have my turnips prepared for cutting up later, will coat them in olive oil, salt and pepper and bake them.
They are usually pretty tasteless but I'm told baking/broiling them brings out the sweetness.

wonderful sweet peppers he brought me, giving a few to my neighbor, I can't eat this many that quickly.

Fall is in the air. Fired up the old Jutul stove inside after chimney cleaning. The soot was very loose and easy to vacuum out. Sign of good fire wood. The Magic Mountain Chimney sweeps did a good job. They used a drone to check the chimney after completing the sweep. We roll up news papers in a knot and use them for starting. Start a corner of a snip of news paper on fire and it is going.

The area on this side of the house we use in the middle of the day when the sun is baking on the balconies on the other side and with ceiling fans makes it comfortable even when hot. That is where we grill on the Webers and monitor the smoker when smoking brisket or pork butts

53°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 86° today. It's 84° now, so probably not.

Wife took the foster dog for a meet-n-greet event this morning, so I hopped in my car and drove to a record store run by a friend in South St. Louis County. Spent more time standing around chatting with him than actually looking at CDs. The new album from Talas was released yesterday, one of my favorite bands from the '80s, who got back together and recorded the album they never finished back in 1985 (the album title is "1985"). He was supposed to be getting it, but his distributor didn't ship it. So, I browsed a bit and found a couple other discs to follow me home. No record stores anywhere near me anymore. I really miss browsing in person.

Mike, a couple friends of mine from school were at the Marine Museum yesterday as well. One was there with his son, who's in the Corp, and the other is a retired Master Gunnery Sergeant who lives near there.

Looks painful, Buppies. Speedy recovery.

Good afternoon, gents.

electrical mystery trying to help my neighbor with.
She has been in house across street for 53 years with strip electric heat. She turned it on two days ago and the walls and pictures above all the heaters in the house were blackened.
Not just some, all. She won't turn her heat back on, scared of another huge mess. I loaned her an electric radiator heater to get her through.

what could possibly cause a strip heater to pollute like this? Clean elements, they were checked, makes no sense. Her son is an electrician and he can't figure it out.
