61° now high’s around 80° and mostly sunny today. Dew point is 57° it’s nice out 👍

Dropped off truck this morning for the annual state inspection and an oil change. Hope it passes inspection the rocker panels are a tad rusty but I don’t think it’s through yet 🤞

@Mostly - I took a look at the drought map for the whole country instead of just NH yikes you folks are beyond dry, when you sweat you better save it! Also a Happy birthday and I hope many more to come. (mine’s tomorrow)

May try to give the mower a little exercise today but that’s about it.

Enjoy your day everyone
Stay safe and healthy

Prayers for those in need, our country and peace around the world

We do Drew all green gone from sinks
wonderful
I really don't need soft water, just don't want a bath in dilute copper.
friend has high tech soft water system, feels very strange showering in their home because the soap lathers up so much
more, seems hard to wash it off. Very surprised how much lather is affected by water PH I guess.

I make my coffee every morning with water out of the kitchen squirter.
stomach distress and cramps. Hmmmmmmmmmm.

Happy Birthday NHBX.
I got quite an education at auto body place about older trucks. And not so old.
Was told my Ram was a rotter and I should sell it. One quarter had been done, I did the second, and the
third was talking to us. Loved the truck through.
I wonder if it is still worth it to get a truck undercoated today.
Pretty clear the industry has done a crummy job with rustproofing.
Nothing like a heavy application of NJ road salt on some questionably recycled Japanese steel in older Toyotas.
But GM, Ford and Ram, they all rot.
Unless someone really got them treated early on.

Where are the least damaged cars from if they have to sit outside? Say with a cover on.
Arizona? someplace dry? California?
sure not from around here; everything is suspect
I think staying far away from ocean is good idea. Salt by another name.

I bet Buppies gets his car washed as soon as he gets back from the beach.

73°F and RAIN this morning, going up to only 88° today. More rain heading our way later this morning. We'll take it.

We've been having some regular trouble with our ADT alarm system. It keeps giving an error to "Check Longrange Radio", which is its internal cell phone. It has been replaces three times by three different techs. The last guy suggested we may need to upgrade to a newer control panel. We've only had this one for about six years. The alarm for this error notice gets so obnoxious that we had to disconnect the whole system. Another tech was scheduled to come out yesterday between noon and 4pm. Wife started calling them when he didn't show. Last call was at 7:30, with the intent to just reschedule for Friday. Nope, no times available (this was the original date scheduled). So, she told them he still needed to come. He got there just after 8:30. We got a lot more info out of this guy. He noted that he's been repairing a lot of systems with this same error by adding a better antennae, noting he could just drop ours down inside the wall. It's just not getting a strong enough signal from the towers. He also noted that this started happening right about the time that everyone switched over to 5G. Interesting. He couldn't get anyone at tech support so late last night, so he's going to consult with them today about the best options and get back with us.

Happy Birthday, Mostly_.

Good morning, gents.

I saw that front yard fireworks video I posted on the news last night...on the big screen, it sure looks like during the commotion, the teenager drops a lighter into the box of fireworks behind the van...hope not the case.
Any word on the location and if there were any injuries? Who uploaded the YouTube, the owner or the security company - SimpliSafe.

They got drowned along the Louisiana boarder. But up in my area it's crisp and crunchy. We got about 10 drops of rain while out walking the dog the other night. And that's all we've seen in over a month.

.37” of rain, better than nothing, but no need for flood warnings.

We've been having some regular trouble with our ADT alarm system. It keeps giving an error to "Check Longrange Radio", which is its internal cell phone.
I got notices from ADT that they'd have to replace the cellular modem in my system, as the carriers were no longer supporting 3G. I used that, the ever increasing monthly fee, and their refusal to upgrade the system to something comparable to what they give away free to new customers, as an excuse to shop for a replacement. I ended up with a system from Abode, which I installed myself. It was easy to install, integrates with First Alert smoke detectors, and has live people to provide both tech support and 24x7x365 monitoring. But the real kicker for me is that it integrates seamlessly with Apple's Home app on my phone, so I have just one place to look when I want to see what's going on. Cost of the hardware was a bit less than ADT, and I was even able to lay down some conditions that had to be met before local law enforcement was called out for an alarm. There is a fee for monitoring, but it's only $110/year. The ADT plan was $480/year, and that didn't include any video camera monitoring. I wouldn't want to be a holder of ADT stock in this environment...

plumbing place handed me a water sample bottle and said go get water tested at a lab in Lancaster. Ok.

I'm sure they will find the water is hard and of course recommend more hardware than I want.

my plans for today have changed and might wash the car. Lot of summer bugs.

