Good (Monday) morning. Clear sky and an overnight low of -1.0C = frost this morning. With the sun up it's warmed to 10.4C at the moment. It may reach 13C with a gentle breeze.

The only 'plan' for today is this evening at the RSL (Returned Service League) for 'drinks & nibbles' with the Premier (of Tasmania) between 1730-1830. There'll be a few more pollies in attendance.

That's about it... take care all!

74F and partly cloudy @ 21:15, headed down to a low of 59F in the overnight. High here today was 88.5F.

Did not get hopper feeder filled or chipmunk traps refilled/rebaited.

Most of the rain was south and east of us, we did get one brief (<5 minutes) shower that chased me in and then ended about the time I was pulling into the garage. Just barely enough to settle the dust.

I did get the first 2' (wide) x 4' (tall) chickenwire cage made. Took quite a while as it was the end of the roll which is always messed up, so lots of bending and straightening. Next one should go quicker.

Got it installed around the peach tree on the east side, which was what I was doing when the shower came through. That liberated a 2' tall cage for another tomato plant. Some weeding done around the peach tree on the west side. Both are badly in need of water which they will get tomorrow. Also need sprayed for Japanese Beetles.

Plants and seedlings were moved out of the garage first thing, then watered all plants out front.

Remainder of Yellow Crookneck and Zucchini moved around back, will probably plant those tomorrow. Would guess there are 15 - 20 of those (and I still have more seeds ... )

Some straightening up in the garage and out front.

Woman brought Chinese for dinner, should have enough for at least tomorrow as well.

Water Buffalo filled and ready to go for in the morning.

More pulled weeds from around back collected and put in the dump cart.

Gladiolus and ranunculus watered.

Plants and seedlings moved back inside garage.

Looking skyward to the ESE at sunset:

IMG_1798 copy.jpg

Now it's a time for a shower.

Tomorrow promises much nicer weather: mainly sunny with a high of 74F, with winds out of the NW @ 10 - 20 mph.

Hope everyone had a pleasant Sunday ... (y)

Good evening. Never made it above 60° today, heavy cloud cover, off and on light rain all day but only 1/4" total. Reminded me of being back east.

Didn't grease the tractor, plenty of time to do it at my leisure. Not a favorite job, so I have to make it as pleasurable as possible.

But, before I could even bring it up, the wifey said "why don't you bring in a plane and work on it". I almost had to ask her to repeat what she said.....
I went and got a little plane that has never been flown. A guy gave it to me about 15 years ago. He started it, but never completed it. He didn't even have a radio...???.

I think it's going to be a nice little 'park flyer', but I added a powerful motor for its size, so should be pretty acrobatic. I was starting to get a little frustrated trying to get my fat fingers into a small space to put the servos in.... I'm glad I started with those first, everything after that was easy.

33F2BED7-017C-4BB4-844A-C4C48DBAC0D0.jpegThe start.....

CE287BF0-1E05-49EA-A052-20BCB53736BB.jpegAnd the finish....

Radio installed and adjusted, ready for a first flight. Now I just need the weather to cooperate.

   / Good morning!!!! #152,266
Our current temp at 20:00 is 54°, almost as low as last night. Supposed to go down to 50° tonight. 75% chance of more showers....

Drew, nice surroundings around the cabin. The new house looks like some fabulous accommodations.

RS --- The energizer gardener --- I read that you put the weeds in the compost pile... doesn't that create an issue from the weed seeds? What else do you put in the pile? I am interested in hearing your process.

Wifey made some blueberry filled croissants ..... time to go enjoy them...

Everyone have a good night!

Good evening 101˚ at 6pm, 100˚ at 7:30pm, 90˚at 9pm. Looking for rain tomorrow evening and a temp range of 75˚ to 93˚.

I figured out the The NYT Wordle on the first try today but I had just the opposite luck with cards, lost all games - a first, I usually win at least one on a bad day.
Repaired leak in irrigation system in Garden and gave it an extra soaking, okra is 8" high now.

