Doug, your country's basic accent is one of the best.
Home to Crocodile DundeeLand with 14 attractions including knife throwing and two alligator ponds. ;)
Though everyone seems to want to attract the tourists.
Some of your harbors are sure pretty.
Wish you were closer.
Australia has been a constant friend to the US. Shed blood with us in a few wars.
Similar size countries.
Australia has never been invaded, if you don't count the British invading the aborigines.

62 degrees only going down to 50 tonight in rain and high winds.
No snow left tomorrow I bet.
a taste of Spring
I'm sure it won't last long.
going to be some bird feeders flying around tonight

time for an apple and the end of a sci fi novel where the aliens
and humans find true love. The aliens are more primitive hunter gatherers and mostly eat meat, thankfully not human,
raw or cooked, very little veggies. Don you would not like this place...
Meat and more meat. No wonder those cave men didn't last long.
not to mention those big ***** cats with the two foot long fangs.

been a long day, eyes are tired from looking at spreadsheets, my pillow has been earned.

Not invaded as such but lets not forget the Japanese bombing of Darwin. Also Japanese midget submarines made their way into Sydney Harbour.

On my inspection sticker renewal notice came with the two step web site. I entered my license plate number and the last 4 of VIN and all of the info came up as was on the renewal notice. Also was $1 less by doing it on-line. It might be county specific.
I had the amount less $2 taken out by my county VEHRES and then the $2 state processing fee taken out as TX.GOV*SERVICEFEE-DIR

We have a similar website for renewals. The issue is the assessment. So the first vehicle i assess and just swing by the tag office. I do the second vehicle online when its due.

Got to 71 today, breezy and sunny, felt like spring. 62 in the morning, 40 by sunset. Very windy over the next couple days. Gusts over 40.
Finally used the first tank of fuel in the Jeep. 23.6 in combined driving, the Ram got 12.9 in similar driving. Diesel is 30c more per gallon, I more than make that up in just a few miles.
I had a garage door opener that wouldn’t program correctly, turns out the up stop limit had a tiny bit too much travel. Now I’ve got to lube the drives, rollers and hinges on all the doors.
Had one car club meeting last night, the other club is next week, less than two months until the first cruise in.

Left work at noon today. Looked out the door at 11:45 and saw that cars in the parking lot were already covered with ice and sleet. Drive out of the city was a little rough, but once I got about 10 miles into Illinois, the temp was still above freezing, so it was just rain. It was just starting to change over to sleet and freezing rain as I pulled into the driveway. We ended up getting a layer of ice and sleet, but most of the snow missed us to the north. We got just a dusting.

Bird, I would call your local DMV office and explain to them what you experienced on that website. Having to enter all the information they should already have ... something seems very wrong there.

I recorded an album and played for awhile back in the late '90s with a drummer who was originally from Australia. Worked with him at a day job for about 10 years, which was how we met, and played together for about a year. Great guy. He'd been in the US long enough that his accent had softened considerably. His brother, though, not so much. Lots of fun stories about life in OZ from both of them, not to mention the vocabulary differences between them, us, and Britain.

Once of the things I love most about the internet is all the things I learn from people all over the world that I would not otherwise know even exists, especially language. This internet thing has potential. Just wish it was used more for good than evil.

I see on the weatherunderground, that for a short while, it is actually colder here than in Vermont.....40F and blowing 35mph out of the north.
Been busy with work, kids, sports, homework, etc. Will have to catch up tomorrow on my day off.

Have a lunch date tomorrow with my beautiful wifey.

When I renew both my vehicles I do it online for two years at a time. The Dodge expires this year and the Jeep next year. No smog test, no safety, just shell out your hard earned scheckles.

Eric, it looks like you are in for about 10 days of windy weather. Time to get your kite out.

The only good snake is a dead snake.
