Coffee has finished brewing. 23° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 34° with partly cloudy skies. Sassy got her grooming. She likes going there for her grooming. Does not like me giving her a bath.
Did get all my last minute shopping done for Christmas.
Door lock was another fail. It is on it's way back to Amazon. This time I called Ring. First person I talked to was very good solving my problem. Ordered a different model of the same lock I have. It puts out a Z-wave signal.

Txdon, yes always seemed to freeze at least one time each winter. We stayed in McAllen. One year we got freezing rain. Another year lots of hail.

Everyone stay well and safe.

Good Morning All.

Good Morning,
The low this morning was 33F, presently 35 with sunny skys, forecast high of 44.

Did more cleaning and sorting in the work shop. Found the power cord for the CD player, and some CD's... more tunes to work by.

Better half due home today, finished up her honey do list yesterday. All easy stuff, although finishing up pressure washing of the second story was no fun when it is 42F out.

Chimney guy coming in 20 minutes to see what it is going to cost to properly install my wood stove.

Be safe out there.
If you are installing a high-efficiency stove, don’t forget that there is a 26% Federal tax deduction on both the stove AND the installation

20 going to 42. Weather folks still saying we may see a little snow Thursday, but it may disguise itself as sleet and freezing rain.

Buppies, hope you are better today, and safe travels. Just saw the AAA report on holiday travel...one of the worst days is Dec. 23, best days are 12/24, 12/25...always worst time is 2pm to 8pm...glad I'm an early riser.

Thomas, sounds like the price of throwing it away may be more than the price of buying it. I didn't know there were fees like that.

Ron, can't see your museum pic.

Decided to prep for the possible ice storm and give the generator a test run. It's stored where it is a bear to remove, but started on the first pull after the 2 choke pulls. I'm sure it helps that I only run it on LP. I checked my LP tank "inventory" and need to fill 2 empty tanks...their dates have expired, so I may have to do a swap instead of a refill.

Took a cruise through my forest, looking for dead trees and those otherwise needing to be cut down, such as a small one crowding under the canopy of a large oak. Found a few that volunteered to become firewood. I also have one large tree top that broke off one of the biggest oaks on the edge of the field from the heavy wet snow storm last year. I'll need to try to pull it down with the tractor, which will require some careful study.

Good morning!

God has given us another day to get it right (or at least not screw it up too badly).

Currently 33F. Going to do the last grocery run before Christmas Today. It is close enough to keep things fresh and far enough to get in front of the last-minute shoppers.

It stayed below freezing yesterday - the sun never came out long enough to warm up the front steps enough to add grit, but today is is supposed to get into the 40’s - and maybe even rain (which wasn’t supposed to happen until Thursday. Want to make God laugh? Tell Him you have made plans. . .

on the plus side, the new toilet went in with ZERO problems, which was a nice change of pace. Now to get rid of the sucker (since I don’t want to pay disposal fees at the Sanitation Center) I intend to start with a couple good whacks with a sledgehammer and then proceed to break it down into gravel, and hide it in the bottom of post holes for drainage.

Reduce/Reuse/Recycle, right?

the upstairs toilet got that treatment and went into the French Drain we installed up at our woodlot, albeit in larger pieces. I am keeping both tanks, as I have visions of an instantaneous dump shower sortakinda thingy to use with our sauna, since I don’t have a dunk tank (yet). They are now hiding under the woodshed, so MrsKilroyJC can’t complain about “keeping more junk” 🤣😂

yesterday’s convos about coffee inspired me to find the box in the shed and dig out my briki - but where is that superfine grinder? Grandma’s coffee grinder won’t go that fine, and I am NOT putting coffee beans in my flour mill!

have a wonderful healthy safe and blessed day, everyone!
