Happy Sunday everyone!
24 here going to the 30's. Same as Thomas and Roy we have snow and ice in the forecast. The rest of next week is below zero or single digit nights!
Got the last storm cleaned up. Was about 4 inches with wet and slippery making the tractor wheels spin like crazy. Almost had to put the chains on.
Will try to go out and do drift duty today if it warms up enough. Might leave it till after the storm goes thru.
Wife and i are doing fine health wise. Several people we know are sick so we will be staying in the house unless required.
Here is a shot from my outside cam:
Hope everyone stays safe, warm and healthy!

Good Morning.
It’s 28 with a forecast high of 38.
No precipitation now, but supposed to get sleet and freezing rain, changing to rain later. Looking at the radar, it may just miss us, but either way it be in the single digits tomorrow.

Yesterday was below freezing all day, I spent a lot of in the shop, venturing out for lunch and again to the restaurant to fix an under counter refrigerator.
Fortunately it was an electrical issue, not a refrigeration one. This was the third unit there this month with a condemned compressor that was fixed without replacing the compressor. I’m starting to make the “other guy” look bad. But I do think that the mindset to replace rather than repair runs rampant in every field. Admittedly I don’t charge them for my time, so that skews the equation, but I like the challenge and eat for free. Not to mention that when I got there the fridge was up on a table with a chair for me to work on it. Apparently they don’t like to see me struggle getting down on the floor and back up. And I went home with Lemoncello for the wife and I.

Todays plans will depend on whether it’s a sheet of ice outside or not. But being sentenced to a day in the shop is a bit like throwing Brer Rabbit in the briar patch. Checking up on the fridge would be a good excuse to go out for lunch if the roads allow it.

The shingles are definitely on their way out, the wife is doing pretty well it’s the occasional cortisone shot, and severely limiting what she lifts, but that’s a reasonable trade to be nearly pain free. I hope everyone else out there continues to heal as well.
I wonder what the median age of the GM posters is ?

Morning all,
A nice nippy morning here today 26F and a light freezing rain with an occasional snow squall.
Finished my breakfast and now sipping on the 3rd cup of coffee. Had to turn the volume up
on the scanner for awhile listening to all the reports of minor vehicle accidents. Then the
interesting one the plow truck taking care of the road coming up to my road couldn't make the hill
with the sander, had to turn around and back up the hill to a couple of spun out vehicles then
drive down while they got out of the way and then back up the rest of the way to sand the road.
Just now a report of a plow truck hitting a power pole and has the wires down on the truck.
It seems like our town and county plow operators are getting like much of the driving populace
if it's not a clean road they can't handle it. From the sounds of it none of them are chained up,
that eliminates many issues but it also slows them down. Plus it gets expensive buying all the chains.

Looks like I need to refill a couple of bird feeders today one almost out the other down to about a 1/4 full.

Winter weather advisory till 7PM so I guess I'll wait till late afternoon and seem what happens before I
go take care of the driveway. Right now with a bit ice I'll run the york rake on the driveway to break
and stir it up then may need to load the sander up and spread a load of sand.

Good morning! 50˚F sunny, North wind, heading to the mid 50s.
I did my first timed mile walk in the indoor track in the gym yesterday. My new base is a 23:30 mile. I was focusing on long strides and not limping.
Leg was angry and red at night as expected. Time between pain meds is getting longer and longer, 8 hours yesterday and only took 3 pills of the 12 allowed, getting there.

Kyle, hope your mom improves. This would probably be a good time to start the ADA improvements in her home. Raised commode seat and railing by commode and in shower, ramp at door, and bed railing, to help her pull herself up and out of bed. Chairs she can out of easily. These things my mom uses every day.

When I had Shingles in 2004. I went to Dr for a check up after I finished Meds. It was on my left side forehead. I asked about the scar that had formed there. He said he could take care of it. Came back a syringe and inject it around scar. Took about a week for scar to disappear. I think it was a Botox treatment. Ask Dr if you have a scar where you do not want it from Shingles.

Hope all stay safe today.

Good Morning!!!! 40F @ 7:15AM. Abundant sunshine. High 58F. Winds light and variable.
No rain in the 10-day, and it looks like partly cloudy with temps between 40-60F every day.

Caught up on some housework yesterday, still more to do.

With the light winds forecast, I'll probably light the burn pile and get a few more trees limbed. That'll take most of the day.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend...

Morning all, grey and about to start raining , with solid frozen ground. I am sure bumper cars will ensue.

Got some more trail cleared yesterday, back when the house was built a temp road was setup. I know where it is and started clearing it , it now has some very large trees in the middle. I guess trees can grow big in 30 or so years!

LS - congrats on the new - looks so nice and shiny-I hope you make many happy memories with it,
Randy - glad you are feeling better

No more dissolving stents as they had issues. I have three stents and have been taking an anti-coagulent for three years. Hoping to get off of them this month and also get my permission to start scuba again.

L4N - Sons not saving- trying to instill in my boy, not easy

Kyle - hope your mom stabilizes soon- my first stent was a bit painful-but ok in a few days

Ron- my favorite time on the range was when someone let me fire their muzzle loader pistol. I barely hit the target, the guy said most people don't even get close to the target first try ! Looks like you had fun.

Rain started....

Stay safe and be well.

Old builders road to my house. I took down some dead trees, but a few big ones right in the path.
Fake grape vines everywhere, 3-4"

Are you dragging your Corgi?
The snow doesn't look to deep for the Corgi to walk.
