RNG, keep blowing the moisture this direction! You got a decent amount. By the way, have you tried any more robotic vacuums? We used to enjoy your unbiased opinions on the ones you tried! (LOL)
Today's rain seems to be coming from the southwest, Ted, so I'm not sure how much is gonna leak down your way. More is on the way for tomorrow, so I'll keep an eye on it and let you know if you'll get any of it.

I gave up on floor robots. The floors here are porcelin tiles, laminate with throw rugs. The transitions between the two floor types, and the throw rugs, are high enough that the robots would get stuck trying to cross them. And the Roombas would not cross black stripes in the carpets because they "thought" they were drop offs. That was a couple years ago, so maybe they've fixed those problems by now. But the robots also got stuck under chairs, or just refused to go into certain rooms. Far easier for me to just get out the sweeper, move some chairs and stools around, and just get it done. At least twice a year, or when houseguests are due, anyway.🤣

FWIW, CNET offered glowing reviews of a new Roborock robot mop/vacuum in my FB feed, but the Amazon reviews aren't that great. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Could you just fire up your oven or BBQ and cook the pizzas yourself? Or next time get one from one of those you-bake places?

Don't be surprised if you get a form letter response from Dominos. That's what I got from that lame place in Lompoc. Won't be going to any more of those outfits, either.

For food crumbs, a chihuahua works great (except for olives). Automatic.

panasonic used to make great vacuums. I believe they gave up due to China competition about 5 years ago.

My SIL loves her roomba type vacuum, but not sure which model they have.

Church was good.

Next week is Christmas pageant/play at church.

There is one med she says she can't do without, Gabapentin. I just saw a Sheryl Atkisson news report on Gabapentin. It has side effects, and some correlate it to opiates. Drs prescribe it for nerve damage/pain associated with shingles and diabetes. Proponents say there are almost no Rx for that type of pain.
.

I took it some for GBS. I found it did little to nothing for me so stopped taking it. I still have a huge bottle of it somewhere.

37F and sunny @ 14:30, that should be the high for the day. But it's reading a very toasty 75F on the thermostat here inside, as the sun is streaming through the windows on the south side of the house.

Low this morning was 18.3F ...

More fish room work yesterday, almost done topping off the tanks but need to draw some more water to finish it off.

Also got the skim coats of mud put on the patches in the dining room.

Agenda for the rest of today:

Get cleaned up and drag the razor across my face.

See if I can get the van fired up ... 🤞... (really need to replace those bad glow plugs)

If I can get it started, then trip to Menards to pick up a few items, take advantage of the last day of Black Friday Sale. Think I will place the order online to avoid having to walk all over the store picking out stuff.

Prices on 12-2 romex are just nuts ... can't say I'm impressed with the premium they are getting for shorter lengths either. May wait on that until the 11% rebates show back up.

Probably more work on fish room after I get back.

Drain sediment in the water heater.

Sand the mud.

It's supposed to be considerably warmer tomorrow (and no rain) ... I'll take advantage of that and move those two pallets of 2 x 4's inside the barn, as well as picking out some to bring over to the house to use on the utility room south wall in the basement.

On the vacuums, we had one similar to this when we lived in town, but in a different color (maroon and gray):

f99192a9cd4d64328e236a03a24f965f--best-canister-vacuum-vacuum-cleaners-310468945.jpg

House here has a VacuFlo whole house system which exhausts to outside and is general pretty nice ... as long as you don't suck anything up that will plug the lines (ask me how I know ...)

I believe we are either on the 2nd or 3rd power unit (in 50 years)

We also have a older Kirby that belonged to The Woman's Mother ... but I think it needs the belt that drives the beater bar replaced.

Hope everyone is having a good Sunday ... (y)

I think the Christmas gift of choice is going to be a new vacuum for many of you :) ... Thanks for that Drew - LOL

We have Domino's pizza nearby, but we never go there ... PANAGO (might be a Cdn franchise) is our choice. But what I really want is the CHICAGO Deep Dish pizza (yummers), it's been way too long since I was in Chicago for that.

Haven't got my Grinch Tree yet :) - should be fun

I'm taking it easy today - too many nose bleeds in past few days (winter). I broke my nose too many times over the years, I guess. Oh well, staying inside.

have a good day everyone

The problem with all these vacuums is that they spread fine dust throughout the house. Even HEPA filters can only do so much. That is why we always use central vacuum systems. Then the exhaust goes straight out doors.
Where does the air come from that replaces the air the vacuum takes out?

I think I will switch my boots to the Nick's that I had resoled earlier this year. They are comfortable and provide a lot of ankle support when walking out in the field. The prescription inserts will move over from the Redwings. I was wearing them daily for two years before resoling was needed.

