27° right now...high in the upper 50's today.

Got home late yesterday...meeting went way overtime, so no chance to check the hoses and fittings...will try again this afternoon. Odds are, I'll be working remotely tomorrow, so what isn't done today will be done tomorrow. Need to get the snow tires out of the truck's bed and stowed in the shed too.

Thanks for all the comments about my senior moment, guys! Had some real interesting ones posted!

Thankfully it is too warm (58F) to snow or we would have 14 foot of snow. Hopefully the fish don't drown.

Good morning all.
warmer in clouds today to 60.
Daylight is getting here earlier, yeah.

Headed to local plant nursery today to find a birdbath. Going to put it in back yard so I can see out this office window
and watch. I've had them before, including the heater in the winter. They tend to get dirty and finally crack or break from some abuse.
I really only need a wide mouth bowl or something fairly flat as I could put it on the picnic table.d
I have electric nearby so I suppose I could do the fountain routine, but I've had luck with just plain water.
Of course the local drainage ditch is filled with or contains water long enough the neighborhood has a built in drinking pond.

Might get the itch to do some more car waxing. It's pretty hard on my wrists even with that buffer so I have to do parts at a time.
That Butter Wax has a very nice carnauba smell and goes on super easily. I did use Meguiar's carnauba cleaner wax on the hood though, to see if a few of those tiny
stone chips would come off. Car is a charcoal blue and should stay cleaner once I get the mudflaps on.
I find car waxing very relaxing and with the car in the garage, the wax job lasts a long time.

I still think of that snazzy looking Mustang sitting in that Australian garage.
Local koalas will nod their head in appreciation, wonder if it's edible.

hope the morning goes well Buppies.
Hope the day goes well for everyone.

Fingers crossed for you Buppies.

43 outside this AM. Heading to mid 60's.

Too much stress these days. Ugh.

Managed to get all the windows replaced in the Milk House. Ended up tearing out the old ones down to the framing and redoing everything. Man, 100 years of weather does some hidden damage. Quite a mess. Next up is redo of electric and adding plumbing. This will mean tearing the siding off, since the inside is - concrete. Needs new siding anyway.

On the storm damage of a while ago, had a few contractors come in. No one can find the metal panels I used. So it is a complete loss on the run-in roof. In addition the old dairy barn is also considered a complete loss, as is another outbuildings roof. Total loss, just under 100k. When we really started looking at the damage, and path, we just kept finding more damage. Neighbor in back also reported to their insurance company. In addition to the buildings, well I have ample firewood for a long while. We shall see if the insurance company steps up. My biggest concern is the one run-in with half a roof missing. That one has animals under it at this time.

A major set back for us, at least the houses were not damaged.

Grass cutting season is officially on, have made two cuttings already, and today looks like number three.

Hope all are well, be safe.

43 going to 71. Nice.

RS, sorry to hear the sad news about your cat.

Kyle, beautiful job on that part.

Good luck at the Doc, Buppies.

Decided to hike up to Corbin Cabin, an old cabin built by a homesteader before the National Park was established. The only way to get there is a pretty good hike. I started at the Old Rag parking area where the grass was green, the dogwoods and wildflower were blooming, and leaves were opening on the trees in various shades of green. Ended up hiking high enough that everything looked like winter, the ground was covered in snow, and it was cold. It was like two completely different worlds.

Met two guys at this stream crossing just beginning a day of flyfishing. They were staying at the cabin...said the first day it snowed 7 inches and they fished anyway, surprised at how many trout they caught in the snow. I had planned to reach the cabin and return the way I came...but felt good and decided to make a longer loop, adding two other trails, which I had not researched. Ended up being the longest one day hike I've done in Shenandoah..only saw one other man during over 5 hours of hiking, but lots of turkey and coyote tracks in the snow, and flushed one turkey.
