Good morning!!!!

We need to be civil...we may not agree on topics, but that's no reason to get insulting or condescending

GOODBYE!!!

Can any ***moderators*** please let us know what is happening here?

We want to continue, but are finding threads closed and messages deleted without understanding why.

All caught up, and it seems like dark times have come to our little Mayberry of the Good Morning!!!! thread. And that's just a darn shame.

To that end, I think that the GM thread does an excellent job of moderating itself, and that is likely why it is so long lived. Boundaries get tested occasionally, but find their way back pretty quickly. In my opinion this thread wouldn’t really benefit from outside moderation, while others might.

Just checked the "Terms of Use" covid is not mentioned, so just reporting numbers is not a rule violation

Yeah, they got updated alright.
Sounds a bit draconian to me but this is a private site so he can do as he pleases.
It seems to me that someone possible a moderator got his toes stepped on and hurt his feelings.
Kind of like my way or the highway.

Can't say I've ever seen Bruce argue with anyone here about anything. If his posts are being deleted because he's merely reposting numbers released by his local governments ... uh, I got nothing.

Well, what a strange past 24 hours on Good Morning.

The only impolite "discusion" - or lack of - on "Good Morning" seems to have been when someone decided to delete the entirety of Mostly's post.
It would have been far better to have posted a simple polite message in this thread about the almost hidden forum rule change.

Anyway, like Don's torturer, Egore, that's all water under the bridge now.
Ron, Mostly, please forgive what was probably a good intentioned policy decision carried out a little hastily.

Haven't been to P&H in decades,I 89 exit 18 call the Fort good breakfast but dinner has it's ups and downs.

10F and sunny @ 17:30, heading down to a low of 2F for the overnight ... after hitting a low of 5.7F this morning and a high of 19F earlier in the day. Tomorrow will be better with it almost making up to freezing (29F predicted)

Hopper feeder and two sunflower tube feeders refilled, also two suet feeders. Now out of suet and almost out of sunflower seeds. Will have to venture out tomorrow.

Got probably another 6" of snow after the big 12+ incher ... so finally had to break down and get the driveway plowed.

Wasn't too impressed with the guy that did it, although he was dealing with not ever having seen it with snow on it and not knowing the lay of the land so to speak ... so I can't be too hard on him. I did ride with him to give him some insights on where things were and where the snow needed to go.

The money he asked for was entirely reasonable ($60 - $80) ... considering that he had plowed our neighbors driveway (70' long) for $50 and he had to do more than 10x that here. We went ahead and gave him a C-note, which he really appreciated.

Will likely continue in hibernation mode as much as possible, until the big "warm up" (highs in the 40's ...) hits at the beginning of next week.

Hope everyone is staying warm and having a decent day ... (y)

Cool plane. Years ago we saw a similar plane (C5a?) taking off from a small local airport (no tower). This behemoth appeared to lumber slowly down the runway (to the point of looking like it was taxiing from a distance), then half way down the runway it was off the ground at what appeared to be a 45 degree angle. Unreal.
We used to have C5's landing and taking off from the Naval Air Facility in Naples Italy (that was my shore duty, BTW). The way they kinda amble down the runway, one would never think they'd get off the ground.
The neatest time was when I won a lottery to get a ride on the Goodyear Blimp (this one was one of three at the time. Her name was Roma) and as we were approaching the Naples airport (the NAF was on the airport grounds), a C5-A (they were nicknamed "Fat Albert") was launching...again, one would never think they'd get off the ground, but there she went.
(Blimp ride was very enjoyable...more like steering a ship than aircraft)
BTW, C-5 birds are quite a bit larger than a C-17

I’ve been in C5’s at Dover AFB, all three decks, that’s a huge bird. The C141 was big too.

Well, per Weather Underground, the snow expected this weekend went from about 6" or so to nothing...guess the storm is tracking off the coast...that'll make Thomas happy!
-1° right now...low about -13° tonight...

Flew in C141s, even jumped from one, never got chance for later birds.

The Woman’s father flew those for MAC, possibly for MATS before that.

TPTB wanted him to move up to the C-5 but he ultimately opted to retire.

Good evening all. It has been nice chatting with all of you. Was not happy when 1 hr+ work pruned. I just took the night off :) Now for the usual post, 25F for the start, clear sky, light breeze. Light wind day, variable cloudiness chance for rain depends on how dry the air is. High temp was 48F, DP 6F. Men's meeting to start the day, then start fire in insert, then putter a bit. After lunch finished battery replacement project for VFD, then too late for nap :(