Good evening all. 71ºF for the start, overcast sky, light breeze. Light wind, Sky clear some during late morning, and high temp was 93ºF, HI 101ºF. Chapel to start, then made pancakes for breakfast, then went into putter mode. Fixed rear brake on Peugeot, the washed bikes and set up Peugeot as main ride again. Did get nap in.

Paul glad you got an energy conservation day. Hope evaluation goes well for student. Hope you get some cooler weather for trimming.
Billy sorry you missed out on planet alignment. Sorry about the bindweed. That was a lot of pulling, and the roots are the worst of it. Working hard if mowing cools you off.

NHBX when temps near 100ºF, quit working out side about noon. Can't go all day in the heat and sunshine!.
PJ Used to be a private boat ramp there, easiest place on Mississippi to launch boat. The main channel on other side of Dardenne Island. Is that St Peters Park at 3.5 miles upstream?
Drew sorry cart does not have more get up and go. any idea what voltage the cart is? Looked at 72 Volt carts before we bout a gas cart, it has some serious climbing capability. Sounds like cart is a hit anyway. nice pics

Nice little plane LSTO. I like the elliptical wings. Good character. One of my favourite tools is a very large pair of tweezers. Great when butterfingers drop little screws inside the fuselage. :)
What gear are you using.
I have a Taranis X7 and a Spektrum DX6. I much prefer the Spektrum programming.

Not these kids, mad dash to see the snake
was about two feet long, some kind of black/rat snake.

great way to learn nature
Grampa is explaining to grandchildren how to be careful around snakes

71° and 91% humidity. Overcast sky. No close rain on MyRadar.

Had outdoor worship last night under our large tent, and had a thunderstorm at the beginning, then rain stopped during service, and we had hotdogs after.

Someone had done donuts with a vehicle in the church lawn last week, I went thru several days of video and found the vehicle Doesn’t show them in action, but only one way to enter and leave the property. Ironically the camera I just fixed and put back up Wednesday.

Not sure what I’ll get into today.

   / Good morning!!!! #152,278
70 and cloudy...rain promised by 2pm, maybe a lot. Then nice later in the evening.

Got some tractor and chainsaw time yesterday. A large branch cracked and broke off our paulownia tree...after blooming, they get large, heavy seed pods, and this year was a bumper crop. Pruning it was on my list for Saturday, but I spent all my time on the bindweed. So, of course it breaks just as I'm finishing up. This is the same tree where the bee swarm nested last summer. Yesterday, only saw one "bee" - a European hornet.

Also mowed a bit, and tilled and planted two food plots with soybeans and sorghum, and buckwheat.

LS, how was that blueberry croissant?

   / Good morning!!!! #152,280
58°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 82°. We are getting a respite from the heat wave for the next couple of days, then returning to the 90s on Wednesday.

Got a whole lot of nothing done yesterday, except laundry.

We got some bad news about Evey, the oldest Border Collie, yesterday. She's been having some health issues for a little while now. Vet finally referred her for an MRI, which she had yesterday. They found a golfball-size tumor on her liver, and said at her age surgery is not advised. Wife took this pretty hard. One of those eventualities that you always know is there, but still don't like to hear. She's been getting weaker over the last few months, but still gets up and gets around OK, at least for now.

Mostly_, it's called 370 Lakeside Park, and is at the Truman Rd exit off I-370. Looks like that is indeed St. Peters there. They reportedly dug an access channel from the park to the creek, but I've not read good things about the arrangements there from other Facebook kayak group members. Guess we'll find out when we go back. Judging by the current forecast, though, that probably won't be next weekend.

Wngsprd, I have a 12-string electric guitar with a pawlownia body. It's an incredibly light-weight wood, and wasn't the best choice for this guitar, as the light weight of the body doesn't counter the extra weight of the larger headstock and 12 metal tuners at the other end. It has bad neck dive, and I can only really play it while sitting. Until reading just now, I didn't even know we had those trees here in The States.

Good morning, gents.
