Busy time for everyone it seems. Where did retirement go?
Daughters cabin arrived and went in place OK. Nothing in it except lighting and aircon. She is arranging beds etc. Her dog seems to get on OK with our ones so that is good news. Hers is a 2 year old Rottweiler. He plays well with our Goldador.

Today I have re-plumbed under the laundry tub. New S bend etc. The plumber that did it originally used cheap fittings that leaked all the time. Kept jumping the threads.
Then I re-plumbed under the back laundry tub which was leaking where the drain pipe went through the cement. All good now but a helluva job to fix.

Next job was preparing for the huge rain bomb predicted. Some areas are expecting a months rain in a week. Very sad for those who have already had homes inundated twice already this year due to abnormal rainfalls.
I have a sump to catch excess water but the pump burned out a few years ago so I bought a new pump and installed that temporarily. That removes excess water from the front lawn by the porch. I had to do it as our pooch loves playing in the water and making a mud pie of himself. Hopefully this will work.
Hope Roy has got over his bug and everyone else is healthy.
Orthopaedics tomorrow to recheck my fingers and thumbs. Could be a 3 hour visit so they say. :(
Lesleys operation about the 19th of the month. Very worrying.

Starlink is working perfectly. No problems. I have mounted the antenna on my roof now. Cancelled the other satellite service today. Starlink gave me 161 MBps the other day when I checked. Others here can't even come close to that. Looks like it is a keeper.

Forgot to mention I am going to be a grandad ... again.

Good evening all. 52ºF for the start, mostly clear sky, light breeze. Light wind, sky stayed mostly clear, and high temp was 84ºF. Taking SIL to surgery to start day, had breakfast and bought bottle of Windex and paper towels (and a Trains magazine) to clean SUV windows while waiting. Got to read magazine for about 20 minutes before getting text to pick him up. Surgey was successful, he fell asleep on way home. Got to play with dogs for a minute, Scooter really getting white in the face, His tan color about 1/4 white! Bike ride next, then lunch and mow back yard, no a lot of golfers, but found 5 balls. 45F and clear @ 23:00, heading down to a low of 41F but I bet we beat it. Calling for a high of 74F with sunny skies tomorrow.

Woman made successful pick up of Menards order. Only issue was that I assumed that the trailer coupler I had used on the log splitter took a 2" ball. Nope, it's 1 7/8" ...

She also brought back coney dogs from DQ.

Got new B and D battery put on charger, unpacked the tools.

Checked live trap, nothing in trap but Woman later said someone had been nibbling on the bait.

Knocked apart the precut 2 x 4 joists from the original plan and palletized those.

Got wooden scaffold disassembled, used new B and D impact driver, worked fine.

After She watered her plants The Woman worked over at the barn doing more debris clean up.

I worked on cleaning up screener area, also did a little grading.

After that, I consolidated 3 doors that were on 2 different pallets.

Gathered up hidden hangers for the gutters, screws for the gutter covers, and the rest of the joist hangers and took those over to the barn.

Grabbed a floor jack, Craftsman tow-behind spreader, and bag of trash while I was over there and took the trash up to the can at the road, dropped floor jack and spreader off up at the shop on way back.

Got end of 100' hose pulled around to the back from the west side of the house, checked hopper feeder while I was over there, will need to be refilled tomorrow.

Then I started pulling nails on a pallet of 2 x 4's from the shed I took down for the neighbor. Woman came over to help. Still have a few more to do on that (on yet another pallet), plus strip the plywood off a stud wall and disassemble that. It will all get used interior walls, work benches, shelves, etc. Good amount of useful lumber.

Knocked off a little before dark, we were both getting tired.

Made the run into Harbor Freight to grab an 1 7/8 ball before they closed @ 20:00, picked up dinner at one of the local pizza shops on the way back.

Going to grab a shower and hit the rack.

The clock on the Kubota now has 2,495 hours and change on it. 80 hours since repairs, seems to be fine ... 🤞

Hope everyone had a great Tuesday ... (y)

Good morning !

Last few days mornings were a kind of chill - 5 - 8 ºC. And rather windy.
As I went out instantly got feeling that winter is coming <tm>
Air is "thick", cold, lawn full with yellow/read leaves ... That autumn feeling ...

Anyway - pizza party with builders went great.
Today is coming team with excavators, to fill fundament with clean sand

Good morning, up way too early coughing my brains out, but this is a good thing. Getting all the crud in my lungs up and out.

Low temp 49 and a high if 68°F. No wind. Partly cloudy.

Today will be a good day to clean out the truck and by this time Thursday morning I should be picking up my wagons. 3.5 hours later I will be in the yard. I hope.
If I can land in the yard at 6 or so A.M., then maybe I will have a parking spot I can back into without too much fuss. None of our parking spots are pull through, so us train drivers get to hone our skills backing 2 8 foot wide trailers 35' long into a 10' wide hole and park them straight. It is a challenge, but fun at the same time.

I'm going back to bed to see if I can score another couple of hours sack time before I get up for the day.

Stay safe all
