Made a lot of food for Christmas. Brought in more firewood and placed it the copper kettle we use for it. Got it a long time ago from an antique dealer and it holds enough for 24 hours of heavy burning.
Walked up to get the mail bundled up. Cody with his double coat was ok. He is getting used to the cold. Zion is getting jackets to keep warm. The overflow from the pond is freezing up but still running.

Good (Sunday) morning and Merry Christmas to all. I hope that all of my North American Mates are warm and safe from that Winter howler that's being reported on my news. I, on the other hand, had an overnight Low of 12C and it's presently 26.8C, clear with a gentle breeze. It'll probably climb to 30C by 1300.

Midnight Christmas service (last night) was lovely, followed by a gathering in the Church hall for a wee dram of tawny port and rum-soaked Christmas cake. Home by 0030 and to bed by 0100.

Up by 0815... we're heading over to my neighbour's for Christmas lunch and quite a few libations.

Cell service is down in our area,covering several miles.

So much for Christmas Eve texting. . .

UPDATE: 8:54 PM service is back - just got a text from electric company about “powering down unnecessary electric items to prevent rotating blackouts the next 48 hours”.

It was fun while it lasted. . .

well some of us got to Christmas early, but for most of us Christmas Eve, may it stay warm with electric on for everyone.
