That’s the V11, regular $650, now $499 at $150 off.
Wonder how much difference in the two. The V10 “animal” is $399 on sale tomorrow.
The battery in the 11 is larger and increases run time. For $100 extra it is worth it. We have the 11.

Hope all are warm, safe and where they want to be.

Wife is in private room and may be discharged in a day or so. We have been here before so no big deal. Miss my girls though. Docs said all went well. Just need clean bill of health from pathology. Double vision was an issue last night....to many drugs. Neurologist was called in and still checked out good.
First and foremost, Prayers for your wifey Rip, your family, and her medical team. Glad she's home. Giving her care is not a burden, it is a blessing.
Lou, prayers for your younger brother. Prayers for comfort, and for the whole family.

Why is it that family drama always shows up at the holiday time? Started yesterday.... continued this morning.... I'm staying out of it!
I got flanked by my personal demons after passing a nasty crash on the way back from Colorado..... can't get a few memories out of my thoughts.... I don't need any more on the plate....
LS, sorry about your drama. Just keep telling yourself when you drive past wrecks, that you were in a position to help others, and you did, thru thick and thin.

A person was killed driving home from work this afternoon close to our house on Tower road. A big tree fell down killed instantly.

People living up the road from us have a lot of large trees along the road. During storms it is real hazard. Driving home during storms they are very much at risk
Drew had just mentioned the danger of falling trees. How sad.

A very good Christmas morning to you all. Lovely warm summer morning here. Odd to hear most of you guys having heating and electricity problems. I hope it gets sorted for you.
Grandkids up early and playing with their new toys. Gave the dogs some treats.
Still getting over my fractured leg but I can get around sort of OK. I get tired quickly. Hands nearly healed. Just a bit tender in places. Trip to the dentist was cancelled as he came down with alligatorus. I have to put up with toothache for another 4 days.
Hope you all have a safe and enjoyable festive season.
Doug and Lesley
Good to hear from you Doug and Lesley. Prayers your ailments get better fast.
I don't go out in ice since I slipped and fell on the backyard patio a month after knee replacement last year. That night Whipper, who heard me yell when I fell, alerted my wife. Luckily no ice in this arctic cold front, oh, I always carry my cell.
crampons? also to aerate the yard.
My 70th birthday was today. Merry Christmas in 7 minutes!
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY FUDDY!
Merry Christmas

66°F and no rain.

I did get my HD shopping, fuel run, and P.O. visit in yesterday.

Relaxed holiday ahead. I’m cooking a ham for dinner gathering with friends.

Prayers for all
Be safe (and warm)
Have a great day
Sounds like a nice gathering.
We don’t get each other presents any more, but I did put extra candy in her stocking.

might get her that dyson cordless vac next time it goes on sale.
First, give her an amazon card for some money, in a card, and tell her to buy whatever she wants....THEN later, buy yourself the vacuum. Sage advise, sage advise.

Check, I hope y'all get better soon too.

I'm under the weather. Persistent cough/hack, no sleep. Last night and today much worse. Went to clinic. Negative on alligator bite and flu. I had flu shot last month. Going to Wally world in a minute to get some antibiotics and cough medicine. Don't feel like doing anything other than laying on couch. Very low grade fever. Will wear mask in public.

Ate too much salt on Christmas day. Felt weird. Took B/P, 169/94 high for me. Took an extra BPH pill that keeps BP down, it worked in about 1.5 hours. Low salt days yesterday and today. Hypertension is down.

Sister in DFW area says many out with alligatoritis. Maybe they are using it as a reason to play hookey. not sure. She's working doubles everyday.

RNG, sorry about your storm damage. Glad you are alright. I had a blue tarp on my roof for almost a month waiting on roofers. Screwed down 1x4's to hold it down on all sides.

It took me parts of all day to get caught up. I hope I didn't miss any major drama.

Latest on Battleship of Texas repairs. Wow, what a big job.

PopG, Zoe pup is a darling. Your hands have a lot of knowledge guiding them. Being a machinist, cuts don't bother me much at all.

