Drinking first cup of hot coffee. 4° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 22° with lots of sun. Got last of my pile of pictures scanned yesterday. Still have a old pile of film to scan. A lot of them are from my parents collections. Not sure what I will get done today. But I am sure it will be inside.
Drew, hope you got a good nights sleep.
Buckeye, nice pictures. Geese that I saw heading south this week must have finally made it to your area.

BTW, I bought an old (1955-1956) British war movie and watched it a couple days ago. It was "The Man Who Never Was", based upon a true WW II incident.

good morning all
no, not much of a good night's sleep. Reclining seat not all the comfortable, neck is not happy at all, but it sure beats driving. Wifi works and it's warm in here. Now if they would have the coffee ready on time. Supposed to be a coffee station in each car but there are no cups. ?
I'm dying here without coffee....
I think I'm around the Florida line, can't tell, still dark out and train tracker doesn't seem to work.
going to try to book a larger room on way home with real bed in it. No clickety clacks but lots of jiggling around. They must have changed engines in the night, some back and forth bumping.

the day can commence
very nice lady attendant, took it on her own to make coffee, Amtrak had cut out coffee service
and it would have been a five car hike for me. As soon as I saw her, and saw how nice she was, I gave her a good tip and told I'd love some coffee. And the coffee pot was turned on this morning, yeah.

I can't tell Roy but I don't think so.
which is probably why they cancelled the express train, not enough passengers
and more likely not enough staff.
I'm in a sleeper car so I don't see the rest of the train and I'm sure not touristing down those aisles
went and saw the larger room, if they have one, I'm going to see if I can book it. Biggest challenge is my one suitcase is really too big for this room and every time I move I have to move the suitcase. Larger room is twice the size and has its own bathroom, which might also be nice.

Good morning, low temp -17°F and the high will be all of 12. Wind SE 5 mph. Sunny.
I go to bed anytime after 8 P.M., I have no idea when junior goes but in the morning there is always a good bed of coals to relight the wood furnace. No matches and fire starters necessary. Most of the time I don't even use kindling.
I used to enjoy riding the train, but now with freight and passenger travel on the same tracks and freight taking priority not so much.
Many, many years ago the powers that be set up a commuter train service between Whitby, Ontario and Toronto. I used to be 'fun' when you were in Toronto and missed the last train East. It is a good thing then that I knew the streetcar and bus routes.
Now I have no, zip, zero use for Toronto and wouldn't go there on a bet.
Today is an energy conservation day, as the weekend will be.

Good morning! 12 now, high today is supposed to be 19. Overnight low is predicted to be -4. Wood burner is gonna get a workout.
Took a vacation day. Not sure what I will get into. Staying warm will be high on the list!
Coffee and bagels for breakfast. Not sure what I will make us for supper. Thinking chili and corn bread.

18 outside this AM. Heading to upper 20's.
No severe weather this week or this weekend. Seems the weather people walked back on their predictions.
Could use a good dry spell, the place is turning into a mud pit.
Ugh on the work front, picked up some more jobs, due to retirements. Wife says I should back out, again myself. Kind of agree, just don't like the work anymore. Plus I have not been truly employed in a long while, so going full time is - hard.
Could be worse.