I have vacuums. 3 Robots. 2 sharks and 1 iRobot. All 3 work good. Each does a difference section of house. Have a Shark stick type which I use on back porch. Have a Dyson that I use a couple times a year for major cleaning. 3 shop vacuums for shop, garage and barn. There a couple of canisters type hidden away in closets. They all work. But I do not like using the ones that require my energy.

Afternoon all, rainy trip to Long Island, NY, 2.5 hours. got to hangout at my brothers new house.
Friends Daughter's wedding was great, I have know my friend since kindergarten and know many of his relatives.
They had it in a big room on a rooftop in LongBeach, facing the ocean.
Breakfast with my Brother and SIL, Brothers new knee is working good, but he still has to take it easy, do PT and it hurts him, but he can walk with a cane and sometimes without.

Got to see some old friends at the wedding, a few I hadn't seen it probably 18 years.

We also use a Dyson Animal here if you want to see it Drew.
We also have a large Miele for big jobs, have had that one for 10 year +/-

We tried iroomba and were not happy.

Had whole house vacuum in last house, even with larger motor is still struggled to cover the long hallways.

View from my brothers back deck yesterday.

They are also good protection from those ankle bitting snakes!

I always took my pain pills so they would be most effective during PT. I also had a huge animal - EGORE- to work with me. The first time he bent my knee till I cried and after that I insisted I bend it myself when he took the flexibility measurement at the end of PT. He did not have to "help" me after the first time I improved each session and worked hard on off days so I would not need his assistance during the measurement "bend". (My replacement was a year ago next week)

My plantar fasciitis, on the sole of the same leg as knee replacement, is feeling better today, I just hope it heals before the cortisone wears off.

25°F and clear skies this morning, got up to 42° today. Wind finally subsided.

Got the new ceiling panels cut and fit today. I really hate doing that. Left a fine powder mess all over the studio just from handling during installation, so round two of cleaning. Hopefully, done with that. Although, still no sign of the culprit.

Got in a nice nap after that.

Went to town to pick up some stuff for The Wife, who's using the last of the turkey to make turkey pot pie. Yummy.

I grew up with Kirby vacuums. It's all my mother would buy. We had two of them, one upstairs and one downstairs. Built like tanks, and weighed about the same, I think. We have a couple of Dysons, an upright and a canister (really, a ball more than a canister). We also have three robots; one upstairs, one downstairs, and one in the sunroom. So, the Dysons don't get a whole lot of work anymore ... although, I was using the canister in the studio today. We have a couple of stick vacs as well, but I couldn't tell you which ones. I believe one may be a Shark, maybe. We haven't had good luck from any of the rechargeable sticks we've bought. The all seem to work great for about six months to a year, then one day they just don't. I think they're a waste of money, but The Wife likes the convenience. In fact, I can hear her running one upstairs in the kitchen right now (how's that for timing).

I haven't eaten a Domino's pizza in probably 30 years, Ted. Pretty much the same problem you had. They delivered a disgusting pizza, so I called and complained, and they sent another and picked up the first one. The second one was equally disgusting, so we sent it back with the same driver. Even he agreed it looked under-cooked. Called the manager and got a tepid-at-best response. Never ate their pizza again.

Good afternoon, all.

Good (Monday) morning. Overnight Low of 13.5C and it's presently 17.8. Overcast and calm, but the "Liars" are saying the wind will really get up this arvo. There was 3.5mm in the gauge at 0900.

After Church yesterday I did get to mow around the house + driveway.

I've got to attend that funeral in an hour. Not too sure what I'll do this arvo.

That's about it, take care all.

Good evening all. 39ºF for the start, windy, clear. Wind 14-27 mph, clear sky, and high temp was 52ºF. Bike ride to start day, wind got stronger before slowing down, saw 38ºF on GPS before warming occurred. 63.7 miles tired at end of ride. Lunch, nap and dinner. It never made it to 39 today. 32 was as warm as I saw on the weather station thing….

Rearranged things in the garage and rolled the 1952 BSA out for pictures. It is fully assembled to make sure everything fits. The oil tank was a real struggle, using the parts in the parts book didn’t exactly work. A couple of shorter spacers at the rear and it fits nice.

So here it is. I got to sit on it to see how things fit. Looking forward to the first ride.

I get kidded for having too many vehicles ... you have a whole vacuum store :)

It looks great. Looks ready to ride. Did you rebuild the engine? Brings back memories of the bikes that I had in my youth. My first BSA was a 1939 350 cc that I got when 15. That was before the telescope fork and no rear suspension. But I learned a lot about these bikes.
