I've heard that story before, Kyle. I kept the last screw I dug out of a motorcycle tire, and it rides along with me as a talisman against future punctures. It's been working more than fifteen years now. Hope I didn't just jinx myself.

I ran into the gold ring scam a couple months ago in the grocery store parking lot, Bird. Hard to believe people are still falling for stuff like that.
I felt a bit achy and tired yesterday, so put off working with the chainsaw. I did play around with the spreadsheet for the driveway, and figured there's enough room to reduce the gradient to 10%. But I estimate we'll have to move some 500 cubic yards of dirt and rock to do it. So it looks like this job will be done after we've made our best effort, or spent enough money to hurt.
A few weeks ago I got a reply to my call for help on the van no-start problem, suggesting I remove and clean the crank position sensor. So yesterday I watched a YouTube video that showed me where it was, and one bolt later it was out. The end was dirty, but with a pattern, and it may have been metal dust sticking to it which would cause it to read wrong. Put it back in and the engine started much quicker than I've ever seen before, so maybe that was the problem. But it seems too simple to be it. So I think today I'll pull it back out and watch some continuity tests on the meter while I wiggle wires and look for melted or damaged insulation. Another suggestion was a bad coil, so I got one of those on the way to carry as a spare, too.
The tires I ordered Wednesday showed up yesterday. That's some quick service, but they probably drop shipped from someplace very close. Yep, UPS tracking sez it came from Sparks, Nevada, just over the hill.
