48° right now...high in the low 60's

Brought all the gear I need to work from home...and, I must admit....not feeling well at all. I'll see what I can do...but what I want to do is go back to bed...

This looks tasty:

60 outside this AM, heading to upper 70's.

Looks like grass cutting is the order of the day.

Yesterday our run in for the horses finally got a new roof. Managed to recover/save all the remaining metal panels about 20X24 worth and will reuse for the wife's tractor shed one day. Guys re-framed the roof, re-sheeted and are waiting on the metal. The barn starts next week.

I'll have to go get pics this AM. They put in a full 12 hours of work. Only took me a week when I did it. Slackers.

Hoping for a swift recover for you Roy.

Hope all others ailing are on the mend. Be safe in what you do today.

Just realized, still dark out....I liked the longer days better.

Roy hope you get over the covid quickly. Mom was a bit luckier. A cousin visited her and the 2 days later she called mom and said she had covid. Mom never felt bad but when I went to visit last week I tested her (6 days after contact) and she tested negative, dodges the bullet again. Remember last time they sent her to the Covid Ward of another hospital even after she tested negative because she went in the middle of the big scare and had symptoms only. She never tested positive on multiple test.

Mostly the pumpkin info was timely, one tractor wagon stop is at the pumpkin patch and I relayed the interesting info to the team working the pumpkin patch. They had heard of applesauce and bananas as a substitute but not pumpkin.

EDIT: Mostly, I went to look at the recipes on the pumpkin swap page and they still have oil and eggs. They are not doing their own substitution by changing the recipes. Very disappointed.

Good morning!
Fall is in the air! We are in the 50's!
59˚F heading to 90 with sunny skies.

m7040, your gizzmo looks like a panic button for the end of the world times. "don't press here" type of thingy.

Just got back from checking the fresh smell of lumber in the back. Ahhhhh..........what a relief. Only need to move the horses around.

Good Morning
It’s 60 and won’t make it to 75 under clear skies and a nice breeze today.
Yesterday was a beautiful day as well. Started in the shop working on a speaker, got dados cut and glued up.

I was just tightening the clamps when DIL brought my grandson to help me mow. We got the tractor hooked up to the mower and got the bulk of it done by early afternoon.
IMG_9676.jpg

We stopped for lunch, they guys from the farm with the disc golf came over as well as another neighbor and we grilled burgers and reheated pulled pork. After lunch grandson visited with his “Nana” before going for a Carryall ride home for his nap.
Got home and went out on the Lazer to finish up the mowing. There must have been some strong winds when the cold front came through Tuesday night, as I found a tree down across a path while I was mowing. So I unhooked the mower, mounted the loader, swapped the bucket for the grapple and was able to grab the tree pull it out of the hedgerow, break it in half so it would fit down the path and take it to the brush pile.

Next up was to finish mowing the path, and then throw a string trimmer and blower in the Carryall to clean up along the lane and along the road and mailbox.

Made a nice chicken wrap for dinner and was all ready for the Zoom airport authority meeting.

All in all a fun and productive day, mixing shop and tractor time with grandson time, and a bit of social interaction.

A hard act to follow today. About to have my bowl of special K and head over to the shop to make some progress on the speaker, then the next planned activity is to take the trash and recycling down the lane to the street.

Good morning. Cooler weather inspires work outdoors. Been cleaning up fall leaves and trimming a few branches off. Eucalyptus and Pepper trees grow like weeds here.
Graded the road last week and noticed I was sitting side-saddle for most of the 2 hour chore. Really miss my Talon swivel seat in the old Terex so I went hunting last night. Not wanting to shell out $1k plus on a fancy seat I ended up buying a tractor seat swivel for $89 at Northern. It will add 1.5 inches to the seat height so I will see how this plays out. I'll post this mod when it happens. Have a great day!

That balancer is quite the tool. I bought one recently and I really like it. All of my blades were way out of balance after using a cheap cone type for years.

57°F and light fog this morning, going up to 86° today.

Stopped for gas on the way to work this morning, and watched a lady walk out of the convenience store, with her cup of coffee, wearing a long winter coat and a knit hat.
No need to rush into that already.

Good morning, gents.

Good morning to all! Low of 49°. Don, I agree.... I think fall has started. But, our temps will be higher this weekend, so summer is attempting to hold on. Back up into the mid / upper 80's. No more rain chances until next Tuesday. We did get a 1/2" of rain Tuesday night / early Wednesday morning.

Roy, we are sending well wishes your way. Hope you recover quickly.

Drew, those screens really improve the ambiance. Now, oce those walls get painted.... you'll actually have a "man cave". Hope the DR grader works well.

Paul (PopG), nice job on the lawn. And on the speaker. Have you been turning away orders? Hope you didn't have to.

Thomas, nice that you had an early day (for a change).

Paul, we laugh at some people out here.... the temp drops into the 70's and they are bundled up like it's 35°. I guess they don't venture outside if it's below 50°.....🥶

Wag, have fun on the paranormal investigation..... just don't pizz anyone off! 😵😵‍💫

Scootr, link to the swivel base? hope it works well for your setup.

Didn't do much yesterday, just piddling. The knee was acting up, the gut was acting up, the back was complaining..... just not a good day.

Slept pretty good last night, so maybe a better day today! A few small projects on tap for today. Just going to take it slow.

Everyone have a great day!

Hang in there gang, Friday’s comin’

65F and sunny @ 11:30, heading up to a high of around 77F for the day.

Ten Day now showing a decent chance of rain on this coming Monday (but still slightly less than 50%), otherwise less than a 25% chance throughout the period.

Got the remainder of the clay rescreened yesterday, pile on the left is the clean material, pile towards the right is mostly rocks, roots, and gravel:

Woman worked most of the day on weeding and mulching the corner of the second circle which she got done (I think)

After I finished screening I got both pallets of mulch unloaded from the van, moved the larger one over by the northwest planting bed and the smaller one with the torn bags up by the maple tree behind the shop to finish that one up.

Then I moved the aluminum gutters from the house and old steel HVAC ducting up to the scrap piles by the shop to stage it.

After that I started mowing the front lawn, got that about 95% done before it got dark, just a little to finish up today. Of course I still have to mow down here around the house which I may get to today.

Had hot wings for dinner from the local pizza joint along with a large tossed salad with lots of tomato in it from the garden. Very tasty.

Need to call the local place today and get a price on a roll of geo-tex for the approach to the pole barn.

Depending on how dry it is over there, may start cleaning up the weeds and leaves over behind the pole barn and checking the slopes on the drain pipes before covering them.

Probably a trip down to Menards later this evening to pick up an order which I placed yesterday which is ready.

One more week of summer to go ... 😍

Hope everyone has a great day ... (y)

spent the morning looking at zturns for church.
We spent 9500 on an Exmark 13 years ago and it's time to replace.
Now same mower is $13,000. Exmark actually a little more, Kubota is very aggressive here on pricing, surprised at that,
but ultimately our caretaker asked for something that had a better ride.
That's easy, only the Ferris has the suspension like this. Also 13k with Kawa EFI

fun morning, both salespeople knew their stuff, both said deliveries were picking up but still way down, tractors come in
but no backhoes or loaders for them. New L6060 Kubota like Popgadget's on lot, that surprised me. Bet that sells for full list.

69°F and no rain

Somehow yesterday kinda eeked away in the productivity department, no holes drilled. But the birthday celebration was a great success. I ended up doing slow cooked baby back ribs that were fall off the bone good. Guess they accounted for 6 hours of my lost time. And it was easier to just do other things close to grill. Oh well, today

H&F with friends this afternoon, at their house.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
