Good luck Buppies.
David, beautiful work.
Nice job Kyle. I’m always amazed at what people can do with metal and the right tools.
Rip, Hope insurance comes they on that damage.
Wngsprd, nice pics. Glad you got a nice hike in.

My company rewarded us with a 25% reduction in what they contribute to our 401k.

Gotta get moving. Gotta sign more forms at financial place. 1st money transferred showed up.

Good Morning!!!! 51F @ 4:00AM. Rain this morning with thunderstorms developing for the afternoon. High near 60F. Winds SSE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 100%.
The hourly forecast sez we could end up with almost a half inch of rain today, and from the sounds of it hammering on the bedroom slider, that could well happen if it keeps up. But the 10-day sez today's moisture will be the last of it for the period. And with winds out of the southeast, not much chance of funneling any to New Mexico, Arizona, or Texas. Sorry guys...

Quite a hike, Billy. Congratulations on a complete recovery. I've had anxious moments trying to stay on a snow covered trail; do you carry a GPS unit with you on your hikes? Between the cabin and the trout, those fishermen must be having the time of their lives...

Lots of inexpensive solar powered fountains on Amazon, Drew. I bought one a long time ago, but have yet to put it in the bird bath. Maybe it's finally time?

Good luck with the insurance company, Mike. They probably don't like the material shortages and price hikes any more than we do, and hopefully won't try to take it out on you.

No one would ever guess there's a shipping container at the heart of the Studio, David. Beautiful job! Will you be adding screens to any of the windows to let in that wonderful tropical breeze?

That adapter plate looks amazing, Kyle. Can't even come close hand cranking handles. Nice job on the grill, too. That capability is something to look for in any future employment opportunity...

Oddly, the solar contractor is suing as an individual instead of a business, and that limits him to $5k in Small Claims. That hasn't stopped him from asking for more on the summons, though. But that behavior is very much at the heart of the problems, as a true narcissist his world view seems to not have much to do with reality. If my efforts to get the case dismissed somehow fail, all I have to do is relate the chain of events that got us here, and show how the system is not "complete" as specified in the contract, with all the unaddressed issues as it stands now. Also learned that as plaintiff he has no right to appeal, but I as defendant do. And no lawyers are allowed on Small Claims Court, Chris. My paper shuffling, Ted, is more likely to be done electronically. But not all of it; I learned yesterday that my online bank records only go back three years, so I had to request a paper copy of the check I wrote for the initial deposit on the solar system. And most of the communication has been via phone and email/text messages; I wonder if I can submit e-copies, including digital recordings of voice mails? Nice to know I can count on your deep pockets for bail money, Drew. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I did get a chance to mess with the van again yesterday. Reseated the grounds I cleaned yesterday, and was then able to get it running again. And in the process spotted a bunch more that were held in place by a loose sheet metal screw, so I cleaned those up and hooked them into the same place everything else is grounded. No ground loops for me, thank you very much. But that didn't help, as it died again idling away in the driveway. This time, though, I could hear the fuel pump relay clicking when it happened, and the fuel pump itself stop buzzing. So the noid light test was a red herring and the injectors don't seem to be the problem. Time to trace wires and find out what makes that relay click.

Also spent just a little time on the tractor spreading out the burn pile ashes and digging out the remnants of the last batch of stumps. Brought up two more to start a new pile, and put a replacement sprocket on the electric chain saw. The first replacement was again badly grooved, this time after only a double handful of hours. Time to get some hard facing rod and see how well I can weld powdered metal.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

Morning all, was 37 and going up to 64, sun is out.
Water still running in trench, first time it has had water for more than 2 days, at 9 days of flow now....

Got thumb mounted on Backhoe and tested. Will need to trim some bolts to get it to stow properly, but the shim fits perfectly, cut and painted 1/4" stock.

While walking dog and talking to postman, a contingent of classic British cars rolled by, everything from jags to an older lotus.

RNG - hope the suit gets dismissed. If it goes in may want to counter sue so they know it's going to be painful for their ineptness and all your wasted time and energy

Sodamo - the guest quarters really came out perfect. Was fun watching it go together. I can't believe how much it has changed from it's humble beginnings

Buppies - hope the skin doc gives you a green light to proceed without more work needing to be done

Gale - no floating away - seems East coast is wet from NY down , but dry in Florida??

Rip-sorry about all the damage - hope insurance does step up and does the right thing by you

Stay safe and be well,

and a gratuitous Viburnum picture. The two bushes were in sad shape when I moved here. Wife wanted them removed. Now trimmed up and the wife really likes them.

Good Morning.
It’s 48 and going to 60, another dry day today. That will help to dry things up so that I can get some mowing done.

Yesterday followed my plan of not having one. Got the little plane finished up and took it out to do a little sightseeing. Tinkered a bit in the shop, visited grandson, and took my wife out to dinner.

I’m going to use yesterday’s plan as a template for today. But pretty much do what I feel like.

Kyle the adapter looks great, it’s mind boggling that it was done on a mill rather than a lathe. Do you design it in something like Solidworks and then to the CNC machine? The thought of doing that with a rotary table on my Bridgeport makes my head hurt.

RNG, I ordered 3 replacement sprockets for my Makita chainsaw after your experience, but haven’t needed them yet. But I don’t think that I have ever killed a pair of batteries in one outing, I’m thinking you use yours a lot more than me.

Good morning! 71˚F cloudy heading to the mid 80s.
Ran across this treacherous vine yesterday while clearing the trail. I have never see this thorny vine before in Texas and have failed at identifying it. Has anyone else run across this vine? The only leaves visible were from new growth shown in the second pic.

RNG, not a problem. I might stretch to two bucks if you promise to pay me back by next tuesday.
He who is best prepared and organized with good documentation usually wins in small claims.

Don, that looks familiar, from an invasive species show, has little backwards facing teeth like a shark to shred your skin. You're going to need a machete

Ken, nice thumb. Now you can finally get a grip...
Had to chuckle, those very low riding British cars on our local roads right now, weaving all around frantically trying to avoid the killer potholes.

56°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 77° today. Big warm up coming tomorrow and Saturday into the mid-80s.

The boy's truck showed up on the back of a flatbed tow truck yesterday evening. He said they pulled it into their shop to do one last check, and it wouldn't start to pull it back out. Fuel pump died. So, he spent the evening out in the rain trying to replace the pump (he seems to excel at doing things the hard way). I helped him lift the bed out of the way. Heavier than I expected. It was still sitting there this morning.

Got a little recording done for some guitar parts on a new project. That's always fun.

The new place looks great, David. Your work seems to have paid off handsomely.

Nice pics, wngsprd.

Hopefully the fish don't drown.
My trips last weekend to get new tires for the mowers took me east on IL-161 over the Kaskaskia River, which has overflowed it's banks from all the recent rains. The farmland around it in that area is flooded for miles, and it's deep. It looks like a giant lake.