Never could get my Ring doorbell to work. Because I couldn't install app on phone versus my pc. Couldn't get it to come
up on pc. Another wasted bit of electronic junk.

And now my fancy all lithium jump starter air compressor do all won't turn on. Says 100 percent battery charge.
Giving it to a younger friend to diagnose. He already has two so doesn't want another. I went back to the old fashioned lead acid type.
maybe some kind of resettable fuse on new one. Even light doesn't come on ,yet battery says full.
Uh, no one home in there?

Good morning to all! Low was again at 60°, but the high is going up to 87°. Slight chance of a T-storm. Not a drop in 10 days now, even with storms passing close by......

Scaredy, extra prayers sent your way. Hope everything gets straightened out.

Doug, sorry to here that Leslie is still having mask problems and the daily trips are adding up.... hope they find a solution quickly.

Buppies, enjoy the new beach tent! ....and the time with the Mrs.

Thomas, go easy on the Doc / nurse.... they are only looking out for you.

Mostly, have a happy birthday, you won't win that battle....

Don, those temps are way too hot! Apparently, some of that heat is leaking out to here.....

RNG, have a safe trip, keep the rubber side down. Hope you get to see a launch!

Time to go take the string trimmer for a walk. Probably more multiple short walks with many breaks. I may just take small bites at a time. I don't want to over do it in the heat.

Need to figure out when to run some errands..... getting a bit low on some grocery staples. Might get them done first....

Everyone have a great day!

Drew, The rust free vehicles are from Cal., Nevada, Arizona, Utah, and NM.
I am not kidding, I have pieces of scrap metal sitting outside for years without any rust more than some rust dust on the surface.

My son picked up an early 70's Jeep pickup cab that was sitting outside for years in Arizona. Totally wide open, just the shell.... not one spot of rust! Only faded original paint.

You can install cameras now that you can talk through as well as monitor yourself with alerts set to come up on your phone when you arm the system. Plus free cloud storage up to a certain amount.

I purchased and installed some at my sons home when he was going through a heated custody battle with his baby momma..

He was able to show up to court with some pretty damning footage to help his case.

67°F and no rain.

Need to scrounge around for a hose bibb. Pretty sure I have one without having to go to town. The bad one is one that has the vacuum feature, leaks terribly.

Should start spending time with mower.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

80F and partly cloudy @ 12:15, heading up to a high of around 85F for the day. It sure looks pretty sunny out there to me.

Up late, so late start.

Woman reports She is seeing results on Japanese Beetles with the stuff She has sprayed with the neem oil solution. This is after I had to prod Her a bit: She kept saying "I don't think that stuff is doing anything" or "I don't think it is working"

To which I usually replied: "Well, you do have to actually spray it on the plants ..."

... so She finally started spraying it.

She also reports that the Orienpet lily blooms are still there and that She saw the groundhog out back this morning during her rounds.

Agenda items for the day:

Refill hopper and one suet feeder first thing.

Lawn is overdue for mowing, so that's on the list for today. Probably do down here around garden first then mix up some glyphosate and spray the area to be enlarged for the garden to kill off the grass and weeds. Then mow the rest of the lawn.

After that I'll work on getting those two larger cages for the tomato plants built, which mostly just involves bending and folding the ends to lock them together.

If I get that done, the largest tomato plant out back will its cage replaced with a larger one, which will free up the smaller cage around it now to use on another pepper plant.

If there's still time left I'll go up and get another dump cart load of screened soil and fill in the area at the end of the garden bed and maybe get another tomato plant planted.

Best Birthday Wishes to MG !

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... (y)

Good Morning All,

Happy Birthday Mostly

BEF - good tent, Canadian Tire maybe ?

riptides - it's a maintenance day here also.

I have an open day today - still trying to unclog the tenants kitchen sink piping upstairs. 10 days ago started with plunger, drano, drain snake, a friend then replaced the piping under the sink for me (and put his back out), now I borrowed a powered drum drain auger and will attack from kitchen, and then perhaps from the lower end in our furnace room. it will probably be dog hair, and sand (from sink washes), grease and food particles. Failing this effort with the powered machine, I will need to call in my plumber ($$$) ... we've been here 21 yrs, these tenants have had multiple maintenance calls to me in the past 2 yrs (ignoring my directions). I can't blame them entirely as sometimes things just happen. I hope today's effort will work. I'm getting tired of charity rent. I think my morning coffee needs kahlua ... psyching myself up first. :) Wish me well. This is not my idea of fun.

RNG - is your neighbour jerk a city-boy ? All the best. Safe travels. I love Monterey Bay, have been to that area and the Aquarium probably 4-5 times. Numerous trips to California between '85 - '95 ... yes, some motivation to see a certain gal, and some other friends.
