a question for you electrical geniuses...

I know golf carts have a limiter for speed. I don't want to go fast, though I have friends that had to buy a new cart because they were embarrassed by little old ladies flying by them.
I'd like more climbing power. Can electric motors be "hopped up" even a little like car engines? If one were to increase amp draw by several amps, which may or may not be currently adjustable, and was willing to give up battery life to do so, how does one do that? Club Car precedent 48V, 6 batteries.
I guess I should search youtube videos for this, likely some motorhead has hopped up his golf cart by now.

I'm aware that more heat can be very destructive to electronics.
let's say I'm trying to overclock this chip a little.

maybe....higher rear end ratio, say like going from a 3.10 to a 4.11. Hmmm, does it even have that?
Drew I'm sure it can be done. Checkout John's electric ride. He's a forklift mechanic.

they are just very grown up golf carts....

fun video. Like a drill on steroids

if I can change gearing on this cart, assuming it's not direct drive, since I don't want higher speeds, seems
like a good solution with no fiddling with motor. With my bad neck, I can't handle a lot of sharp bounces so I'm not going fast anyway.
I need to be able to climb hills though. This cart is clearly not designed for that.

62° now highs in the mid 80’s cloudy this afternoon dew point 58°

Truck passed state inspection for another year.👍 Time to think about cost to fix rust or replace truck, certainly won’t be inexpensive either way.

Quick trip for some groceries this morning, take the rest of day as it comes.

Enjoy your day everyone
Stay safe and healthy

Finally getting some "normal" summer weather here. 80 in the late afternoons - 50 in the late night/early AM. AND it not raining EVERY day now. For a while there - I thought we had moved WEST of the Cascades.

70 outside this AM. Heading to just under 90. The humidity has been bad these past few days. I tolerate it well though, better than being cold.

Wagtail, you mentioned critters and when they see you....I find it interesting while mowing around my koi-less pond that I can get right up to the edge and observe turtles and frogs. However, if I attempt to walk up to it, they all go diving in the water feet before I get close.

More on critters, seems the fox pups are now roaming and hunting on their own...they leave their dropping most everywhere. I hear my neighbor working on his chicken enclosure like every other day. Lots of feathers and bones on my side of the woods. LOL.

Have not gotten back to the Milk House project, too much other stuff going on. Maybe this weekend I can get some electric strung and get a side refinished with vinyl. Looks like Sunday might be the day as Saturday is shaping up to be an all day rain event.

Hope all are on the mends, get and/or stay healthy. Be safe. Be safe in your travels too. TGIF.

maybe they associate the vibration of mower as something safe, having never eaten them before. Doesn't trigger fight or flight.
But Riptides you do. You are the mighty fisherman coming to eat them. Or maybe their version of a T-Rex. Clearly they fear us.

anything that creates shadows probably spooks them, like a predator flying above.

Good news Thomas.

Good morning! 77˚F heading to 102˚cloudless sky. Going to a celebration I bet NO ONE on TBN has ever been to. Whipper will have to go with us since her "Day Care" was unavailable at such short notice.

Drew my neighbor's golf cart has a turtle/rabbit switch on his golf cart and 2 extra batteries. I do know that some golf carts are able to go speed limit out here: 35mph. I have driven behind them with no need to pass. My Yamaha Drive golf cart could go up hills that my Club Car could not.

Don, thank you. I figured you'd be an expert here in golf cart land.
I need to chat with place where I bought it. Am quite sure they know how to "optimize" the cart.

good news on house water problem, with copper leaching out of pipes due to low PH water.
going to try low cost alternative, from Amazon, one of these filters in conjunction with existing sediment and taste/charcoal filters.
ordered a new housing for it, twice a long as ones already there, will fit in quite nicely on same wood back board. Now if I know someone with
a PEX (?) machine...

so I'm trying a 120 dollar solution first. Consumables may be an issue. Not a cheap filter, filter alone weighs 13 pounds. Calcite.
Let's see if the green goes away. If not, will up my game.

my understanding is that new filter goes in between sediment and taste filters, probably preserving the charcoal in the third filter.

mostly, is your birthday sneaking up? Happy Birthday!

Good Evening.
It’s 72 and has been a high overcast all day

We had alligators drop in for a visit this week. My wife greeted them, but so far I have avoided them. I’m hiding from the world, getting various chores done, but I’m working alone.
I pulled out and replaced some fence posts, I am extremely pleased with the hydraulic auger, especially being able to slide to either side to be able to see the auger past the hood and loader frame. A little bit of a learning curve using the down pressure and keeping the auger plumb, but I’ve got it figured out now.

These damned alligators have me trapped here, but I don’t want to take a chance on someone else getting bit. I’m also a bit skeptical of the home alligator locators. They found them for my wife, but none for me.

I’ll be back when there is more to report.
Hope the alligators stay away from you. I was skeptical of the test I got at the local clinic. Negative. But I had the same symptoms the others had....runny nose for 5 days and sore throat a couple of mornings.

57F clear sky low 80's for high.

Thomas, so good to hear you are getting well and back in the swing of things.

rs, what kind of critter was that?

RNG, hope you get the motorcycle maintenance up to date. I would be explaining to the Sheriff the situation and show them the Facebook posts your neighbor is posting. They should impose a cease and desist (or whatever they call it) at a minimum. Also a public apology would be in order if the Sheriffs proved to them who is in the wrong. Thou shalt not provide false witness.

Even though I have a million things to do, I am taking my Associate pastor and his son (along with my son) to go ice skating today in College Station. I'm off. Hopefully a good way to beat the heat.

We don't typically have rust problems on vehicles down here, unless they come from a coastal town driven on a sandy beach.

I need to shred my place. No rain. No hay.

Prayers for our team, the sick, our country and Ukraine/Russia war.

Good morning! Going to be another nice day, 62 or so. Great for working outside. Wife and daughter came up last night. Sea Doos are going in the water today, and the pontoon boat prolly some time this weekend. (Have to clean it up first.)

Since the county is now inspecting EVERY septic system, I have to (a) dig up and uncover the lids, and (b) trim off the leaching bed (long overdue - bad James!). Not looking forward to it.

It is so weird that the lake water is still too cool to swim comfortably this year. It is because the nights have been unusually cool, thus keeping the water temperature down on our bay. Bummer!

Have a nice day everyone!

What’s to inspect? Yep, another s&@t hole in the ground.

Congrats to whatever Don is celebrating.

Morning Buppies. Glad you enjoying the beach.

Up to 77° now, humidity has dropped from 99% to 87% since last time I looked. Ended up with .3” of rain the last couple days.

73°F and light rain this morning, going up to 95° today. More rain possible later this afternoon, then a sunny weekend in the mid-80s.

Great news, Thomas.

Good morning, gents.
