2 credits so I got the first year, no credit, and never got the second year; something I've always regretted.

I mentioned above that I have not been keeping up with the posts on TBN. I guess, as a city boy now, I haven't kept up with farm stuff . . . AND . . . my Alzheimer's continues to gradually get worse.

I'm sure I've mentioned before that my Dad, who smoked most of his life, died of Alzheimer's at the age of 80, just as his Dad, who never smoked, died of Alzheimer's at the age of 80 also. I really don't think it has anything to do with it all, but I quit smoking about 19 years ago, and I'll be 83 years old tomorrow. No other male member of my family ever made it to 81.

Now I'm not planning to die anytime soon, but I think I've had more fun than most, and a good wife the last 57 years, so hope you can all say the same some day.

It will get primed and painted. It is flat ceiling paint.

Happy birthday Bird. Good to hear from you.

I got oil changed on Subaru. Had trouble getting drain plug out. Was in a hurry and used 12 pT instead of 6 and messed it up some.

Good (Saturday) morning. Overnight Low of 16C and it's presently 28.6C, heading towards lower 30'sC so it'll probably be a 'bravely hide in the house' day. It's fairly calm and hazy.

Everything accomplished yesterday, especially in anticipation of today's 'hot' (for me) weather.

That's about it, take care all.

My MIL is 98, hang in there.
Try thinking of it in tortoise years. Your probably about 40.
The longest living tortoise was Adwaita, an Aldabra giant tortoise that died in 2006 in the Alipore Zoological Gardens of Kolkata India, is believed for the tortoise to have lived to the age of 255 years but this has not been confirmed.
So happy 41st Birthday!