Prayers for our team, for peace in Ukraine, and the whole world.

So my new cnc mill at work has a 5 axis, and it is not a standard trunnion. What this means is I have had to go the drawing board to import cad files, separate and save them in location as .stl files, then pull them into the Machine Simulator. Then give each its limits according the the mfg. This is supposed to help me NOT crash the machine once it is all setup. I have been so busy with other things.
I'm off this week, but......
Here's my homework results.

This 5 axis is called a tilt rotary, TRT160. All the axis move correctly when properly assembled. Woo hoo!

RNG, that cover for the stove pipe sure caught a lot of wind. Any chance to replace the pipe without the decorative cover?
I sure hope so, Don. Turns out the base was only nailed to the roof sheathing. And to think I'd been leaning a ladder against it to clean the flue!

We'll see what the wood stove dealer recommends, then go from there.

Drew?
Don, Amtrak is happy to sell me a coach seat for about 460 round trip.
I have zero desire or ability to sit in that seat for 26 hours. I need a quiet room with my own toilet and a place to lie down.
Or I would not take the train. So it's a sleeper or nothing

Good evening.

I'm up early tomorrow to head to SoCal again, so may be irregular in posting for a while.

Today was busy. I was able to get a roofer to come out and patch the hole where the wood stovepipe comes through the roof. He'll be quoting on repairing the concrete tiles, and also on replacing them with steel. Real nice guy, mature and experienced, and lots of positive Yelp! reviews. Tried to save himself another trip up on the roof to examine a damaged vent, but it was way too windy for his Mavic Mini drone. As soon as it cleared the roof peak, the motors went full bore to keep station, and were barely keeping up.

Playing phone tag with another roofer to get a backup quote, and will maybe get that nailed down tomorrow.

Did a rough cleanup, getting debris out of the way of the back garage door, and have started a list of damages. Big scratches on the back wall where the porch cover rode up and down it before it took flight. That's what wiped out the outdoor shower valve and stadium LED light. Took a quick walk around the property and found two more oak trees down, both had been damaged by the Camp Fire and broke off at the stump.

porchCoverRestingPlace.jpg

Also walked down to where the porch cover came to rest. Pretty close call for the Starlink and Dish antennas. Looks like somewhere along the line the porch cover broke into two pieces. It started life as a 13'x26' roof, and maybe the landing broke it up. It was installed on the back of the house, the right side in the photo. All the way at the opposite end of the house, probably 300' from where it ended up. Might be able to repurpose some of the sheathing and 2x6s, but not for another porch cover...

backOfHouse.jpg

Looks like three impacts on the back roof. Porch cover was over the right end of the patio. There's also damage on the left end of the roof, on the other side of the peak. Could be that last hit is when it broke up.

Spoke with a claims agent and a claims adjustor at the insurance company, and the adjustor will be out next week to take a look. So far, so good.

The solar panel array is just to the south of the porch cover, and it survived the winds with no damage. Could have been a whole different story with a different landing location.

If this weather system is headed your way, batten down the hatches! This is easily the most violent storm I've seen in my almost 13 years here. Just more incentive to find someplace safer.

Sounds like train or cruise only. On a cruise you will be fined $300 per person for disembarking in a port other than the originating one. We learned about this when we were sailing from Galveston to Key West and my wife broke her arm. It is an old law still on the books and currently enforced: Passenger Vessel Services Act of 1886 (also known as the PVSA).
(Dr. in Key West said nothing could be done for about a week till the swelling went down so we continued the cruse.)

More snow headed my way tonight AND freezing rain for tomorrow. I was going to go to North Bay after I plowed, but I will put that trip off until Thursday, now. The North Bay trip is NOT a life or death situation so not worth the risk. The Dodge may be 'all wheel drive' but that is a far cry from 4 wheel drive.

Thanks, Thomas. Feeling about the same, but the new development is my sense of taste went! Really pissed me off because we were just about to have some of that delicious turkey from Christmas and I may as well have eaten cardboard!

I hope this phase doesn’t last long!

