Margeaux...

I never put it together until today...

When we adopted Margeaux, we expected a Lickey Lickey puppy
That's not what we got...

Margeaux is (per her DNA report) is 82% Great Pyrenees...a very serious guard dog...very protective
If you read about Great Pyrenees, you'll see that they are very independent and very protective
She normally stays in my wife's bedroom, but since my wife is in Florida visiting her daughter, Margeaux has been staying in my room
There's a little time being lovey lovey , but after that, she's at the foot of the bed and definitely guarding me
I'd rather a lovey dovey pup, but I have to respect Margeaux for what she is...a very protective, but not so very lickey lickey pup
And, we love her to pieces for what she is (even though her house breaking does suck...)

Sounds like a bit different than Bella

Pleased with my new glasses so far. Good trip to town. Walmart had pool shoes on clearance for $5. Wish I’d paid attention to the clearance part asI would have gotten a spare pair. These are my preferred footwear for working on metal roof, especially if wet.

Otherwise not getting much done as if I venture out wx starts spitting. Reluctant to get tractor out, hooked up and ready to power wash only to get rained out (forecast). Good chance the rest of day may be devoted to energy conservation.

Drew, I remember when I was young going with my Grandmother to visit my Great Uncle. They served pheasant. I remember the bbs but I liked it anyway. I thing Aunt Helen hated cleaning birds. I think of the relatives I have who I wish I knew better.

Roy, As we get older we have to resort to longer pipes to turn our wrenches.:D

They don’t use hot mix asphalt because the nearest plant is too far away.

Tar and gravel, they just did a road near me. Poor mans asphalt but does a good job.

I have a new pair of hearing aids on order. The hearing test at Costco showed hearing did not improve or get worse. That annoying little voice in my current hearing aids telling me repeatedly that "compilot is on, compilot is off, compilot is on" etc... will be gone in a week.
.

My son’s report from Costco not so good. More loss on one side. Today Vanderbilt medical agreed with Costco. He might need cochlear implant on one side.

Got a shower and then my wife calls out in pain...her back/hip has been bothering her for a couple of months, and her doctor looked it over, but yesterday it was acute, and she couldn't walk without me assisting...took her to the ortho emergency-type clinic...after x-rays and examination, set her up with an appointment with a back specialist, some PT, and some prescriptions..

Prayers for wife.

Got my 50A wall plug from Amazon today. Don’t see a UL listing. Not sure about it. Definitely won’t by a Sq D breaker from Amazon, they look fake in the picture.

Son mowed around the house. Need to put grapple on tractor and pick up some wood from tree that caused power outage. They left big pieces in the ditch.

I ordered and got 3 Square D tandem QO 20's they were the real thing, they were expensive as my main panel is an older Sq D.
The QO2020CP was around $75 each, will the QOT2020CP for the newer panels is less then $25.

At my age I should know better than challenge God’s sense of humor. Within minutes of my last posting the clouds began to part, the sun starting to peak thru. So out I went. Got 4 panels power washed before the rain started. That’s in addition the the 4 yesterday. Have 52 PV panels. Of course now that I’m back inside the rain has taken a break.

My left side has always been worse than my right and the direction of sounds is aways off. I hope you son's hearing can be corrected.

I was trying to download the Apple Watch app for my hearing aids coming next week but couldn't find the right one. Three tech calls later I learned there is no watch app for the Philips hearing aids I'm getting. Disappointed because that is one of the reasons I bought that particular brand, And the Costco employee assured me it had the watch app. But I will have to make due by making adjustments on the hearing aids themselves or the phone app. I do not want to spend the $160 more for a remote. They change channels automatically so I maybe do not have to adjust them as often as my old ones, if at all. Another thing I found out is that they are serviceable for only 5 years. They have a rechargeable battery so I'll have to remember to get the batteries replaced at year 4.5 so I can at least keep them for 8-9 years. I hope the clarity is very good or I will return them after the trial period for a full refund. That is a good thing about Costco they give an extended trial period of 180 days, Texas law only requires 30 days.

Another 100˚ day . . . .

Thanks, maybe I’ll try one.
I did find a UL claim for the wall plug, so guess I’ll keep it. Gotta run to Lowe’s for about 6 ft of 6/3.

When it rains it pours.

Think I did it pulling the longest piece off the bank of the road.

This tree caused my outage.

Good (Saturday) morning. The overnight Low (@ 0230) was 0.5C. It's overcast and calm with a predicted sprinkle of rain plus increasing wind. Presently 10C.

The new horse is estimated to arrive around 1430 and I'll soon go out and set up a water trough in the neighbour's paddock. I just received a phone call from the 'Mad Horse Woman' that she is going to put a caravan on the paddock so that she can 'commune' with her new horse. 😄

That's about it, at the moment. Take care all.

Good almost afternoon.
It’s 80 with a high of 85, another sunny dry day here.

I’m pretty much back on my feet having survived the attack and the ensuing quarantine. Got all the mowing done, continued with fence repairs, replaced a batch of posts.
Yesterday’s project was a dolly for the post hole digger. Got some 5”casters from HF and rummaged through the scrap lumber.

Worked out real well after figuring out that I had to ratchet strap the drive unit into its saddle so it didn’t flop around.
The big design goal was to have it work wherever the drive was positioned on the frame. And it works. It’s all the way to one side in the pictures and quite stable.

Been slowly cleaning up, getting ready for Drew’s project. It’s been so dry that there is no mowing this week, but plenty of fence work.

Going to put a pot of meatballs on this afternoon, band rehearsal this evening. I missed a gig last weekend, but had a great sub to cover for me. I want to make the one next weekend for sure.

Nice simple job! I have my boxblade on a dolly.... I am always afraid that I'll knock it off and have a hard time picking it back up....

I've been thinking of making one for the PHD, keeping it all together and ready to go. Currently, I take it apart and hang everything on the wall.

At that rate, it will only take you 11 more days.....

Just think about doing all of the roofing screws..... it will make cleaning the solar panels easy peasy.....

Just thought of something.... do you have to replace the screws under the panels? ..... just added a whole different perspective......

Thomas, sorry to hear that you had to cancel your trip. He was quite the collector, everything in mint original condition. We just saw a show called "Central Florida Roadtrip" that showcased his museum. Sad for sure that no one is going to continue his legacy.

Maybe someone will.....
