hard to be hard on crime when jails are over capacity and sometime under federal mandates to
reduce population. Take everyone who has been arrested for smoking or selling small quantities of marijuana out of jail, the
majority of whom are black, and see how much space that frees up. (I think heroin/meth/crack is another issue, stuff is incredibly addicting, scourge of society)

Whole system backs up when the judge knows they are just feeding an expensive revolving door.
US incarcerates more people than any other country.
And I wonder if Louisiana is now a crime free zone...must be with all those arrests right?
Other countries do a better job with crime. We need to learn from them.
Preferably without chopping off hands...

fancy catalog from local nursery came in, they are big on custom outdoor kitchens and landscaping.
These kitchens were all stainless of course, and had multiple ovens and cook surfaces, refrigeration, trash compactors, twenty to thirty linear feet of counter, everything but a dishwasher.
Guess they figure dishes should wind up inside...
Down in Florida a partly covered back yard aka lanai is a big socializing deal where you need to duck inside for the inevitable shower.
Bet these huge outdoor kitchens sell well. If you've done your interior kitchen and bathrooms, and the pool is fine, well just add a twenty foot exterior kitchen.
I think trick would be to blend it in, use more natural surfaces so it's all not so shiny.

Ken has a nice outdoor pool setup, will see if I can get him in trouble here. Keep working Ken, we're spending your money.
Now David is another prospect. Sophie, what would you think about a nice thirty foot kitchen over there? So I can look out over the ocean
while barbecuing your fish just perfectly. 20 feet? Ok, a twenty footer will do...
I love to cook and cooking outdoors is usually fun. Particularly with fish which keeps the smell out of the house.
Meanwhile my low end Weber does just fine.

time to do my errands.

Check the crime rates in those low incarceration states.

63°F and .23 inches rain actually an orange glow in sky this morning. Hopefully not short lived.

Got a good clean up outside the studio (formerly caretaker unit) and power washed all the surrounding concrete. Open fires have become a big no no here so got the idea to set up my old Primo base as a burner and got the an overflowing wheel barrow of cutoffs burned. Quite a trick considering how wet they were. Basically once I had a good bad of coals just add enough that it wasn’t smothered. My rationale being we are allowed an open cook fire

Today will start the final clean up inside.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Well Drew, somewhat a partial approach I guess. Here at the main house the Weber is direct connect to the propane, the Primo is housed in a custom table, no plumbing though. The gas grill at the cottage has its own area on the covered lanai. The Studio is plumbed for a propane grill, small sink, and small counter area with electric on the covered lanai.

It sure is. There is an ongoing situation here in St. Louis with the current prosecuting attorney, who has long been accused of being soft on crime. She's been getting a lot of notoriety lately over the wrist slap she just got over improprieties in her failed case against former MO Governor Eric Greitens. One local radio station aired a story this morning that detailed a pattern of her improprieties. It's hard to imagine this woman still has a law license, much less a government job.

KMOX finds pattern of Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner's office withholding evidence in murder cases

The city of St. Louis has a reputation for violent crime. Little wonder why.

What I don’t understand is why? Why are they so soft on crime.

I’m not opposed to some hands going. I’m for harsher sentences. Society is failing when there are no consequences.
