Kyle Sorry about the illness. hopefully it is a 24 or 36 hour bug. Prayers sent. Have not heard much on alligators in this neck of the woods. Thanks for BB Texas update. Thanks for new machine update. What are you using to generate 5 axis cutter path files. Can you do simultaneous 5 axis moves?
I bought a seat of mastercam for educational purposes. One of the benefits of working in Academia. Yes, it can do full 5 axis moves, but it also has a feature called TCPC that I'm not familiar with. I haven't studied TCPC much yet, If I can locate my material in the machine exactly like it is in the cam file, I don't believe you need it, but, if material is out of place you can use TCPC which does the background math and changes all moves to G1's (no arcs) to accomplish the same basic thing.

Good morning to all! Low of 34°. Winds kicked up right about 21:00. Highest gust was 40.7 mph. They predicted gusts as high as 60, so feel fortunate not as high. Light rain started around 05:30. ---- with the occasional wet snowflakes coming down. Still ??? as to any accumulation.

No wind damage that I can see this morning. I think we got lucky.

BEF, the UPS a 1500w, true sine wave. Unfortunately, definitely not big enough to "run" longer than about 4 minutes after a "starting" draw down of power. The igniter just draws too many amps. My main purpose was to just keep the programming memory, or if it was already running, the time to get it 'properly' turned off. So, will work for the intended purpose.
Oh, someone must have seen you wearing shorts out on the trail --- hence the " hottie" label :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:(y)

RNG, wow! just wow! That roof really flew far! .... could've been a lot worse. Glad you were able to get someone out there for an estimate. Fingers crossed for an easy insurance payout.

Fritz, nice to hear about your daughter. She should take pride in her accomplishment. She definitely didn't have "the easy road" to get there!

Kyle, that's quite the machine! Do you feel like you're back in school? I have a hard time just resetting the clocks ......o_O:unsure:

Kilroy, a little shot of ether never hurt anyone..... right? ---- oh wait.... you used it on the chainsaw.... duh!

I did get the propane tanks filled. On the way back, saw /passed a convoy of the electric co's trucks, one had a big transformer on it. Hopefully it will mean an end to the recent outages. After unloading the tanks, just piddled around.

Need to get out to the grocery this morning. Small list, but wifey wants to make a lasagna for New Years. I'll still do the ribeye roast, the lasagna will be a side. Just a few other staples to restock the cabinets.

After that, it will be an inside day. Might organize the 'end of year' paperwork into storage file boxes. Just a few more will have to go in, but that will be easy once finalized. It will be a good rainy day project.

Everyone have a great day!

Good Morning. Just thought I would check this thread out. 16K pages wow. And of course, I read every page. I know you don't believe that - I wouldn't. Weather seems like it is going to break an make it into the 50s today. A few warm day will feel really nice after -8 temperatures.

I went out to plow at 9:15 A.M. and got back in at 1:00 P.M. All my banks are pushed back and the driveway is right down to the dirt in places. The other 4 driveways are also done. I found out what is not correct with the right front tire chain, I will fix it on Friday when it is warm out. I need to get more cut off disks for my angle grinder tomorrow and some more screw clevises. I am running low.

Ron, your picture taking skills blow mine right out of the water.

m7040, poor puppy. It even looks unhappy.

Ran the wife into town to get her free birthday ice cream from Cold Stone. All she had to do is buy another, on my credit card.
Back to work, my boss authorized 1 day a week from home, he didn’t remove that when I said I was retiring, so I’m using it. Today I’m using python to read from SQL database. 1.5 days left, but who’s counting.

41F and partly cloudy @ 14:00, heading up to a high of around 42F.

Got more staining done yesterday, hopefully dry enough today that I can pick it up and scope it out to see if I missed anything or if any parts need a second coat.

Fed fishies, did some vacuuming of gravel in the 55 gallon fryeri tank, moved a HOB filter from that over to a 30 gallon, changed a couple of pre filters, also washed out a bunch.

Woman was on a cleaning tear and ran the well dry, had to shut off the pump to keep it from burning up from running dry.

Went over last night to relatives to help with leftover clean up since there weren't many takers on Christmas Day and watched a Dick Cavett/Groucho Marx special on PBS which was pretty funny. Groucho was a very funny guy.

Headed back to the house around 22:00, said something to The Woman about getting out there today with the Kubota and clearing the snow. She said just to leave it, since it was going to be warming up. I like the way She's thinking on that.

After we got back we started working on the kitchen and more cleaning.

I got a utensil rack mounted under the cabinets next to the stove and got a cord holder put on her new food processor. Also gave the bread box a thorough cleaning.

She went back to cleaning, restarted the washer to finish the load that was in it, and then started a second load after that ... and promptly ran the well dry ... yet again ... 🤬

So I went down and shut it off ... yet again ...

Took that opportunity to check the pre charge in the pressure tank, it had 20+ lbs in it ... so it's a little low (should be around 38 psi) ... but good in that it shows that the bladder isn't ruptured.

Will handle that later today after I get back from running around.

Agenda for rest of today:

Run to Menards to pick up critter food order, also pick up lumber for woodworking table.

Will take the cans and pick up 7 gallons of E0 for the Cub on the way back.

Torpedo heater is almost empty so will likely run down to the corner and pick up some diesel for it after I get back.

Top up the pressure tank.

Maybe some work in the fish room later.

Plus whatever else comes up.

Hope everyone is having a good Hump Day ... (y)

Had my annual eye exam today. She said she can't make me see any better due to cataracts, getting worse. I have pretty decent vision currently, so it's something to get done in the future. I was even considering cancelling the exam, but with insurance it was gonna be free anyway. She put those dilating drops in, which lasted 2 hours. With the sun out and snow on the ground, I was about blinded. Uggh! I stopped at Wallyworld, while I was out. I went in for bird food but ended up spending $150 on groceries. I don't shop there very often. I'm thinking of getting a "water cooler" that uses the 4 - 5 gallon bottles. My well water has been decent, but has recently been leaving me with a "salty" taste. The county will test the water for free, but the results are rather limited (bacteria and nitrates only, I think).

Thomas: nice kitty. Be sure to check often on the Mrs to be sure she's okay. I've done that on ladders a couple times, thinking I was on the last wrung, when I wasn't. Ouch!

Got in touch with an old coworker from 30+ years ago. He sold his place last year in the city, bought 39 acres about 20 some minutes from me and built a new house. His wife is retired teacher, he is still working. Gotta go visit. I asked him how many tractors he has.

Thomas, glad it did not go any worse. Wish Mrs speedy recovery and hopefully not too much pain.

The SW airline fiasco is huge. Anyone having family stuck at an airport?
Remember using SW when they first started going from Hobby airport Houston to Love Field Dallas.

One of our daughters brought us Peking Duck for dinner. Very nice surprise

Checked for damage found on the property. Only one small tree down but lots of tree shelter on the ground and the 20 ft barn sliding door was jammed on the bottom guide