Good (Wednesday) arvo. Overnight Low was a surprising 18C and the High was 27.6C. A wee sprinkle of raindrops and the wind kicked up later on.

Now that my Mate from Brisbane is here we were able to truly attack the vine, especially as he's the only one of us who's nimble enough to go up on the roof. We accomplished the task, loaded up & dumped the debris and put all of the ladders/tools away in the shed... as we walked back and admired our work, of course that's when a long-handled secateurs was spotted still on the roof. (reset the ladder and retrieved)

The rest of the day has been spent in in great conversation, a few libations and watching the Test Cricket match.

That's about it, take care all.

good morning all
oh my RNG, so sorry for all that damage. You take such pride in maintaining and improving your place, hard to see it get messed up.

waking up to first cup of coffee. Watched a number of medical videos last night. Most of them showing damage done by sugar to our bodies.
And things like going to bathroom three times a night. Hmmmm. I thought that was BPH, etc. Maybe it's my liver talking to me.
one thing videos said was to try to get off as much medicine as possible, seems counterintuitive, but liver has to filter everything, good and bad.
And none of us want a "fatty liver". I can only wonder what the steroids I have to take are aggravating other issues, like wack a mole.
One video reminded me to refill my niacin supply.

this morning off to pick up a friend and go to Costco. I'm on the hunt for lasagna for the freezer. I might get some gas there if line is not too long.
Not sure if Costco is "certified" gas.

24 going up to a balmy 44.

Coffee is brewing. 27° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 37° with sun shine in afternoon. Stuck to my conserve energy plan yesterday. Off to see finance guy this morning. Then a trip with neighbor to Williams Gunsight in Davison, MI. I want to get a replacement sight for my Remington 510-P. That should fill the day in.
Friends?

RNG, hope repairs get done quickly.

Drew, get off as much meds as you can.

Everyone stay safe and well.

Good Morning All.

Kilroy
I have been watching older TV programs during relaxing times. Dragnet, Jack Benny, Burns and Allen, laugh-in and others. Some of them would not be allowed because someone would be offended. I like Highway Patrol. Seeing cars from the 50s.
I get 60 Local channels from roof mounted antenna. Now that I have it tuned in. About to dump cable TV.
There is a Classics Radio channel on satellite radio that I listen to often...yesterday on the way to the mountains I was laughing out loud to the Jack Benny Radio program broadcast originally on New Year's Eve, 1939.

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or not screw up too badly).

16F, forecast said mid-20s overnight, MrsKilroyJC said “Don’t put in too much wood because it isn’t going down so low tonight” again, HVAC came on around 3am and has been cycling ever since. Stove can’t heat without fuel, but she only thinks it adds temperature, not duration. She’s a Jersey Girl and doesn’t pump her own gas. I think she has done it TWICE since we left Jersey in almost 9 years ago, so I cannot even use the “gas tank/logs vs gas pedal/damper” analogy all that effectively. . .

The final part of my WoodMizer order arrived yesterday - YAY! Original order was placed April 6th. . .

Yesterday was basically another couch day, but we did take the dog up to the woodlot and up and down the mountain. I had to bring home a 4x4 to make legs for a platform to put beehives on, and it was too long for the roof rack on the Subaru and needed to be cut in half for transport, so I pulled out a bow saw someone had given me a couple years ago and proceeded to find out that the blade was dull. I then pulled out my vintage Homelite Super XL (originally a UHaul rental -“PROPERTY OF UHAUL” is cast into the metal body). I think it was started last in June. . . Three pulls, nothing. Fourth pull (and a little ether (hey, I have carpal tunnel - gimme a break)) fires right up, make the cut, strap it to the roof, no problem.

So, after breakfast, I will dig a couple 3” depressions on the dirt and pour a little concrete for the legs to sit on, and put the stand together because nucs should be arriving in just a couple weeks.

I would really like to drop some trees this afternoon, but that all depends on what MrsKilroyJC has planned for the day.

I hope everyone has a wonderful, healthy, happy, productive, and blessed day!
